Chapter 46 The Art of Deception is Great

"Yes, it's because of you. Look at you, you're gentle and generous, beautiful, and well-educated. I heard from Sister Mei that you used to be a nurse, right?"

Liang Yuting was overjoyed to hear her praise her for being beautiful and capable. "Yes, I used to be a nurse."

"Look, if someone is both beautiful and capable, everyone will envy them. You're also gentle and generous. If others don't bully you, who will they bully?" Lin Wanwan started to deceive when she saw that she couldn't reason with her.

"Then... then what do you think I should do?" Liang Yuting stammered.

"Why don't you try to be less gentle and generous in your personality, and be a little more calculating in your actions? Maybe life will be easier if you're not so gentle and generous," Lin Wanwan said, shrugging.

"Really?"

"I don't know either. Why don't you give it a try? You can't have everything. If you want a harmonious family, it's better to have some flaws in your personality. If you want to stay perfect and continue to be so beautiful and perfect, then you'll naturally have to sacrifice a little, like your family. You've been educated; you can't have your cake and eat it too."

Liang Yuting looked at her with a skeptical expression, "You're not lying to me, are you?"

"Why would I lie to you? Whether you're doing well or not has nothing to do with me. I'm doing just fine," Lin Wanwan said before sitting back down in her seat.

"Oh dear, I'm beautiful and from a good family, but I still end up being a stepmother. You can't have your cake and eat it too; there's always some sacrifice involved."

Liang Yuting thought for a moment and then looked at Li Mei, "Director Li, what do you think?"

"What Xiaolin said makes sense. There's always a trade-off. You've been to school, so you should understand that. Think about it first, and I'll go and try to persuade your mother-in-law."

After the three of them left, Li Mei turned around and said, "This is the only time I've been able to see their whole family off so quickly."

He Lanhua smiled and said, "Thanks to Xiao Lin, how come you have so many clever ideas?"

"I'm innocent! I really think so. Sometimes going against the grain is a solution."

"Are you sure you're not just kidding her?" He Lanhua asked with a disbelieving expression.

"Hey, hey, hey, how can this be called fooling around? This is called solving problems quickly and effectively. We have few people and a lot to do. We can't keep spending all our time on one thing."

Zhang Jing and Qin Shufen, unaware of what had just happened, pulled He Lanhua aside and asked her what had occurred.

Seeing that the three of them were chatting happily, Li Mei pulled Lin Wanwan aside to talk, "Let's talk about work. What are your thoughts? Tell me first."

Seeing her so anxious, Lin Wanwan sighed helplessly, "My dear sister, why are you in such a hurry? Give me some time! I'm still writing a report. I'll give it to you when I'm done. It's only my first day at work, and you're already trying to exploit me? No way!"

"Okay, hurry up and write it. Go home and write it. It's quiet at home. Give it to me when you're done," Li Mei said, poking her head.

"You said it, right? Well, I'm leaving now. Don't make things difficult for me."

After saying that, Lin Wanwan packed her things and left. It's so nice to have connections; you can even leave work early.

Lin Wanwan didn't go home; instead, she went to Xu Zhang's hospital to pick her up after get off work.

Just as she reached the hospital entrance, she heard a nurse rushing out. Lin Wanwan grabbed her and asked, "What's wrong?"

"Someone's causing trouble in Dean Xu's office," the nurse said, looking frightened.

"Where is Dean Xu's office?" Lin Wanwan asked anxiously.

"The third floor, the third floor."

Lin Wanwan let go of her and quickly ran upstairs.

I had just run up to the third floor when I heard a furious voice yelling, "I'm a soldier too! I'm sick now, and your hospital won't take care of me! I've risked my life for the army, and you're just going to abandon me and leave me to die!!!"

Lin Wanwan rushed over and saw a man in his forties, with a stubble beard, pacing back and forth in the office, looking very pained.

Xu Zhang tried to run away while he wasn't paying attention, but the man immediately pointed his dagger at her as soon as he saw her move.

"Old Zhang, calm down. It's not that we don't want to save you, it's just that the medical conditions here in the military region really can't help you with your illness. I've also suggested that you go to a big hospital in Beijing, maybe they can find a solution there."

"You're lying to me, you must be lying to me! Where would I get the money to go to Beijing? Where would I get the money? Where would I get the money?!" Lin Wanwan was terrified as she watched him keep hacking at the table with a knife.

"Hey, you're not lying to me too, are you? I... I... Last time I came for a checkup, you said I had cancer and told me to raise money to go to Beijing. Are you lying to me too? Why won't you save me? I'm so young. Are you deliberately sending me to Beijing?"

Lin Wanwan tried her best to appear a little crazy, and suddenly reached out and grabbed the man's hand, "What's wrong with you? I...I don't want to die! Please save me! I really don't want to die! I'm only 18 years old!"

As Lin Wanwan spoke, she grabbed his hand and shook it, "I have no money, how can I go to Beijing for treatment? I just got married, what should I do?"

Zhang Jiang's heart was even more confused by her shaking. He wanted to push her away, but Lin Wanwan was like a piece of chewing gum, sticking to him and holding onto his hand.

"Let go of me! Who are you?!" Zhang Jiang suddenly shoved her away forcefully. "Get out of here! I'm about to die, who cares about you?!"

When he swung the dagger away, he used too much force, and the dagger cut Lin Wanwan's forearm. Xu Zhang wanted to step forward when he saw this, but he was afraid that Zhang Jiang would lose control of his emotions and hurt her.

“Yeah, I’m about to die, why should I care about so much? I still have to do laundry and cook at home. Why don’t you just kill me? Aren’t you a soldier? You should be able to kill people quickly, right?” Lin Wanwan reached out to grab him.
