Ning Yu lay on the ground, watching the strange bird swoop down again, its enormous shadow looming over him. His heart pounded violently, as if it would burst from his chest. He tried to stand up again, but every part of his body ached, the excruciating pain rendering him immobile. He could only watch helplessly as the strange bird's sharp claws drew ever closer.

"Watch out!" Mu Xue's shout came from afar, but it was quickly drowned out by the wind. Ning Yu turned his head and saw Mu Xue running desperately, but the strange bird was too fast and caught up with her in the blink of an eye.

"No!" Ning Yu roared in despair, trying to get up, but his body felt as heavy as lead. He could only pray silently in his heart, praying for a miracle, praying that Mu Xue could escape this calamity.

The strange bird let out a sharp cry, its sharp claws lashing out at Ning Yu with a powerful gust of wind. Ning Yu closed his eyes in despair, awaiting his death.

Just then, a dark shadow suddenly darted out from the side and slammed into the strange bird. The bird let out a shrill scream as its massive body was sent flying and crashed heavily to the ground.

Ning Yu opened his eyes and saw a huge black shadow blocking his way, confronting the strange bird. It was a behemoth even larger than the strange bird, its body covered in black scales that shimmered with a metallic sheen. It had a pair of scarlet eyes that radiated a chilling killing intent, like a demon from hell.

The giant beast opened its blood-red maw, revealing sharp fangs, and let out a deafening roar before swooping down on the strange bird.

The two enormous creatures wrestled together, whipping up gusts of wind, sending sand and stones flying, and darkening the sky. Ning Yu was stunned by this sudden turn of events, momentarily forgetting his fear and pain, simply staring blankly at the breathtaking scene before him.

On the other side, Mu Xue was still running desperately. She didn't know how long she had been running, nor where she was; she only knew that she had to run as fast as she could, to get as far away from that terrifying strange bird as possible.

Suddenly, her footing gave way, and she fell into a deep pit.

"Ah!" Mu Xue screamed as her body crashed heavily onto the hard ground. She struggled to get up, only to find the trap filled with sharp wooden splinters. A splinter pierced her leg, and blood instantly stained her trouser leg.

"Damn it!" Mu Xue gritted her teeth, enduring the excruciating pain, and pulled the splinter from her leg. However, the trap was too deep, and she couldn't climb out at all.

The strange bird's cries grew closer, and Mu Xue knew she had nowhere to escape. She closed her eyes in despair, awaiting death.

"Roar!" The giant beast roared, forcing the strange bird back. It looked down at Ning Yu lying on the ground, a complex expression flashing in its scarlet eyes. Then, it leaped and chased after the strange bird, quickly disappearing into the vast night.

Ning Yu struggled to stand up, wanting to warn Mu Xue to be careful, but the intense pain prevented him from moving, and he could only watch helplessly as the strange bird flew towards Mu Xue.

"No!" Ning Yu closed his eyes in despair. He couldn't bear to see Mu Xue torn to pieces by the strange bird in front of him.

At the critical moment, a dark shadow flashed by, accompanied by an angry roar, knocking the strange bird away.

Ning Yu opened his eyes and was surprised to see a tall figure blocking Mu Xue's path, confronting the strange bird.

"Who are you……"

"Shut up if you don't want to die, and eat this." The man coldly interrupted Ning Yu, shoving a black object into his hand. "It can help you."

Before Ning Yu could react, the strange bird had already swooped down on him again.

"Get out of the way!"

The strange bird's sharp claws, carrying a powerful gust of wind, almost grazed Ning Yu's nose. He could even feel the stinging pain of the fierce wind on his face. The next instant, a sharp pain shot through his left arm. He looked down and saw three deep, bone-revealing gashes on his arm, blood gushing out.

"Ah!" Ning Yu groaned in pain, his vision went black, and he almost fainted. But he gritted his teeth and used all his strength to stay awake, because he knew that once he passed out, he would never wake up again.

"Ning Yu!" Mu Xue's anxious shouts came from afar. Ning Yu endured the pain and turned to look. He saw Mu Xue desperately trying to climb out of the trap, but the trap walls were extremely smooth, and she tried several times without success.

"Don't worry about me! Run!" Ning Yu shouted hoarsely. He knew that in his current state, he was no match for the strange bird, and staying here would only be a burden to Mu Xue.

"No, I won't leave you alone!" Mu Xue's eyes reddened. She tried desperately to climb out of the trap, but no matter how hard she tried, she couldn't escape this damned trap.

The strange bird ignored their conversation, let out a sharp cry, and swooped down on Ning Yu again. Ning Yu was powerless to dodge and could only watch helplessly as the shadow of death descended upon him once more.

"Get out of the way!" Suddenly, a tall figure blocked Ning Yu's path, wielding his weapon and slashing fiercely at the strange bird's claws.

"Clang!" Sparks flew as the strange bird let out an angry roar and was forced back a few steps. Ning Yu then realized that the person who had saved him was the same person who had given him the black object earlier. At this moment, he was holding a strangely shaped weapon and confronting the strange bird.

"Hurry up! Don't waste the time I've bought you!" the man shouted without turning his head, his tone filled with unquestionable authority.
