Gu Chengyu didn't even lift his eyelids, still toying with the burnt-out cigar between his fingers, as if he hadn't heard a thing.

The air seemed to freeze for a moment.

Lin Shu's smile froze for a moment, then deepened.

She walked directly to the carpet at Gu Chengyu's feet, lowered her posture considerably, and slowly knelt down, like a rose clinging to a tree.

She tilted her head back, looking at him with her beautiful, expressive eyes, her voice carrying a girlish coquettishness and a hint of ingratiation: "I'm sorry, Chengyu..."

The entire private room erupted in chaos.

Whistles, cheers, and table-banging applause almost drowned out the music.
