"Ning Yu! Save me! I was wrong, I will never do it again..." Grandpa Sun wailed in pain, looking to Ning Yu for help.

A cold smile curled at the corner of Ning Yu's lips as he slowly raised the steel pipe in his hand, aiming it at the mutated dog... but he didn't bring it down. A glint flashed in his eyes, and seizing the opportunity, he suddenly charged towards another intact mutated dog. The steel pipe, like a venomous snake's tongue, pierced straight for the mutated dog's throat, precise and ruthless.

"Awooo—!" The mutated dog, struck in a vital spot, let out a shrill scream and collapsed to the ground, convulsing.

Without pausing, Ning Yu turned and swept his leg, knocking another mutated dog that was lunging at him to the ground. Taking advantage of the mutated dog's struggle, he leaped high into the air, and the steel pipe in his hand fell like a heavy hammer, smashing its head apart.

Having dealt with all the mutated dogs, Ning Yu turned to look at Grandpa Sun, his eyes devoid of any pity. Grandpa Sun was terrified, his face ashen, cowering in a corner, trembling.

"You..." Grandpa Sun opened his mouth, wanting to say something, but was so frightened by Ning Yu's cold gaze that he shut his mouth.

"Get lost!" Ning Yu coldly uttered a single word.

Grandpa Sun felt as if he had been granted a pardon and scrambled out of the shelter. He limped away into the night, unsure if he would survive the night.

Ning Yu ignored Grandpa Sun's whereabouts, walked into the shelter, closed the dilapidated iron gate, and shut out everything from the outside world.

He slowly sat down against the wall, closing his eyes wearily. The battle, though brief, had drained him of much of his strength. He needed rest, and more importantly, he needed to think.

Grandpa Sun's actions made him realize that in this apocalyptic world, humanity cannot withstand the test. In order to survive, everyone will become selfish, cruel, and even unscrupulous.

He must improve his strength and build his own power as soon as possible in order to survive in this cruel world.

"Tick-tock, tick-tock..."

The sound of water droplets falling into the container was exceptionally clear in the silent shelter. Ning Yu suddenly opened his eyes, realizing that the water supply in the shelter was running low and needed to be replenished as soon as possible.

He got up, picked up an empty kettle, pushed open the iron gate, and went outside.
