Chapter 12
The next morning, before the birds even woke up, Su He saw Sheng Jinyu coming back from his morning run in the living room for the first time.
He looked very bad, and was squatting in front of the floor cabinet, silently rummaging through the medicine box. His right hand was not in a good condition.
Su He walked closer and could see fine beads of sweat on his forehead. Perhaps the arm that was injured twice yesterday had worsened again, so he was looking for painkillers, but the medicine he took out was for headaches, which was not quite suitable for him.
"You can't eat anything random. Let me do it. Are you feeling unwell? I'll help you find medicine." Su He walked over to stop him.
"I feel uncomfortable when I see you." Sheng Jinyu frowned and glanced at him coldly.
If you still have the mood to argue with people, then it seems the situation is not too bad.
"Then you don't have to look at me."
"This is my home. I can see whatever I want."
"I didn't stop you from watching it, it's you who didn't want to watch it."
“…”
Sheng Jinyu stood up suddenly, his head seemed to start to hurt. Standing in front of Su He, he felt like an ice wall emitting cold air.
"If you don't want to look, then don't be angry." Su He said good-temperedly to coax him. After all, Sheng Jinyu was his savior.
He turned around and made a phone call: "Then I'll call Dr. Gu."
When Gu Ming walked in, he took one look at Sheng Jinyu's situation and became furious.
The secondary trauma of the hand fracture caused inflammation again, which induced a low fever, and the fever made his concussion complications more serious. One thing leads to another, and there is no good place for him.
"Didn't I tell you not to use this hand? What's going on? Did you go to a fight? Is there a fight you have to fight alone?"
Gu Ming stared at him seriously.
Sheng Jinyu closed his eyes and said nothing, pressing his temples tightly with his fingers. His brows were furrowed into a small peak, rising even higher.
Su He was in the wrong, so he tried to explain for him. Gu Ming did not comment, but glanced at Sheng Jin again and again.
"If you don't want to become a fool who drools all the time in the future, just stay home and don't go anywhere these days. I will tell Uncle Sheng that what you need most now is to rest at home." Gu Ming said seriously.
Sheng Jinyu didn't buy his words: "You've said this before, it has no deterrent effect."
"I exaggerated last time, but you must believe me this time. Do you still want to touch the steering wheel?" Dr. Gu continued.
Sheng Jinyu suddenly said, "I won't touch it again."
His expression was unusually serious, and Gu Ming was choked. He knew that what Sheng Jinyu said was true, and Chairman Sheng would not let him continue to "not do his job properly".
The two of them fell silent, and the atmosphere in the living room was silent for a moment.
Su He looked at Sheng Jinyu and guessed that he was in a bad mood.
Gu Ming sighed and patiently tried to comfort her, "I know you don't like having anyone at home, but the current situation requires a doctor to be on call at all times to assist with your treatment. I'll send you my most trusted person and guarantee that he won't be bribed by anyone. Is that okay?"
Due to this unexpected incident, he had to re-evaluate Sheng Jinyu's physical condition and develop a new treatment plan. He needed to spend more time and energy on care to avoid leaving a root of the disease.
Gu Ming fully understood Sheng Jinyu's caution and resistance. Ever since Sheng Jinyu personally led people to dismantle all the surveillance cameras in the house, he cleared out half of the people in the villa and issued a ban that no one could stay for long without his permission.
Sheng Jinyu seemed to be considering it, but Su He could see that he didn't want to agree.
"Or I can just arrange an intensive care unit for you, and you can live with me and I can look after you personally?" Gu Ming compromised and proposed another possibility.
Sheng Jinyu remained silent, as if passively resisting this question.
Gu Ming knew why he was so suspicious, and he could understand it. But precisely because he could understand it, he couldn't think of a better solution. He scratched his hair angrily and cursed casually: "What a sin!"
The unresolved issue was clearly frustrating. Su He pieced together fragments of information from Gu Ming's rambling words. Sheng Jinyu was a very suspicious person. Something must have happened that made him no longer trust anyone easily...
He stood up and asked, "Doctor Gu, can I?"
Gu Ming seemed to have almost forgotten that there was a living person standing here. After thinking for a moment, he decided that the person he needed didn't need to have too professional medical knowledge, but only needed to be careful and reliable. And Sheng Jinyu just didn't accept outsiders.
After much thought, Su He was indeed the best candidate. He nodded: "Assistant Su, I think you can do it."
In this way, Sheng Jinyu began a week-long life of recuperation at home with Su He.
Su He remembered his kindness and was more patient than before when doing these things.
Every day, he would go to every corner of the villa to look for people, set the alarm to help Sheng Jin change the dressing and give massage. Gu Ming also sent some Chinese medicine and asked Su He to simmer it in a ceramic pot over low heat every day.
Every time he boiled medicine in the kitchen, he would close the door for fear that the smell would escape and offend people. The kitchen was filled with smoke, like a fairyland.
He wore a mask to block out the smell and ran out to get some fresh air from time to time with a soup spoon in hand.
After so many times, he almost had to change his clothes every time.
One time, he was boiling medicine as usual. He moved a chair and sat in front of the soup pot, ready to stir it at any time. The hot steam made Su He's little face red, almost catching up with the effect of sweat steaming.
The kitchen door was suddenly pushed open. Su He turned around, but the thick fog made it impossible for him to see who came in.
Sheng Jinyu raised his hand with a dull face to disperse the heat in front of him, and snapped on the switch of the external air circulation system.
Su He saw in the gradually dissipating white mist that Sheng Jinyu's eyes seemed to be saying - Are you an idiot?
Then the man left without saying a word, as if he had come here just to do this.
