Time passed by, and it was almost six o'clock in the blink of an eye.

The sun was slowly moving westward and about to set, but the heat of summer had not yet dissipated.

"Cut!" The director yelled, barely daring to look at Gu Chengyu.

Gu Chengyu slowly stood up.

"Director Li," Gu Chengyu's voice was low, carrying an ambiguous hint, "the acting skills of the lead actors are the core of the drama."

"I think Teacher Lin... has potential, but he needs to hone it properly."

He emphasized the word "training," his gaze sweeping over Lin Shu, who was being helped by her assistant and was having her makeup touched up in a disheveled state, his eyes indifferent.

"As the director, you bear a heavy responsibility. When it's necessary to be strict, you must be strict."

He paused, then said meaningfully, "Don't consider anyone's feelings. Cut it if you need to, reshoot if you need to."

Gu Chengyu gave a satisfied "hmm," his gaze finally sweeping over Lin Shu's direction, a sarcastic smile curving his lips.

"Since we're not in good shape today and the filming won't go well, let's call it a day early," he said casually.

"Let everyone go back and get some rest and adjust their mindset. Tomorrow... I hope to see even better performances."

After saying that, he looked away from everyone, turned around, and strode away from the set with ease.

Lin Shu watched Gu Chengyu's disappearing figure, feeling exhausted, aggrieved, and mostly annoyed.

She genuinely believed that her acting skills had dragged her down, causing her to lose face in front of Gu Chengyu, and she felt extremely frustrated.

As the director watched Lin Shu's last few takes on the monitor, where she was clearly exhausted and her performance was declining, and then recalled Gu Chengyu's words, "Just like this afternoon" and "practice hard," a cold sweat broke out on his back again.
