From a young age, she was exceptionally intelligent and excelled academically, becoming a god-like figure in the entire medical community. Every surgery she performed was a success. However, during...
"My God...you portrayed my character, Mili, so well! I feel so sorry for her. Maybe I should revise it a bit, so it doesn't have to be so tragic," the screenwriter said, sniffling.
She was so moved by what she saw that she almost cried.
Waaah, how pathetic!
Ming Jiayi smiled gently at the screenwriter and director, then said in a hoarse voice, "No need to change it, I think it's fine as it is."
"Quick, quick, I have some throat lozenges here, have one, have one! You must have been too immersed in the role just now. Your delivery of lines is truly impressive, I have to give you a thumbs up," the director of Group 5 said excitedly.
"Wow, Lao Zhang, I thought you drew a useless 3, but it turned out to be a big one!" the director of Group 5 said in surprise.
"Thank you for the compliments, but I'm afraid I might get carried away later, so please take it easy, okay?" Ming Jiayi said, her voice hoarse.
"Hahahaha, sure, definitely. With your throat, can you still film tomorrow?" the director of Group 5 replied.
Bai Li looked at Ming Jiayi with some concern, then went out, poured a glass of warm water, and came back.
"Here, have some water. Take care of your throat," Bai Li said, handing the water to Ming Jiayi.
Ming Jiayi smiled and nodded. "Thank you."
"Director, Director, Jian Qing is here!" A staff member rushed into the conference room excitedly.
"Jian Qing from that popular boy band?" the director asked rhetorically.
"Yes, yes!" the staff member replied, slightly excited.
"Is he here to visit someone? Or is he here to film a variety show?"
"Oh no. I forgot to ask." The staff member scratched his head and said embarrassedly.
"Go ask them now. If they're looking for someone to film a variety show, tell them to leave. We have enough people now," the director said bluntly.
"Director, I'm not here to film a variety show, I'm looking for people," Jian Qing said, standing at the conference room door.
Some staff members in the conference room screamed.
"Oh my god! Jian Qing is so sunny and handsome! A 20-year-old student is so young."
"Oh my god! Jian Qing, I'm a huge fan of yours, can you take a picture with me?"
"Me too, I also want to take a photo with you, sob sob sob."
Jian Qing gave the staff a weak smile. "Of course. But could you wait a little while?"
"No problem, darling."
Jian Qing quickly walked up to Ming Jiayi and handed her the things he was holding.
"Hello, Sister Jiayi. My name is Jian Qing. You saved me at the Star Entertainment Awards a few days ago. Do you remember me?"
Ming Jiayi stared intently at Jian Qing for a moment.
I must say, he's actually quite handsome!
How come I didn't notice when I saved him that day?
"I remember. Did you need something from me?"
"You saved my life, and I came here specifically to thank you. This is a small token of my gratitude; I hope you will accept it," Jian Qing said politely.
Ming Jiayi smiled slightly, "I didn't save you alone. I appreciate your gratitude, but I don't want this. I don't accept gifts, okay?"
"Huh? Then who else saved me? It's okay, these are some things I made myself, they're not worth much."
Ming Jiayi walked up to Bai Li and gently patted his shoulder. "He and I rescued you together."
"Senior Bai," Jian Qing greeted him politely.
Bai Li nodded. "I just handed her the defibrillator; it doesn't count as saving you at all."
"Yes, I would have been unable to save him if it weren't for the defibrillator. You deserve a lot of credit," Ming Jiayi said modestly.
"Hmm... something's not right about Jiayi and Baili," Mo Xing muttered softly, peeking out from behind the door.
She was just about to sit and wait for Ming Jiayi at the door when she unexpectedly saw Jian Qing. She immediately became infatuated and followed Jian Qing all the way. After watching Jian Qing go inside, she stood there dumbfounded at the door.
She finally came to her senses.
"Sister Jiayi, please accept it. The little kid has been carrying that thing so sincerely," the staff member egged on.
"Yes, honey, you just got discharged from the hospital, right? You came to thank Sister Jiayi as soon as you were discharged. You're so thoughtful."
Jian Qing's hand was still raised in mid-air, and his head was lowered, looking at the floor, without saying a word.
Ming Jiayi reached out and took the bag, then smiled somewhat awkwardly and said, "Thank you."
Jian Qing shook his head and said, "I should be thanking you. Sister Jiayi, Senior Bai, it's my birthday in a few days. May I invite you to my birthday party?"
“We’re recording a show,” Bai Li said.
Looking at the handsome young man's sincere expression, Ming Jiayi couldn't help but nod, "Come whenever you have time."
"Okay. Then, Senior Bai..."
Bai Li turned to look at Ming Jiayi, then smiled and agreed, "Okay, I'll come when I have time."
"OK."
Mo Xing was peeking in from the doorway when she saw that Jian Qing seemed to be leaving, so she quickly ran forward a few steps.
Unexpectedly, she didn't see it and tripped over the stool next to her, ending up in a close encounter with the ground.
The people at the scene looked at her with blank expressions, while Ming Jiayi took a few steps forward with some doubt, and then squatted down.
"Mo Xing, how did you get in here?" Ming Jiayi looked at her with a puzzled expression.
Didn't she just tell her to wait for her at the door for a while?
