The female protagonist transmigrated into a novel she wrote herself, playing the role of a vixenish supporting character. In the book, she caused trouble until her death on the streets, and her act...

Chapter 13 I'd Rather Die Than Sell

"Oh dear, we've finally arrived! Lu Feng, look, haven't my legs been rubbed shorter?" Lin Wanwan wailed.

Lu Feng took two steps back and looked her up and down. "No, she's still so beautiful, and her legs are still so long."

"Hurry up and go in, hurry up and go in, I want to go in and browse," Lin Wanwan said excitedly.

Lu Feng led her around the courtyard. Lin Wanwan was like Grandma Liu visiting the Grand View Garden. Everything was new and exciting. The courtyard had five sections and a huge garden.

“It’s so beautiful, Lu Feng, this place is really beautiful,” Lin Wanwan exclaimed as she sat on the garden’s veranda. “I would never sell it in my life, not even if I died.”

Lu Feng found it amusing to see her swinging her legs like that. "Hmm, not for sale. You like it that much?"

"I love it, I love it, I really love it!" Lin Wanwan really loved this place. Besides loving the ancient buildings, she also thought about how much this house would be worth in the future.

“You’ve seen it, right? Let’s go transfer the ownership. If you like it, you can get someone to tidy it up. We’ll live in this courtyard when we go back to Beijing,” Lu Feng said to her.

"Really for me?" Lin Wanwan was still unsure.

Even after the property transfer was completed, Lin Wanwan still felt like she was dreaming. "Lu Feng, am I dreaming? If I am, then let this beautiful dream last a little longer."

"Let's go, there's still time. I'll take you somewhere," Lu Feng said, putting his arm around her shoulder.

"Where are we going?" Lin Wanwan asked curiously.

“Just come with me, I won’t sell you,” Lu Feng said, putting his arm around her and opening the car door for her.

Upon arriving at the location, Lin Wanwan looked around curiously. "A tailor shop? Lu Feng, are you taking me to make a cheongsam?"

“Yes, you like it, don’t you? We’ll make a few more to take over there, so you’ll have something to wear. My mom said the master tailor at this shop is very skilled. Take a look and make a few more later,” Lu Feng said, opening the door for her to come in.

Lin Wanwan went inside and started browsing. Seeing her browsing, Lu Feng went to find the tailor and chatted with him about making a custom-made cheongsam.

"Wanwan, come here for a second," Lu Feng beckoned to her.

Lin Wanwan walked over and replied, "What's wrong? The cheongsams here are so beautiful."

“Master Zhang, I’d like to order a few more items, seven or eight for each season, and also some shawls,” Lu Feng was about to say something when Lin Wanwan interrupted him, “Lu Feng, why are you buying so many?”

“We can’t get cheongsams made in Gansu Province. If you like them, buy more. Master Zhang is very skilled. He made the cheongsam you’re wearing. You like it, don’t you?” Lu Feng explained to her.

Lin Wanwan was happy to see him like this. "You're exaggerating. If I go with you to the military base, wouldn't it be too much to wear a cheongsam every day?"

"What's wrong with that? There's no rule in the military that says family members can't wear cheongsams," Lu Feng said nonchalantly.

Lin Wanwan explained, "I don't care what others say, I'm just worried about you being gossiped about for wearing a cheongsam so conspicuously."

“You don’t need to worry about that. Wear whatever you want. I won’t be affected by these things,” Lu Feng said, putting his arm around her shoulder. “Go ahead and choose. I’ve thought about it and I’ll make ten pieces for each season. You can choose the fabric and style.”

Lin Wanwan said, "I really like it, but won't it be too high-profile?"

"No, don't worry about it," Lu Feng said nonchalantly.

Ultimately, desire triumphed over reason, and Lin Wanwan chose only simple styles and fabrics.

Seeing that it was almost time, Lu Feng took his people home. The Lu family now lived in a beautiful three-courtyard siheyuan (traditional courtyard house).

"Shall I take you to see Aunt He and my mother first, and then I'll take you to my room?" Lu Feng asked for her opinion.

“Okay, okay, let’s go see it,” Lin Wanwan readily agreed.

Lu Feng took her hand and led her inside. "Do your feet hurt? You've been walking for so long today."

"It hurts! I don't want to wear high heels anymore, but I really love this cheongsam," Lin Wanwan said with a pained expression.

Song Lanzhi was pleased to see the two of them walking in together so intimately. Lin Wanwan seemed to be a nice girl. Their good relationship meant that her son had a caring person by his side, which made their lives better.

"Aunt Song, we're back!" Lin Wanwan was in a good mood today and entered the door with a cheerful expression.

Seeing her come in, Song Lanzhi quickly told the nanny to take the child away, "You take the child downstairs first, I'll come see him in a bit."

Lin Wanwan immediately said, "No, let me hold you, I love children."

The aunt looked at Song Lanzhi with some difficulty, and only handed the child to Lin Wanwan after Song Lanzhi nodded.

"What's your name? Lu Feng, did you choose that name?" Lin Wanwan asked him, holding the baby.

“His nickname is Tuanzi, and his formal name is Lu Ming, Ming meaning ‘to make a name for oneself’,” Lu Feng looked down at her and the child. “He’s very heavy, let me hold him.”

Lin Wanwan wouldn't give it to him, saying, "Let me hold you for a bit, I really, really like children, don't try to take it from me."

Seeing that she really liked it, Lu Feng said goodbye to Song Lanzhi and went out.

Lin Wanwan ignored him and spoke to Song Lanzhi, "Aunt Song, he's very well-behaved. He keeps looking at me and smiling."

Seeing that she didn't seem to be faking it, Song Lanzhi smiled and said, "This child is actually very loyal to people. Even Lu Feng can't hold her; he cries as soon as he does. But she's very close to you. Maybe it's really fate." Song Lanzhi paused and said, "Auntie used to have a misunderstanding about you because of hearsay, which is why I didn't like you. Lu Feng has already told me that I was wrong before, so please don't take it to heart."

Lin Wanwan sat with the child on her lap before answering her, "Auntie, please don't say that. I was indeed immature before. Please don't be angry with me. I have really changed now, and I sincerely want to marry Lu Feng. In the future, I will look to the future with him and take on the responsibilities of this family together."
