Accidentally falling into a rift in time, I was transmigrated into a book that my cousin had complained about. Since I'm starting over from scratch, I intend to live a splendid life.
Afte...
After a stick of incense had burned, Shu Lan arrived in Penghu City. He originally planned to go directly to the mountains outside the city. But when he saw Qin An's tattered clothes, Shu Lan decided to buy him a few sets of clothes first.
On the way, Shu Lan had already used a cleansing spell and a water ball technique to wash Qin An. Now, apart from his tattered clothes, Qin An's face and exposed skin were clean and white.
Qin An wasn't bad-looking; he had almond-shaped eyes that, being underage, were slightly rounded and moist, giving him an adorable, deer-like appearance. Due to long-term malnutrition, his face was rather thin, but one could still vaguely discern that he was a very cute child.
"Come on, let's go shopping for clothes." Shu Lan took Qin An's hand and led him towards a clothing store.
"Sir, how many are in your party?" The shop owner was a somewhat wealthy middle-aged man whose eyes narrowed into slits when he smiled, resembling a Maitreya Buddha.
"I need to buy some clothes for my younger brother. Can you help me take a look?"
The shopkeeper turned his attention to Qin An, "Oh my, young man, you're just like your brother, quite the handsome fellow."
"That's right, he's my younger brother." Shu Lan was very happy to hear others praising Qin An.
"We've just received a few new outfits, all of which would suit this young man well," the shopkeeper said, as he showed Qin An several clothes, all of which fit him perfectly.
"I've bought all of these." Shu Lan looked at Qin An, who had changed into new clothes and seemed like a completely different person, full of energy and spirit. Indeed, clothes make the man.
At that moment, Shu Lan noticed a black dress in the shop. It was decorated with cloud patterns embroidered in gold thread, making the whole dress look luxurious and elegant.
"Shopkeeper, that black dress is..." Shu Lan pointed to the dress.
"Ah, that's our store's prized possession. The material is of the finest quality; it's impervious to water and fire."
How much does that dress cost?
"I'd like two low-grade spirit stones, or perhaps, sir..."
"Two low-grade spirit stones? I'll take them!" Among the treasures given by the Book God, spirit stones were the most abundant. High-grade spirit stones were piled up into mountains, and there were several piles of top-grade spirit stones. Mid-grade and low-grade spirit stones were even more plentiful, like veins of minerals. (One top-grade spirit stone is equal to 1000 high-grade spirit stones, one high-grade spirit stone is equal to 1000 mid-grade spirit stones, one mid-grade spirit stone is equal to 1000 low-grade spirit stones, one low-grade spirit stone is equal to 100 spirit beads, one spirit bead is equal to 10 taels of gold…)
"Huh? You bought it?" The shopkeeper was a little surprised.
"Yes, I bought it. Please pack it for me."
"Brother." Qin An gently tugged at Shu Lan's sleeve. "I don't want that dress anymore." Qin An didn't know the value of low-grade spirit stones, but judging from the shopkeeper's appearance, it shouldn't be cheap.
"Why wouldn't I want to? You're my brother. It's worth spending money on your brother." Shu Lan gently rubbed Qin An's cheek.
Qin An's eyes instantly reddened. Aside from his mother, no one had ever been so kind to him. His brother was like a ray of light, shining into his dark world and bringing him so much warmth.
"Thank you, brother." Qin An nodded, keeping his gratitude hidden in his heart. He vowed to repay his brother properly in the future.
"That's more like it." Shu Lan smiled happily, her whole demeanor softening, her peach blossom eyes narrowing, and the corners of her mouth slightly upturned, making her appear incredibly gentle.
Qin An was completely stunned when he saw Shu Lan like this. Shu Lan was already beautiful, but this smile was like warm sunshine shining into a cold pool, melting the water. She became even more beautiful than before.
Qin An's heart fluttered; he felt that his brother was so wonderful and he wanted to see him like this forever.
"Come on, put this on and let me see." Shu Lan took out the precious black garment and held it up against Qin An.
Qin An changed into the black robe, and his entire appearance changed. The black robe accentuated his extremely fair skin, while the gold thread embroidered on it added a touch of mystery. He looked like a noble young master.
"Xiao An is the best-looking person I've ever seen in black. Black really suits you." Shu Lan's eyes lit up; she was very satisfied with Qin An's outfit.
"What did you just say, brother?"
"Black really suits you."
"No, it's the sentence before that."
"Xiao An is the best-looking person I've ever seen in black."
"Can you keep calling me Xiao An, brother?" Qin An looked at Shu Lan expectantly. This was the first time his brother had called him Xiao An, and he loved the nickname.
"Of course you can, Xiao An." Shu Lan patted Qin An's head.
"Yes!" Qin An nodded excitedly. He finally had a name that belonged to him.
After shopping at the clothing store, Shu Lan took Qin An for a walk on the street and bought him a lot of snacks and treats.
Then they took him out of the city and headed towards the mountains outside the city.
Once outside the city, Shu Lan carried Qin An and flew on her sword.
When they reached a cliff with a crooked tree, Shulan landed on a protruding rock.
Shu Lan settled Qin An here. "Little An, wait for your brother here, okay?"
"What is my brother going to do?"
"Brother came here to find something. Will you wait here quietly?" Shu Lan patted Qin An's head and said gently.
"Okay." Qin An nodded obediently.
After settling in Qin'an, Shulan began climbing along the mountain cliff.
After searching most of the cliff, he finally found the Body Tempering Star Bead Grass in a crevice of a rock three hours later.
