Chapter 54 Territory in Crisis, Protect It with All Our Might

"Something's wrong, the base..." Ning Yu suddenly stopped, his face turning ashen. He sensed a powerful energy fluctuation coming from the direction of the territory, accompanied by panicked shouts and deafening roars of beasts.

"What's wrong, boss?" Li Hu asked quickly when he saw Ning Yu's strange expression.

Before he could explain, Ning Yu pushed away his companion who was supporting him and said urgently, "Quick, get back to the base immediately!" With that, he turned into a blur and rushed towards the territory.

No one had ever seen Ning Yu so flustered. Realizing the seriousness of the situation, they all used their special abilities and followed closely behind.

From afar, they could see that the once peaceful and tranquil territory was now shrouded in chaos. Countless strangely shaped creatures, as if crawling out of a nightmare, were frantically attacking the territory's fortifications.

These creatures were enormous and agile, their sharp claws and teeth gleaming coldly, exuding a chilling aura. They relentlessly charged at the defensive walls built of steel and boulders, the sounds of impact, roars, and screams blending together to create a scene of utter carnage.

"How could this be..." Li Hu looked at the hellish scene before him, his legs went weak, and he almost collapsed to the ground.

"Don't just stand there, get ready to fight!" Mu Xue made a quick decision, drew her long whip from her waist, and charged forward first.

Ning Yu remained silent, his face grim and terrifying. In a flash, he appeared in the center of the battlefield. He swung his hands, unleashing a torrent of violent energy that blasted several monsters attempting to break through the defenses into pieces.

However, these monsters were simply too numerous, and fearless, advancing wave after wave, causing the defensive line to crumble under their frenzied attacks. Even more terrifying was the fact that these creatures seemed to possess an extremely strong resistance to supernatural abilities; even attacks as powerful as Ning Yu's could only inflict limited damage on them.

"This won't do, there are too many monsters!" Li Hu swung his giant axe, barely managing to fend off the monsters' attacks, but his strength was completely exhausted, and he had several deep, bone-revealing wounds on his body.

"Their weak point is in the head, attack the head!" Mu Xue keenly spotted the monster's weakness and shouted a warning.

However, even attacking the head has limited effect. These monsters have incredible defense, and ordinary attacks simply cannot inflict fatal damage on them.

Seeing that the defensive line was about to be breached, Ning Yu was extremely anxious. He suddenly looked up, his gaze locking onto an exceptionally large monster in the distance. The monster was covered in thick scales and exuded a suffocating aura; it was clearly the leader of this group of monsters.

"We must take care of it first!" A resolute glint flashed in Ning Yu's eyes. He took a deep breath, mobilized all his energy to the limit, and transformed into a streak of light, rushing towards the monster leader.

"Boss!" Everyone exclaimed in surprise upon seeing this, but before they could react, an even more shocking scene unfolded...

Ning Yu transformed into a golden bolt of lightning, instantly traversing hundreds of meters to appear before the giant monster. He clenched his fists, golden energy coalescing into a dazzling ball of light between them, unleashing a devastating force as it slammed into the monster's head.

"boom!"

A deafening roar shook the entire earth. The shockwave from the explosion blasted away the surrounding monsters, creating a vacuum.

However, when the smoke cleared, the giant monster stood unharmed. A mocking glint flashed in its crimson eyes, and not a single mark was left on its thick scales.

"How is this possible?!" Ning Yu was shocked. He had used almost all his strength in this attack, yet he couldn't even break through the opponent's defense.

Before he could react, the giant monster suddenly opened its blood-red maw, and a torrent of black energy surged out, instantly engulfing Ning Yu.

"Boss!"

Li Hu and the others in the distance watched with bloodshot eyes as Ning Yu was swallowed up by the torrent of energy, powerless to stop it.

The black energy dissipated, and Ning Yu reappeared, but he was now severely injured, blood trickling from the corner of his mouth, and his breath was extremely weak.

"Such powerful strength..." Ning Yu felt powerless; he had never encountered such a powerful enemy before.

What worries him even more is that the territory's defenses are on the verge of collapse, with monsters constantly breaking through the lines and rampaging into the territory.

"ah!"

A scream rang out as a superhuman was surrounded and attacked by several monsters, ultimately being torn to pieces.

"No..." Ning Yu's eyes were bloodshot, her heart filled with grief and anger.

He attacked the monsters in front of him with all his might, but his attacks were like tickling them, having no effect whatsoever.

"What... exactly are they..." Ning Yu observed the monsters while fighting. He discovered that although these monsters used primitive attack methods, they were fearless and had a strong resistance to supernatural abilities.

"Could it be..." Suddenly, a terrifying thought flashed through Ning Yu's mind, "What attracted them here?"

He looked around, his gaze sweeping across the chaotic battlefield before finally settling on the tall tower in the center of the territory.

"Could it be..." Ning Yu's pupils suddenly contracted. He sensed a strange energy fluctuation coming from the direction of the tower, and the monsters seemed to be surging in that direction as well.

"No, I have to go and see!" Ning Yu was extremely anxious. He knew that if he couldn't find the source attracting these monsters, the battle would never end.

He endured the pain in his body and rushed towards the tower, but the monsters seemed to have gone mad, desperately trying to stop him. Every inch of the land was stained red with blood, and he had to pay a huge price for every step he took.
