Transmigrator Ning Yu relies on his special abilities and a system to survive on Earth after a nuclear war. He meets the older, alluring Mu Xue and confronts hypocritical ability organizations, ult...
“What…what is this?” Ning Yu stared at the scene before him, his pupils contracting slightly.
It was a ruin, yet it stood out starkly from its surroundings. Ancient and mysterious runes were faintly visible among the crumbling walls, emanating a powerful and ancient aura, as if telling a story of a long-forgotten past. These runes emitted a faint glow, reflecting the visible energy fluctuations in the air, creating an eerie yet peculiar scene.
"Captain, I feel... a bit uncomfortable here." Zhang Qiang couldn't help but rub his arms and glanced around uneasily. Although the others didn't speak, their tense bodies and wary eyes revealed their unease.
Ning Yu remained silent as he slowly walked towards the ruins. With each step, he felt an invisible pressure bearing down on him. He crouched down, carefully examining the runes, trying to find some clues. He had never seen these runes before, yet they gave him a strange sense of familiarity, as if they were engraved deep within his soul.
"Captain, watch out!" Li Mo suddenly exclaimed.
Almost simultaneously, Ning Yu felt a powerful force erupt from the center of the ruins, forming an invisible barrier that repelled him. He groaned and staggered back a few steps before regaining his balance. A surge of blood rushed through his chest, and his already unhealed injuries seemed to have worsened.
"Captain, are you alright?" The team members rushed over, their faces full of worry.
Ning Yu waved his hand to indicate that he was alright, but his gaze never left the ruins. He knew that these ruins were definitely not simple and might very well hold the key to improving their strength.
He took a deep breath, enduring the pain in his body, and walked towards the ruins again, mobilizing all his supernatural abilities to prepare for the next impact.
"Captain, what are you doing?!" Zhang Qiang reached out to stop him, but Ning Yu stopped him with a look.
"I must go in and see." Ning Yu's voice was firm and resolute. He knew he couldn't back down, because he carried the hopes of everyone on his shoulders. This time, he didn't choose to force his way in. Instead, he gently placed his hand on the invisible barrier, closed his eyes, and carefully sensed the energy fluctuations within, trying to find a breakthrough... Time passed second by second, and Ning Yu's palm gradually felt a burning sensation, as if it were pressed against a red-hot iron. He gritted his teeth, and fine beads of sweat appeared on his forehead. He could feel that powerful force trying to repel him, but at the same time, it seemed that a faint trace of energy was slowly flowing into his body through his meridians.
He endured the excruciating pain, concentrating his mind, trying to guide the direction of this energy. He didn't know if he was doing the right thing, but he had no other choice. The base desperately needed upgraded defenses, and the ruins before him were his only hope.
"Captain, how are you?" Li Mo's voice was full of worry.
Ning Yu did not answer; he didn't even have the strength to speak. He felt his consciousness gradually fading, and the power within him was like a wild horse, rampaging and almost tearing him apart.
"Captain! Don't scare us!" Zhang Qiang's voice trembled slightly.
Ning Yu struggled to open his eyes, only to find everything blurry. The faintly glowing runes remained clearly etched in his mind. He wanted to tell them not to worry, that he was alright. But he couldn't utter a sound, only able to watch helplessly as his body trembled uncontrollably, and the world before him gradually plunged into darkness…
After an unknown amount of time, he finally regained a sliver of consciousness. He struggled to open his eyes and found himself lying in a simple room, with the anxious faces of his teammates in front of him.
"Captain, you're finally awake!"
How are you? Where does it hurt?
Ning Yu opened his mouth, but felt his throat was dry and couldn't make a sound. He raised his trembling hand to indicate that he was alright.
"Captain, you've been unconscious for a whole day and night! We were terrified!" Zhang Qiang couldn't help but complain. "What exactly did you find in that ruin? How could you suddenly..."
Ning Yu shook his head, indicating that he couldn't say anything yet. He braced himself against the edge of the bed, trying to sit up, but a sharp pain shot through him, causing him to groan involuntarily.
"Captain, you should rest well. We can talk about other things later." Seeing this, Li Mo quickly stepped forward to support him.
Ning Yu gently pushed Li Mo's hand away, his eyes resolute, as if he had made an important decision. He took a deep breath, slowly closed his eyes, and mobilized the violent power within his body.
This time, he sensed something different. The power seemed less violent, more docile, like a tamed beast beginning to obey his commands. He guided this power, slowly flowing it into his palm…
A pale blue light slowly rose from Ning Yu's palm, illuminating his weary face. The light wasn't dazzling, but it was filled with a strange power, making the air in the room seem to freeze. Li Mo and Zhang Qiang stared in astonishment; they had never seen such a peculiar sight before.
Ning Yu slowly opened his eyes, a resolute light flashing within them. He reached out and pushed the pale blue light toward a metal fragment in the center of the room. This fragment, brought from the ruins, was incredibly hard; even the most advanced laser weapons couldn't leave a single mark on its surface.
However, the moment the light touched the metal fragment, a miracle occurred. The metal fragment greedily absorbed the light like a sponge soaking up water, and a faint blue halo gradually appeared on its originally gray surface, spreading outwards at a visible speed.
