Transmigrator Ning Yu relies on his special abilities and a system to survive on Earth after a nuclear war. He meets the older, alluring Mu Xue and confronts hypocritical ability organizations, ult...
The buzzing sound grew louder and louder, like the war drums of death, making people's eardrums tingle.
Looking up, a swarm of giant bees, like a black cloud, swooped down towards Ning Yu and Mu Xue.
These bees are several times larger than ordinary bees. Their wings flap and create gusts of wind. The stinger at their tails gleams with a cold light, like a blade in the hand of death.
Ning Yu's heart sank. He knew that these mutated giant bees possessed extremely strong aggression and venom, and the consequences of being stung would be unimaginable.
He quickly looked around, trying to find a place to hide, but the cliff face was bare and there was nowhere to hide.
In a moment of desperation, Ning Yu picked up a stone and threw it at the swarm of bees in an attempt to scare them away.
However, this unintentional act completely enraged the bees, which emitted an even sharper buzzing sound and, like enraged beasts, frantically pounced on Ning Yu and Mu Xue.
"Quickly hide behind me!" Ning Yu shouted, shielding Mu Xue behind him.
A giant bee charged forward first, its target Mu Xue.
Mu Xue instinctively raised her hand to block, and was instantly stung on the back of her hand.
A piercing pain shot through her, and the back of her hand quickly swelled up like an inflated balloon. Mu Xue cried out in pain, tears streaming down her face.
"Damn it!" Ning Yu cursed under his breath.
He took off his coat and waved it vigorously, trying to drive away the swarm of bees.
However, the number of bees was simply too great, surging in like a tide, and it was impossible to drive them all away.
One after another, giant bees swarmed towards them, stinging Ning Yu several times on his face and neck, the burning pain almost unbearable.
"This won't do, we'll be stung to death!" Mu Xue's voice trembled, tinged with despair.
Ning Yu gritted his teeth, his brain racing, trying to find a solution.
His gaze fell on the cliff below, and a crazy idea flashed through his mind...
"Hold on tight!" Ning Yu shouted at Mu Xue.
Ning Yu took off his coat and waved it wildly, trying to carve out a path through the swarm of bees.
However, the number of bees was simply too great, surging in like a black tide, and his efforts seemed like a drop in the ocean.
One after another, giant bees swarmed towards them, stinging Ning Yu several times on his face and neck, the burning pain searing his skin like a branding iron.
Each wave of the bee creates a gust of wind, but it can only disperse a small area of bees, which is then quickly filled with even more bees.
Mu Xue hid behind Ning Yu, the wound on the back of her hand throbbing with pain, making it almost impossible for her to breathe.
She looked around in terror, trying to find a glimmer of hope.
Suddenly, her gaze fell on a cluster of inconspicuous herbs on the edge of the cliff.
The herbs emitted a peculiar, pungent odor that permeated the air.
Mu Xue's heart stirred. She remembered seeing a record of this herb when she was reading ancient books before. It was said to have the effect of repelling mosquitoes.
Could it be...?
"Ning Yu, look over there!" Mu Xue pointed to the clump of herbs, her voice trembling with pain. "That herb might be able to drive away the bees!"
Ning Yu followed Mu Xue's gaze and also saw the cluster of herbs.
A glimmer of hope ignited in his heart, but he also knew that it would be no easy task to collect herbs while being swarmed by bees.
"I'll give it a try!" Mu Xue gritted her teeth, endured the excruciating pain, and bent down to walk towards the cluster of herbs.
With every step she took, she felt as if she were walking on a knife's edge, with swarms of bees hovering around her, ready to attack at any moment.
Ning Yu knew he had to buy time for Mu Xue. He wrapped his coat around his hands and used all his strength to swat at the surrounding bees, using his own body to create a barrier for Mu Xue.
"Go quickly! I'll cover you!" he shouted, his voice hoarse but firm.
Mu Xue struggled to approach the herbs and reached out to pick them.
Just then, a giant bee broke through Ning Yu's defenses and stung Mu Xue hard on the back.
Mu Xue let out a scream, staggered, and almost fell.
Ning Yu's eyes widened in fury. He lunged forward, shoving Mu Xue aside and using his own back to shield her from the giant bee's attack. "Mu Xue, quick!"
With tears in her eyes and trembling hands, Mu Xue finally clenched the cluster of herbs tightly in her grasp... "Ning Yu!"
Ning Yu groaned, a sharp pain shooting through his back.
The giant bee's stinger pierced his clothes and dug deep into his flesh.
He gritted his teeth and didn't make a sound, but waved his arms, which were wrapped in his coat, even harder to prevent any bees from getting close to Mu Xue.
His body was covered with wounds of all sizes, and blood flowed down from the wounds, staining his clothes red.
He felt his strength draining away little by little, and the world before him began to blur.
Mu Xue clutched the herbs tightly in her hand, tears streaming down her face.
Looking at Ning Yu's body covered in wounds from protecting her, she felt a pang of guilt and heartache.
"Ning Yu, how are you?" she asked, her voice trembling violently as she choked back tears.
"I'm fine..." Ning Yu said weakly, his voice low and hoarse, "Quickly... quickly crush the herbs..."
Mu Xue dared not delay any longer. She placed the herbs in her palm and rubbed them with all her might.
The juices of the herbs mixed with her tears, flowing down her palms and emitting a pungent odor.
The scent filled the air, and the bees, upon smelling it, began to become somewhat chaotic, their buzzing growing noisy. They hovered and danced, seemingly hesitant about something.
