Xu Zhaoyue was accidentally chosen by a system and played supporting roles in various worlds. When she returned, she was on her way to study abroad. After studying abroad for a year, she returned t...
Xu Zhaoyue remembered that she was originally enrolled under Grandpa Huang as his second disciple. "Isn't my senior brother the eldest brother? You still reserved a place for me."
"We must keep it; how can we not keep it?" Old Master Huang sighed again.
When Xu Zhaoyue and Manager Yuan came out, they were followed by two servants, each carrying several boxes. Yue Lanxing was already waiting outside. Seeing this, he wondered why they were taking things back, but that didn't stop him from running over to take them.
After driving away, Yue Lanxing noticed that the atmosphere in the car wasn't cheerful, and it didn't seem like a deal had been reached. In particular, Manager Yuan was still comforting the young lady, which made him even more hesitant to ask any further questions.
Manager Yuan is not used to awkward silences, and he started talking as soon as he got in the car, "Manager Xu, how are you feeling? Meeting an old friend will surely bring back many memories."
Xu Zhaoyue nodded. She really didn't expect things to turn out this way. When she heard Manager Yuan's description yesterday, she didn't even remember that she had been here when she was a child.
"I'm fine now. Let bygones be bygones. If I hadn't met Grandpa Huang today, I wouldn't have remembered that I have such a deep connection with the Huang family." Xu Zhaoyue sighed, which made Yue Lanxing, who was driving in front, nervous.
"Manager Xu, I never expected that you and Old Master Huang had this relationship. I think Old Master Huang meant that you are his second disciple! No wonder our company was able to cooperate with him so smoothly before. I always thought it was because he valued our company's strength."
"The company's strength is definitely a factor, and Manager Yuan certainly deserves credit for that as well. My mother was learning medicine from Grandpa Huang, but her family disagreed, so she didn't formally become his apprentice. The position of my mother as his second disciple was actually hers."
Xu Zhaoyue felt that her position as the second disciple was not important. She had almost forgotten the scene of the apprenticeship ceremony. She thought that the main person was definitely her mother. No one would think that she, a little child, was the protagonist.
"Sigh, the Huang family values inheritance, and therefore values this identity. Otherwise, why would they have sent your eldest brother to our company?" Manager Yuan was overjoyed by this news.
Xu Zhaoyue tried to recall who her senior brother was, but she couldn't remember. Since her mother passed away, she had never been in contact with her mother's relatives and friends. Perhaps there were still many connections waiting for her to discover.
"Who is my senior brother? Does Manager Yuan know where he is now?" Xu Zhaoyue looked at Manager Yuan, who should know given his seniority.
Sure enough, Manager Yuan talked about it at length, "Old Master Huang's eldest disciple is respectfully called Master Huang. He is about the same age as the chairman and has been in charge of Baicaitang for many years."
"Oh, speaking of which, Master Huang is getting on in years and can't take any more hardship. Could he send his apprentice over too?" Manager Yuan frowned at this thought, but quickly convinced himself, "It's alright, young people communicate more easily."
"As long as we have this title, that's fine. What do you think, Manager Xu?" Manager Yuan asked Xu Zhaoyue for her opinion, since this project was mainly Xu Zhaoyue's responsibility and was her first project after joining the company.
Xu Zhaoyue also felt that it was obviously inappropriate to have her senior brother come over. Grandpa Huang probably just wanted to give her a bigger title. "It's fine. We'll see how things go tomorrow. Even if Master Huang comes in person, we can't let him be busy with these trivial matters."
They returned to the company satisfied, and Xu Zhaoming was also quite satisfied. He hadn't seen his classmates for a long time, and they even had dinner together that evening.
After arriving at the school, Xu Zhaoming went directly to the Academic Affairs Office to register. Looking at the director's stern expression, even though he had been a manager for a year, Xu Zhaoming still felt a little apprehensive.
"Director, I'm here to report back from leave," Xu Zhaoming said after mentally preparing herself. The director, who had been looking at files, glanced at her sideways when she arrived. "Oh, you're here."
The three words were incredibly sarcastic, and Xu Zhaoming blushed instantly, speechless for a long time. Seeing that the situation was ripe, the director spoke again, "You haven't been to class for two months, and the final exams are coming up soon. Do you think you can pass?"
"Um, ah, I really have something to do and can't get away. I'll talk to the teacher about the exam." Xu Zhaoming felt a little guilty; she had really forgotten all about the exam.
Having seen so many students, the director naturally knew what she was thinking. "Ahem, you're not planning to use illness as an excuse to postpone the exam again, are you? Or are you just going to pass with a passing grade?"
"Hehe, no way, I didn't mean that. I'll study hard," Xu Zhaoming said dryly.
"Alright, go to class and finish your lessons. I don't know what you and the teacher say, and I can't control what happens, as long as it follows the proper procedures in the end." The director's words seemed to have a hidden meaning.
Upon hearing that he could leave, Xu Zhaoming immediately stood up from his stool. "Yes, Director. I will definitely abide by the rules and regulations and will absolutely not cause you any trouble."
Xu Zhaoming ran out of the academic affairs office as if she were fleeing, while the staff she brought with her were waiting for her outside. The staff were holding some things, which Xu Zhaoming took and then told her to go back to the car and wait.
The next stop was the teachers' office. When she went in, only the two teachers who were preparing for the first and second periods were inside.
"Hello, teachers, I'm back to class." Xu Zhaoming bowed as he entered, then placed the gift he was carrying on the two teachers' desks. It was tea, a small token of his appreciation.
"Oh, isn't this a busy person? How many of my classes have you attended this semester?" The first class was with the economics teacher. He glanced at the box and confirmed that the tea looked expensive just from the packaging.
