The oven dinged, signaling the time was up. He didn't have time to waste words with her, so he put on thick gloves and took the baking tray out.

This scene was witnessed by Jiang Can as she entered to wash her hands.

Huo Zhixin immediately put on a wronged look and ran to Jiang Can's side.

"Sister Jiang Can, my brother-in-law won't give me any cookies... He thinks I eat too many!"

Jiang Can glared at Huo Zhixing, signaling him to put the baking tray down quickly.

Huo Zhixing pursed his lips. Although his face was frightening, he still obediently placed the baking tray on the table.

"Sister, your cookies smell so good! Can I come here often?"

Jiang Can smiled and agreed, then turned to wash her hands, whispering a warning to her husband to treat her savior well.
