Chapter two hundred and ninety-nine

Seeing Bai Ying's stunned expression, Lin Wanwan sighed, "Don't worry about it. Brother Bai Qi isn't that easily fooled. Don't worry unnecessarily."

"Okay, I've only met Jin Ling once. She seems harmless."

"What if they are actually harmless right now?"

"I'll tell my brother when I get home tonight."

"You can say it, but don't embellish it."

Bai Ying looked at her strangely, "You still treat me like a child?"

"Don't you look like a child right now?"

Cheng Jinyan laughed and said, "You're the same; you're still like a child."

Lin Wanwan shrugged. "There's really nothing we can do about it. You guys spoiled them."

Bai Ying said with a smile, "At least you have some self-awareness."

"So what happened?"

Cheng Jinyan and Bai Ying first escorted Lin Wanwan home.

I could see Lu Feng standing at the door waiting from afar.

Lin Wanwan got out of the car and waved to the two of them, "Bye-bye, be careful."

Lu Feng put his arm around her and walked home.

"Did Bai Ying say anything else?"

"He didn't say anything, but after listening, he said he would tell Brother Baiqi. I told him not to exaggerate or interfere. Brother Baiqi isn't stupid."

Lu Feng chuckled, "Bai Ying and his brother depend on each other for survival, so it's natural for him to be nervous. Bai Qi is very smart; he certainly knows what kind of person Jin Ling is."

Lin Wanwan nodded. "That makes sense."

Looking up at Lu Feng with a smile, she said, "Go inside. Brother Bai Qi doesn't seem to need our help."

Lu Feng put his arm around her and said, "You should worry about your son."

"Which son? Has Xiao Jing gotten into trouble again?"

Lu Feng frowned as if he had remembered something. "Even if Xiao Jing really angers me, I wouldn't be that angry."

"That's Tuanzi?" Lin Wanwan was surprised. Lu Ming hadn't caused her much trouble since he grew up, let alone gotten into any trouble.

“Hmm,” Lu Feng’s voice was a little deep, “At noon, the teacher called my mom and said that he got into a fight with a classmate at school because of a girl. When my mom went to the school, she saw that the two of them were covered in injuries and was so scared that she called me.”

"Why didn't you tell me sooner? We could have gone home earlier."

Lin Wanwan was anxious and quickened her pace as she walked inside.

"How serious is the injury? Have you gone home or are you in the hospital?"

Lu Feng grabbed her, "Don't run away, you might fall in the dark. The doctor said you're fine, you're already back."

Lin Wanwan breathed a sigh of relief. "Why didn't you say so sooner? Tuanzi will be sad later. We came back so late, he will feel that we don't care about him."

Just as Lu Feng was about to say something, he saw a figure in front of him that was about the same height as himself.

"Mom and Dad, you're back?"

It was Lu Ming's voice.

After Lu Ming's voice changed, it sounded just like that of an adult man.

Lin Wanwan immediately stepped forward, "Are you injured? How serious is it? Why didn't you call me?"

"Mom, I called your cell phone, but it's off."

Lu Ming's voice sounded a little aggrieved.

Lin Wanwan took her phone out of her bag. "It was turned off. I'm sorry, Mom didn't notice. This crappy phone has such a short battery life. Tomorrow I'll have your Uncle Zhang find someone to research a phone with a longer battery life."

Lu Ming chuckled lightly, then glanced at his father beside him, who was frowning and looking serious, before suppressing his smile.

Lin Wanwan glanced at Lu Feng, then reached out and took Lu Ming's arm.

"Go to your room, let me see your injury. What are you doing here all of a sudden?"

"I'm hungry, so I came out to find something to eat."

Lin Wanwan let go of him. "Then I'll go to the kitchen to cook some late-night snacks. You go back to your own yard first."

Lu Ming glanced at his father, then turned and walked towards his own courtyard.

Lu Feng glanced at Lin Wanwan, suppressed his anger, and followed Lu Ming to his courtyard.

He followed Lu Ming into the house and glanced at the decorations inside.

Most of them were decorative items that Lin Wanwan specially bought for him, along with some models.

“What happened today? Aren’t you going to give me an explanation? You’re 16 years old this year. I used to say you were mature and steady, but now you’ve gotten into a fight and ended up in the hospital. Your mother was terrified when she heard about it.”

Lu Ming sat opposite him with his lips pursed, saying nothing.

"Are you dating someone?"

Lu Ming shook his head.

"You're not even dating anyone, yet you're getting jealous over someone else's boyfriend?" Lu Feng's tone was tinged with anger, and Lu Ming lowered his head even further.

Seeing that he remained silent, Lu Feng's temper flared up.

"Stand up!!!"

Lu Ming stood obediently to one side.

"What kind of attitude is this now? You did something wrong and you don't even admit it. Do you think you're all grown up now?"

Lin Wanwan made two bowls of noodles and cut some fruit. When she entered the house, she saw the father and son staring at each other with a tense standoff.

What are you doing?

When Lu Mingjia brought her in, she immediately lowered her head and remained silent.

"It's nothing, why did you cook so much?"

Lu Feng looked at the noodles in the bowl with fried sauce, fried egg and bok choy and couldn't help but drool.

"You didn't eat much tonight, you should eat something too."

Lu Feng glanced at his son across from him, picked up his bowl, and began to eat slowly.

Lin Wanwan placed the bowl in Lu Ming's hands, "Eat quickly, aren't you hungry?"

"Thank you, Mom," she said, her attitude a complete reversal from how she had acted towards Lu Feng.

Lu Feng couldn't help but glance at him; he hadn't even had time to react to the speed at which his expression changed.

Watching the father and son eat noodles, Lin Wanwan slowly ate the fruit on her plate.

"Mom, aren't you going to eat? I'll share some with you."

"No, I'm not hungry. You eat more, and I'll cook you more if you're still hungry. Do you want some sausage? Didn't you say it was delicious?"

Lu Ming shook his head. "This is enough. If I eat too much, I won't be able to sleep."

"How dare you sleep in bed?"

Lu Feng glared at him, furious.

Lin Wanwan patted him on the shoulder and said, "Go back after you finish eating. I want to talk to my son."

Lu Feng had no temper with Lin Wanwan and could only obediently nod.
