In her previous life, Chen Jiayi poured her heart and soul into taking care of her ungrateful in-laws, but her husband despised her as an uncultured country girl! He was entangled with his first lo...
Chen Jiayi pursed her lips: "Dad, it's not your fault."
In times of chaos, it is always ordinary people who suffer. If it had been a peaceful and prosperous era, perhaps she would not have been lost.
But since it has already happened, Chen Jiayi felt there was no point in thinking about it anymore, and she should just cherish the present!
Chen Qiming smiled and said, "Jiayi, let's go back and show the paternity test report to your mother. She'll definitely be very happy."
Chen Jiayi nodded, a hint of tenderness flashing in her eyes as she thought of the gentle Lan Meixuan.
When Chen Jiayi and the others arrived home, they saw Lan Meixuan carrying out a bowl of soup.
Chen Qiming immediately ran over and took the soup bowl from Lan Meixuan's hands.
"Oh, I'll do it, be careful."
Lan Meixuan exclaimed, "I'm not a child, what are you doing?"
Lan Meixuan blushed with embarrassment, while Chen Jiayi felt very warm and cozy.
She smiled, somewhat envious of the way the Chen couple got along.
After seeing the paternity test results, Lan Meixuan couldn't help but shed tears. She was so excited that she wanted to take Chen Jiayi out for a walk and show off that she had found her biological daughter.
...
After clarifying the situation, Ding Haowen took a car home.
He couldn't help but think all the way that if Chen Jiayi really was the richest man's daughter, what would happen if she targeted him in the future?
But then he thought about it again, and realized that he and Chen Jiayi hadn't gotten their divorce certificate yet, so he was still Chen Jiayi's legal husband.
When Li Shufang saw Ding Haowen return, she immediately stood up.
"How did it go? What did your company say?"
Ding Haowen was sweltering and felt sticky all over, so he gave a perfunctory reply.
"It's nothing serious, I can go back to work in a while."
He wanted to take a shower, but there was no hot water.
Ding Haowen felt a little irritated at the thought of having to heat the bath water himself.
"By the way, Mom, we can't rent out that apartment in the city anymore. My workplace found out I was making money by renting it out, and that's why I've been suspended."
Li Shufang was shocked. "What? Really? But we've been keeping our rental business very discreet. How did our workplace find out?"
Li Shufang paused for a moment, then thought of someone.
"Did Chen Jiayi report you?"
She angrily berated Chen Jiayi: "Last time it was Chen Jiayi who reported you, this time it must have been her. If it wasn't her, who else could it be?"
Ding Haowen pursed his lips, not refuting his mother's words.
Actually, on the way back, he thought about it carefully and felt that it might not necessarily be Chen Jiayi who reported it.
If you live in a company-allocated apartment, your colleagues will definitely be able to see it. If you don't go to the company-allocated apartment to and from get off work, someone who is observant might notice and report you.
However, Ding Haowen had no intention of speaking up for Chen Jiayi.
All he wanted to do right now was take a nice shower and then go find Yuzhu.
Li Yuzhu held the child, looking impatient.
How come she never knew children could be so annoying? Every time parents bring their children to the doctor, if the child throws a tantrum, the adults kick them. If the child tries to cry, the adults kick them again. After a few kicks, the child behaves.
Why did Dingxiang cry even harder after she hit her a few times?
Seeing that Dingxiang was still crying loudly, Li Yuzhu impatiently yelled, "Cry, cry, cry! Why don't you cry yourself to death?"
Just then, there was a knock on Li Yuzhu's door.
Li Yuzhu glared at Dingxiang and said, "Shut up."
Dingxiang was so scared that she shut her mouth, but she couldn't control her body; her little body kept twitching.
Li Yuzhu opened the door and saw Ding Haowen. She smiled.
"Haowen, you're finally here. Did you go to the city? It's just in time that you're here. Dingxiang has been crying the whole time, and I don't know what to do."
Looking at the gentle Li Yuzhu, it was a world of difference from the noise Ding Haowen had just heard outside the door.
Ding Haowen's expression shifted for a moment, a complex mix of emotions flashing across his face. The thought of not sleeping well while caring for the child overwhelmed him. He merely glanced at Ding Xiang with a detached look, his voice calm.
"No, I just came over to let you know."
A hint of dissatisfaction flashed in Li Yuzhu's eyes. She hadn't expected Ding Haowen to be so slow, but she didn't show it on her face.
"Haowen, thank you for making this trip."
Seeing Li Yuzhu's gentle and tender nature, Ding Haowen felt much better.
Dingxiang opened her eyes and saw that Ding Haowen was about to leave. She reached out her little hand and grabbed Ding Haowen's pants.
"Daddy...Daddy..."
Ding Haowen looked down and his face darkened.
He was wearing white pants today, and Dingxiang did something to scratch his pants, leaving a handprint.
Ding Haowen gave a forced smile, "Xiangxiang, be a good girl, play with Mommy here~ Daddy will come to pick you up in a couple of days."
Dingxiang's little head couldn't understand the meaning behind Ding Haowen's words, but she knew that her father didn't want to take her away.
Dingxiang burst into tears.
Ding Haowen became impatient upon hearing her crying, but a loving smile appeared on his face.
When Li Yuzhu saw Ding Haowen stand up, she immediately gave him a sweet smile.
After Ding Haowen left, Li Yuzhu stared at Ding Xiang with a cold look in her eyes.
"Try crying again?"
…
Chen Jiayi lay comfortably in bed. She had been sleeping and eating well for the past two days, and her complexion had improved considerably.
She always felt something was unreal, as if she were dreaming.
Chen Jiayi thought about it carefully, but couldn't decide what to study.
She didn't think that much about it at first; she just wanted to read to improve herself and enrich her knowledge.
But later, when I read a book, it said that people should have a goal, and that if they want to do something in the future, they should learn and plan ahead.
Chen Jiayi sighed, "Let's learn the basics first..."
