Ning Yu slowly opened his eyes, a glint of shrewdness flashing in his sharp gaze. He stood up, dusted himself off, and asked, "What did you find?"

"Captain, come with me!" The team member couldn't hide his excitement and turned to lead Ning Yu deeper into the base.

The base was a maze of structures, filled with cold metal walls and instruments flashing red alarm lights. A faint smell of burning permeated the air, the remnants of battle.

Along the way, the team members continuously carried out various supplies from different rooms: weapons and ammunition, food and water, medical supplies... and even a batch of brand-new protective suits, all of which were valuable legacies left by the "Sky Curtain" organization.

"Captain, look at this!" The team members excitedly pointed to a room filled with all sorts of blueprints and documents.

Ning Yu stepped forward and casually picked up a document to read. It was a research report on a new type of energy weapon, which recorded that the "Sky Curtain" organization was developing a powerful weapon capable of releasing terrifying energy, enough to destroy a small city.

Ning Yu frowned slightly, secretly relieved. Fortunately, they had captured the base in time; otherwise, if the "Sky Curtain" organization had successfully developed this weapon, the consequences would have been unimaginable.

Further in, the team discovered a heavy metal door with a prominent sign: Danger! High-Energy Reaction Zone!

"Captain, should we go in and take a look?" The team members looked at each other, their eyes filled with fear.

Ning Yu pondered for a moment and said, "Open it."

The metal door slowly opened, and a wave of heat rushed out. The room was brightly lit, and in the center stood a huge spherical device. Countless arcs of electricity jumped on the surface of the device, making a crackling sound, like a sleeping beast that might awaken at any moment.

"What is this?" one of the team members couldn't help but ask.

“Energy reaction device…” Ning Yu stared at the device, his brows furrowed, a sense of foreboding washing over him. “It’s connected to the entire base’s defense system…”

"Oh no! Captain, its energy level is rising rapidly!" a team member exclaimed, pointing to the readings on the monitor.

Ning Yu's expression changed drastically, and he roared, "Quick! Everyone, evacuate immediately!" However, it was too late... The electric arcs on the device's surface surged instantly, and the entire room was engulfed by blinding white light...

After the blinding white light, Ning Yu felt a sharp ringing in his ears. He shook his head violently, trying to clear his mind. Although the shockwave from the explosion was partially neutralized by the base's defense system, it still made his blood boil. Looking around, the once orderly room was now a mess, and his team members were scattered about. Fortunately, they seemed to have only been stunned by the shockwave and were otherwise unharmed.

"Damn it! I knew this thing was a disaster!" Ning Yu cursed under his breath, forcing himself to stand up despite his discomfort, and quickly walked to the energy reaction device. The violent arcs that had previously raged on the device's surface had disappeared, replaced by an eerie calm, like the calm before a storm, making him even more uneasy.

"Captain, what is this thing?" a team member asked, still shaken, as he got up from the ground.

"The mess left behind by the 'Sky Curtain' organization! If my judgment is correct, once this device overloads and explodes, everything within a radius of tens of kilometers will be razed to the ground. At that point, not only this base, but even our strongholds could be affected." Ning Yu's face was gloomy, and his tone revealed a hint of anxiety.

"What?! That's dangerous?!" The team members gasped in shock upon hearing this.

"It must be shut down immediately!" Ning Yu made a decisive decision and began to carefully examine the device's control panel, trying to find a button or program to turn it off. However, the densely packed buttons and indicator lights on the panel, along with the completely unfamiliar text labels, gradually shattered his hopes.

"Captain, look at this!" a team member exclaimed, pointing to a flashing red alarm light in the corner of the room. "The self-destruct sequence has been activated?!"

Ning Yu turned around abruptly and saw a digital display screen below the alarm lights, where bright red numbers were rapidly changing: 17:59...17:58...17:57...

"Damn it! The energy fluctuation just now must have triggered the base's self-destruct program!" Ning Yu cursed under his breath. He knew they didn't have much time left. He forced himself to calm down, his eyes quickly scanning the control panel, and finally found a hidden interface in the corner.

"A data interface? Could it be..." A glimmer of hope ignited in Ning Yu's heart. He immediately took out his portable microcomputer from his backpack and attempted to connect to the base's control system. However, the instant the connection was successful, a red warning box suddenly popped up on the computer screen:

"Warning! Unauthorized intrusion detected! Self-destruct program enters final stage! Please enter the deactivation password immediately, otherwise the system will automatically detonate in 15 minutes!"

Below the warning box was a complex password input field. The flashing cursor felt like a death knell, making it hard for Ning Yu to breathe. He knew a race against time had begun… Ning Yu took a deep breath, his eyes fixed intently on the combination lock, his brain racing as he analyzed its structure and patterns. At the same time, the base's defense system went into high alert due to the activation of its self-destruct program. Various automatic weapon systems began a frenzied attack on the intruder; gunfire and explosions filled the air, turning the entire base into a death trap…

"Rat-a-tat-tat—" A hail of bullets whistled through the air. Ning Yu dodged the attacks while continuing to study the combination lock without looking up. Time ticked by, the countdown on the digital display dwindled, and the shadow of death loomed over everyone…
