Lin Wanwan sat down and ate her steamed egg custard in small bites. "Sister, are you really not going to eat any?"

“I’m not eating, I already ate breakfast,” Li Mei said irritably.

"Sister Mei, is there something you need from me?"

"You still remember? I came to talk to you about work today," Li Mei suddenly realized that she had forgotten about the important matter because she was interrupted.

"A job?" Lin Wanwan asked in surprise. "You've got news so quickly?"

“No, I’m here to snatch her away,” Li Mei said with a smile. “When you told me about Liang Yuting that day, I didn’t think much of it at the time. But last night, when we talked about your work, I realized that it’s a pity you’re not working for the Women’s Federation.”

After finishing her meal, Lin Wanwan didn't even wash the dishes. She sat down next to Lu Feng, leaned against him, and yawned. "Where are Tuanzi and my little brother?"

“I went to the team with Wang Lin to play,” Lu Feng said, reaching out to hug her.

"Won't he have a bad impression of you if you keep going to the team?" Lin Wanwan asked him.

Lu Feng lowered his head and kissed the mole under her eye, chuckling as he said, "If you had asked me this before, I might have actually thought about whether it would have a bad impact on me. But now you don't have to worry at all. The whole brigade knows today that the commander is your uncle. Now everyone is eager to curry favor with you. How could that have any impact on me?"

Lin Wanwan asked in surprise, "Who spread the word?"

"Commander Gu himself said that as soon as he arrived at work today, he told everyone that my daughter is a good cook and very beautiful. Then everyone in the brigade knew that I married the commander's daughter," Lu Feng chuckled and shook his head.

"This morning I took Tuanzi out for a walk, and people in the compound came up to greet me. When did I ever get this kind of treatment?"

“How good is it? Then you’ll listen to me tonight,” Lu Feng whispered in her ear.

Lu Feng chuckled softly as he held her, without saying a word.

"Are you sure you want to go to the Women's Federation?" Lu Feng asked her.

"I'm not entirely sure, but I don't want to be idle at home. With Sister Mei working at the Women's Federation, I can bring Tuanzi to work and take care of the family at the same time, which is great. I'll switch to something better later. I was originally planning to ask Uncle if the broadcasting station was hiring today, but since Sister Mei asked, I'll just take the job for now."

"Okay, I'll support you as long as you're willing."

"You can't not support me, or I'll make a scene," Lin Wanwan said, puffing out her cheeks as she glared at him.

Lu Feng didn't say anything, he just hugged her and smiled.

"What are we having for lunch, Lu Feng? Have you gone to buy groceries yet?"

"I bought it. You wanted to eat sweet and sour pork ribs, but I didn't dare buy too many because it's too hot and I was afraid they would spoil."

As the two were talking, they heard a loud banging on the door.

Lu Feng frowned and looked outside. The two of them didn't rush to open the door, but the door was smashed even more violently.

Lin Wanwan stood up to open the door, but Lu Feng stopped her, saying, "Don't go. She'll leave by herself if no one opens the door."

"Do you know who it is?" Lin Wanwan asked, looking at him.

"Who else could it be? The Xiao family. Never mind them."

"Why not go and see? Some things can't be avoided."

Lu Feng shook his head and got up to open the door with her. "I'll open it. You stand in the back."

"What's wrong? Did something happen this morning?"

Lu Feng didn't say anything, but instead shielded her behind him and opened the door.

Li Chunhua, who was outside the door, didn't have time to stop and stumbled forward, almost falling. Just as she was about to lash out, she heard Lin Wanwan scolding her.

"Li Chunhua, what are you doing? Why are you knocking so urgently? Has someone in your family died?"

"What nonsense are you spouting? Someone in your family just died! May your whole family suffer a terrible death!!"

Before she could finish speaking, Lin Wanwan stepped forward and slapped Li Chunhua across the face, stunning her completely.

"You came to my house early in the morning and banged on my door, cursing my whole family. Do you think Xiao Hongjun's punishment wasn't severe enough?"
