In her previous life, Bai Ying gave everything she had to the sect—her heart, her soul, her loyalty. But all she got in return was disdain.
Her Master despised her, her senior brothers aban...
Bai Ying suddenly turned around and saw that the dark clouds in the sky were rolling and spreading like ink, covering the entire sky in the blink of an eye.
A hundred feet above her head, the members of the Ten Thousand Poisons Sect stood in mid-air.
The leader, Mo Qianjiu, wore a magnificent purple robe, his face as sinister as a hawk's, and his narrow eyes flashed with a cold light like a venomous snake.
Behind him were several disciples dressed in dark green outfits, with various poison sacs hanging from their waists, their faces covered with hideous tattoos, and their eyes filled with bloodthirsty ruthlessness.
In front of everyone, a figure hovered in mid-air, like a ghost.
The man was wearing a dark black cloak, the wide hood completely obscuring his face, with only two eerie green eyes, like will-o'-the-wisps, appearing and disappearing in the shadows.
He was surrounded by a terrifying, suffocating aura; the air seemed to freeze wherever he passed, and even the light appeared to be distorted and swallowed up. This man was none other than Yan Jiuyou, the "Soul-Devouring Demon," a Void Refinement stage elder of the Ten Thousand Poisons Sect who had been in seclusion for two thousand years.
"You're Bai Ying, the one who hoarded all five Dao Source Fruits?" Mo Qianjiu's chilling voice, like a venomous snake's tongue, echoed through the silent valley. "If you know what's good for you, hand them over obediently, or else..."
Before he could finish speaking, his nose suddenly twitched, and his expression changed drastically.
A delicate and ethereal fragrance wafted from Bai Ying's body. The aura was pure and mysterious, lingering in the air as if it were nothing at all. It was the unique Daoist charm of the Dao Source Fruit after it had been refined!
"You!" Mo Qianjiu's pupils shrank to pinpoints, his face contorted like a demon, his voice shrill and piercing with rage, "You bastard! How dare you eat the Dao Source Fruit?!"
Mo Qianjiu instantly became furious. He had come all this way today mainly for this Source Fruit.
Those are priceless treasures that can help everyone in the Ten Thousand Poisons Sect break through to the next level. How could she dare to eat them like that!
He trembled all over, his fingernails digging deep into his palms, drawing out traces of black blood.
"Heh..." A hoarse, cold laugh, like the grinding of sand, rang out from beneath the cloak. "So what if she ate it? I'll refine her whole into a pill; its effects... might be even better."
"The Supreme Elder's insight is brilliant!" Mo Qianjiu immediately bowed and smiled obsequiously, a cruel excitement flashing in his eyes, as if he could already see Bai Ying being thrown into the alchemy furnace and being refined in the Netherworld Poison Fire.
His disciples behind him also revealed ferocious smiles, rubbing their hands together and waiting for the show to begin.
Bai Ying's body was taut like a fully drawn bowstring, her spiritual energy surging wildly within her. A wisp of cold light had already condensed at her fingertips—a sword aura compressed to its limit, ready to erupt at any moment. However, just as she was about to strike, a terrifying aura that sent shivers down her spine suddenly descended!
It turned out to be...
Void refining period!
Her heart almost stopped, and her blood seemed to freeze.
It was an absolute suppression from a higher level that made it difficult for her to even breathe.
She originally thought that she had cultivated to the Nascent Soul stage and might be able to exchange a few blows with someone at the Void Refinement stage, but when she felt the pressure of the Void Refinement stage, she still felt an unusual sense of fear rising from the depths of her soul.
She was too naive!
The gap between Nascent Soul and Void Refinement is even greater than the gap between mortals and cultivators.
The cloaked cultivator had already raised his hand, his five withered fingers, as thin as ghost claws, spread out, and in an instant, a torrent of black energy surged from his palm, transforming into a giant hand that blotted out the sky and tore through the void, grabbing fiercely at her!
Bai Ying gritted her teeth and moved like lightning, frantically dodging through the swirling black mist.
The colossal palm slammed down, and wherever the palm's force passed, the air emitted a piercing, explosive sound.
She narrowly escaped the gust of wind, her clothes torn to shreds by the aftershock, revealing a deep, bone-revealing gash. Wisps of black smoke emanated from the wound, clearly indicating the presence of a potent poison.
"Boom!" The ground was blasted into a huge crater tens of feet deep, and the shockwave destroyed all the trees within a radius of hundreds of feet, with debris flying like raindrops.
Bai Ying was thrown dozens of feet by the shockwave, felt a sweet taste in her throat, and spat out a mouthful of blood.
She dared not linger; a burst of spiritual light flashed beneath her feet, and she transformed into a blur as she sped away into the distance.
With each step, a phantom image is left in the void.
However, the Supreme Elder merely sneered and lightly flicked his withered finger.
"Swoosh!" A black light shot out like a venomous snake, instantly piercing through the void and heading straight for Bai Ying's back! Wherever the black light passed, even the space itself showed tiny cracks.
A chill ran down Bai Ying's spine. In the nick of time, she jerked to the side, the black light grazing her shoulder and leaving a trail of blood. The wound immediately turned a strange bluish-black, the poison spreading rapidly. She groaned, enduring the excruciating pain, but her steps didn't falter as she continued rushing towards the Seven Deadly Souls Annihilation Array.
With each step, I calculated the distance and silently counted the steps in my mind.
"Huh?" The Supreme Elder narrowed his eerie green eyes slightly, his voice hoarse with a hint of surprise. "You do have some skill."
He originally thought that he could easily crush a mere Nascent Soul cultivator with a single blow.
But this little girl was able to dodge several of his killing moves in succession. Her movements were so unpredictable that they were unlike those of an ordinary cultivator.
"Unfortunately, ants are ants after all." He smiled coldly, and with a flick of his sleeve, the black mist surged and transformed into countless hideous ghostly shadows, swarming towards Bai Ying!
The ghostly figures let out mournful howls, each one equivalent to a full-force attack from a Nascent Soul stage cultivator.
Bai Ying's forehead was covered in cold sweat as her spiritual energy was being rapidly depleted.
"We must lure him into that Seven Deadly Souls Annihilation Formation!" she thought fiercely. The toad had been instantly destroyed by the Seven Deadly Souls Annihilation Formation, and perhaps this killing formation could also deal with those at the Void Refinement stage.
Bai Ying suddenly turned around and tore a path through the encirclement of ghostly figures.
