I married a petty hooligan in place of my sister, living a life of poverty. Who knew that my husband would suddenly transform into a mysteriously powerful and influential tycoon?
Jiang Can co...
"Still trying to talk back?"
Before Huo Junyu could even open his mouth, he heard his father's stern roar.
Huo Junyang stood with a smile on his face and his back straight, no longer the elementary school student who had been punished to stand in the corner.
Instead, they are people who redeem themselves through meritorious service.
And so the real show began, with both parents giving Huo Junyu a scathing critique.
Jiang Can: "You should have said this a long time ago!"
Huo Zhixing: "Yes, why don't you say so?!"
Jiang Can: "Such a big thing and you didn't even come back to discuss it with us? We need to come up with a solution!"
Huo Zhixing: "Exactly! They caught us completely off guard!"
Jiang Can: "Now you really think you're all grown up, daring to hide anything from me!"
Huo Zhixing: "That's right! With wings so hard, they should be snapped!"
Huo Junyu: "..."
Huo Junyang, standing to the side, was already blushing from trying not to laugh.
However, his smugness didn't last long before he turned around and met his older brother's murderous gaze.
"You, you, you, don't do anything reckless!" Huo Junyang immediately hid behind Jiang Can for protection. "Who told you to be so slow to speak? And... Huo Junyu! Don't forget that I'm your beloved younger brother!"
Huo Junyu used the cracking sounds from his wrists and knuckles to tell him: My mouth is slow? But my fists are fast!
As for my beloved younger brother... sorry, you won't be for long!
"Alright, you two, stop fooling around!" Huo Zhixing shot them a sharp look. "Listen to your mother!"
The two sons immediately quieted down and stood obediently to the side.
Jiang Can smiled faintly, glanced at the two of them helplessly, and patted each of them once.
Now that the whole story is clear, let me tell you my plans for the future.
Her sons looked up at her and listened attentively.
Jiang Can began to make arrangements in an orderly manner: "Yangyang, you must protect Ranran and her daughter. You must not let Lu Ming get close to them again."
"Don't worry, Mom!" Huo Junyang smiled brightly. "I already had people secretly protecting them. When Ranran and I went to Jiangzhou, the hospital had already arranged for people to be there, so Lu Ming hasn't had a chance to make a move!"
"Yangyang is such a good boy!" Jiang Can laughed. "He's becoming more and more reliable in his words and actions. He can think ahead of me without me even having to say anything!"
Three black lines and a crow floated overhead, while a series of ellipses flashed through Huo Junyu's mind.
"As for Junyu!" Jiang Can suddenly shouted, pulling her eldest son back from his reverie. "Your most important task is to tell Mianmian her true identity! Make sure she accepts this fact."
"Oh, I see," Huo Junyu replied casually. "What about Uncle Ashan and Aunt Yuqing?"
“We’ll talk about this,” Huo Zhixing said in a deep voice. “We can’t ignore their feelings. We must find a way to not only make them accept that their current daughter is fake, but also that their real daughter has returned.”
"As for that Lu Ming..." He narrowed his eyes, a cold smile playing on his lips, "You don't need to worry about him, Dad will handle him!"
Jiang Can smiled, walked to his side, and intertwined her fingers with his.
Even though he was over fifty, he was still as dashing as ever, and remained the man she admired.
"Alright, that's all for the plan." Jiang Can looked at them. "From now on, let's split up and get to work!"
*
Huo Junyang's task is simple; for now, it seems he only needs to stay at the hospital and take good care of Lu Ran.
Huo Junyu, on the other hand, faces a much more difficult situation.
What troubled him was not simply saying those words, but the love that Jiang Youcai and Su Ai had shown this non-biological daughter for the past twenty years, and Jiang Xiaowei's unconditional trust and protection of her sister.
This family has become irreplaceable in Jiang Mianmian's life.
Sometimes Huo Junyu thought that even if they had made Jiang Mianmian unhappy in the slightest, or made her want to escape from this home, he wouldn't be in such a difficult position as he is now.
It was raining that day, and the cool weather was a rare treat. Huo Junyu and Jiang Mianmian stayed in their room, painting, reading, and playing chess, having a great time.
"Junyu, my parents said they're getting ready to go back."
"What?" Huo Junyu was taken aback. "Why so suddenly?"
"Not at all!" Jiang Mianmian smiled, placing the black piece in a perfect spot. "I'm calling it a win!"
Huo Junyu chuckled and obediently admitted defeat.
"What I mean is, why don't they stay a few more days? There are still so many places in Yangcheng that I haven't taken them to."
"Hmm...maybe they feel that the disturbance has already lasted quite a while, and besides, the supermarket still needs to stay open."
Huo Junyu's eyes darkened, his expression slightly complicated. He put away the chessboard, led Jiang Mianmian to the bookshelf, and took out a photo album.
Jiang Mianmian was very curious.
He said softly to her, "Our relationship has progressed to this point, so... I shouldn't have anything to hide from you."
"So, are you going to show me photos of yourself when you were little?" Jiang Mianmian asked with a playful smile.
Huo Junyu gestured for her to open it.
She turned the pages gently, as if she had entered a magical time machine, taking her back to Huo Junyu's childhood.
She saw his full-moon photo; the tiny baby was sleeping there, completely naked except for a diaper covering his private parts.
His 100-day-old photo shows him wearing a big red bib, with chubby little hands and feet, a longevity lock around his neck, and surrounded by a golden glow.
His first birthday photo shows him wearing a little shirt and a bow tie, looking at the camera with a bewildered expression, looking like a round, chubby, white rice ball.
Also, there are photos of him when he was three or five years old. After he could run and jump, he played a lot more, going up mountains and down rivers, and he could do everything.
