Just as I was about to silently put down my phone, I heard Nanzhi's voice:

What are you doing with my phone?

Shen Xingmian: "......"

He paused for a moment, pressed the lock screen button on his phone, and then casually handed it to Nanzhi:

"You just left it on the sofa, and it accidentally fell to the floor. I just picked it up for you."

Nanzhi: "..."

I really want to applaud Shen Xingmian; this person is just too good at making things up.

If I hadn't secretly seen him looking through my phone with a pleased expression, I probably would have believed it.

Nanzhi didn't call him out on it, and nodded, "Thank you."

Shen Xingmian: "You're welcome." She then walked to her desk, and just as she was about to sit down and turn on her computer, she heard Nan Zhi's soft voice:

What are you planning to do?

Shen Xingmian: "...I want to check if the computer is dusty."

As he spoke, he looked closely at the computer and picked up a tissue from the side, wiping the keyboard in a very professional manner.

Nan Zhi: "......" You win.

"I'm going to my room to change. Wait for me, we'll come downstairs for dinner in a bit."

Shen Xingmian nodded: "I understand."

Before leaving, Nan Zhi turned around and gave Shen Xingmian a meaningful look.

Facing her gaze, Shen Xingmian showed no sign of panic, instead continuing to clean the computer with an air of seriousness.

"I'll be right there."

After saying that, he left completely.

Shen Xingmian stared at the laptop in front of him, his brow furrowed, his index finger hovering over the power button. After a long while, he finally sighed and did not turn it on.

Just bear with it for a few days.

Nanzhi changed her clothes quickly, and only ten minutes had passed since she returned.

"Let's go downstairs for dinner."

It was already six o'clock. Before going downstairs, Nan Zhi first checked the computer to see if it was turned on, and found it was still off. She looked at Shen Xingmian with a smile:

"After you finish eating, you should get some rest."

Shen Xingmian: "......"

Over the next three days, Nanzhi took Shen Xingmian to the beach, the aquarium, and to climb the famous mountains of Yuecheng.

Nanli is supposed to be back this afternoon, and after thinking about it, Nanzhi decided to go and see Old Xu.

The two had just finished breakfast when Nanzhi made her decision:

"You go back to the hotel to rest first. I'm going to visit Grandpa at the Xu family's house. I'll be back soon."

Shen Xingmian glanced at her, "I'll go with you."

Just as Nanzhi was about to refuse, she heard the man continue:

"I'll wait for you in the taxi outside."

They didn't plan to stay here for long. When Shen Xingmian was alone, he had a driver provided by the place. But when he was with Nan Zhi, he didn't want to be disturbed, so he took taxis while he was out and about these past two days.

After thinking for a while, Nanzhi nodded and said, "Okay."

After the car arrived at the Xu family's residence, Nan Zhi got out with the gift box, while Shen Xingmian waited for her in the car.

The driver had received enough money, so of course he wouldn't rush him.

When the Xu family's servants saw Nanzhi enter, they led her inside.

At this time, the Xu family had just finished breakfast, and when they saw Nanzhi arrive, Old Master Xu welcomed her warmly.

"Zhizhi, if you don't come soon, Grandpa is going to come looking for you."

Nanzhi smiled and placed the gift box on the coffee table. "Grandpa, I've been busy these past few days, so I haven't been able to come see you. Please don't mind."

Old Xu smiled and the two chatted for a while.

Xu Yao suddenly came downstairs and saw Nan Zhi. She paused, her lips slightly pursed, her attitude neither warm nor cold.

"Cousin, what brings you here?"

Nanzhi didn't care about her attitude and just smiled slightly, "I've come to see my grandfather."

Xu Yao walked a few steps to Old Master Xu and greeted him with a cheerful "Grandpa!"

Old Xu patted her head. "Weren't you going out?"

Xu Yao stuck out her tongue.

"I was going to go out, but my cousin is here, so I'll stay a little longer. It's okay."

Seeing that Xu Yao seemed to have no complaints about Nan Zhi, Old Master Xu treated her even more kindly.

"You are a good child. You should keep in touch with your cousin often. Sisters should visit each other more often."

Xu Yao nodded, "I know, Grandpa."

Nan Zhi glanced at the time and realized it was almost time, then bid farewell to Old Xu:

"Grandpa, I might have to go back tonight. You can call me if you need anything. I'll come to see you again when I have time."

Old Xu said with some regret, "You're leaving so soon?"

Nan Zhi laughed: "Yes, my brother finished filming this afternoon, so we can go back together."

Old Xu thought for a moment and said:

"That's good too, you'll have company on the way. Jingzhi has been busy with company matters these past few days and hasn't had time, otherwise we should have let him take you."

"My cousin is busy with the company, that's the important thing. My brother and I will get home safely."

Nanzhi smiled and declined, "Grandpa, I'll be going now. I still have some things to pack."

Old Xu smiled and nodded, "You should come often in the future. Let Yao Yao see you out."

Just as Nan Zhi was about to refuse, Xu Yao came over and took Nan Zhi's arm:

"Let's go, cousin, I'll see you out."

Nanzhi: "..."

She and Xu Yao don't seem to be that close.

As soon as she stepped out the door, Xu Yao lowered her arm. Nan Zhi didn't pay any attention and walked towards the villa entrance.

Seeing the taxi waiting across the street, Nanzhi turned around:

"Cousin, this is enough."

Xu Yao looked at her coldly, the smile on her lips gone.