A lot of heat was sucked away, and Su He finally felt a little cool. He breathed a sigh of relief, finally avoiding the tragedy of having to change clothes every day.
But this is not the most troublesome thing for Su He. Sheng Jinyu's right hand has been splinted again. He has now become almost a semi-incapacitated person, and eating and dressing are problems for him.
Su He wanted to feed the baby, but Sheng Jinyu wouldn't even let him touch the bowl, as if he was afraid that he would take the opportunity to poison him.
If chopsticks were not convenient to use, Sheng Jinyu would use a fork or a soup spoon. If he couldn't do it the first time, he would patiently repeat it countless times and would never let others interfere with his actions.
He didn't mind the trouble, so Su He naturally didn't mind either. He just stood aside and watched him eat, adding some soup to Sheng Jin's bowl from time to time. A meal usually took more than half an hour.
He could still manage to eat by himself, but things like dressing and bathing were obviously too difficult for Sheng Jinyu, who had one arm "broken".
After taking a shower, Sheng Jinyu came out wearing a silk bathrobe. It was easy to put on the clothes but difficult to tie them, so Su He had to meet the naked Young Master Sheng.
Sheng Jinyu was quite frank about this. His bathrobe was hanging wide open on his body, but he was still wearing a pair of boxer briefs underneath. He stood on the carpet in front of the floor-length mirror with his hands spread out, waiting for Su He to tie his belt for him.
This body bore many marks of violent training; the muscles were firm and bulging, and the veins winding into the edge of the underwear seemed to be trembling slightly with the rhythm of the pulse. It was a young body full of wild beauty and temptation.
Su He was busy tying his belt, glancing at the smooth abdominal muscles from time to time. He was really envious because he didn't have such a healthy and strong body.
Sheng Jinyu suddenly said, "Are you being so attentive recently just to convince me of your cooperation?"
Of course, that's to make you believe that I'm a good person and not to tear me into pieces.
Su He secretly complained, but nodded: "I'm not being attentive, this is just my sincerity in showing cooperation."
Sheng Jinyu did not comment on his "sincerity" and just watched his actions quietly.
There was still some fresh moisture on his body. Su He smelled it, quickened his hands, and quickly tied a bow around his belt.
Then politely back off.
A week passed quickly, and Sheng Jinyu's recovery was much faster than before.
After Dr. Gu finally agreed to let the person go, Assistant Fang was immediately called over. While they were talking in the study, Su He had just sent the chef over and then began to make records for today.
When Sheng Jinyu went downstairs, he saw Su He half-kneeling in front of a small table, writing and drawing with a pen in his hand.
This was not the first time he had caught Su He writing something furtively. Sometimes Su He would even steal a glance at him to make sure he wasn't looking before continuing to write secretly.
Sheng Jinyu had always been too lazy to care, but this time he caught him red-handed. This person was most likely secretly recording his itinerary. The talk of cooperation sounded good, but it was probably just a strategy to lure the enemy into letting their guard down.
The more he thought about it, the angrier he became, and he felt that Su He was really stupid. No one would use such a primitive and unencryptable method like paper and pen to do such a thing.
He walked towards Su He and asked directly, "What is it written?"
Su He was startled by him and subconsciously covered the contents of the notebook, hesitating: "Nothing."
Sure enough, his reaction deepened Sheng Jinyu's doubts.
Sheng Jinyu emphasized: "Give it to me."
When Su He thought about what was written in the notebook, he became reluctant to hide.
His hiding action stirred up a hornet's nest. Sheng Jinyu narrowed his eyes and said, "Is this what you call sincerity?"
Sheng Jinyu walked up to Su He, and the calmer his voice became, the more terrifying it sounded: "I don't mind you being clever in front of me, but you'd better not do anything behind my back. Otherwise, even if you are Sheng Zonglan's man, I will show no mercy."
But you are the best at cutting people into pieces!
Su He complained silently, and was stared at by Sheng Jin with a murderous look. He blinked nervously, his eyelashes fluttering.
It would be a lie to say I wasn't afraid, but I felt more helpless than anything else: "You don't have to threaten me. It's actually not something important. I don't want to show it to you because it contains my privacy."
Su He slowly moved his hand away and pushed the notebook towards Sheng Jinyu, looking quite innocent: "After you finish reading it, can you give it back to me?"
Sheng Jin stared at him with those big eyes that sparkled with fragmented light, and his hand that was reaching to grab the notebook paused.
Suddenly I felt like an unforgivable big bad wolf, forcing Little Red Riding Hood to hand over the mushroom basket.
How hateful and cruel.
"I don't have to take it away. You can turn it over to me yourself." Sheng Jinyu said this, as if he was considerate enough.
Su He could only flip through the notebook from the beginning, recording from the first blank page, and now there are more than ten pages.
Most of the content revolves around Sheng Jinyu, describing how he has a bland taste and dislikes oily and salty foods, especially spicy ones. He also describes how he is very picky about fruits, refusing to eat certain foods and only eating those that have been peeled.
Not only Sheng Jinyu's taste preferences, but also what time he gets up and goes out every day...
"Sheng Jinyu won't eat cooked chopped green onions, raw garlic cloves, or even ginger. He won't eat cilantro or celery... (200 words omitted here). He's a very picky eater."
Next to it was a line of bold red text: "Especially don't eat peanuts, it will cause allergies!"
Further down.
"On August 2nd, Sheng Jinyu got up and exercised for two hours and took a cold shower, but he wasn't afraid of catching a cold."
"On August 3rd, he really did catch a cold and was sneezing."
…
"On August 11th, Sheng Jin went out for a run in the morning. His injury hadn't healed yet, so he had a headache when he came back. He was really disobedient."
…
