The Duchess felt that given Xie Chang'an's noble status, there were indeed few people worthy of being his friends, and whether he had friends or not was not important.

Now that Xie Chang'an has gone to the palace to be the Crown Prince's study companion, she has made four friends all at once, and she couldn't be happier.
