After Turning Around, I Exploded in the Legal Circle

Chapter 121 The Huo Family

When Huo Zhongyuan was called in again, Huo Jing looked somewhat energetic, his face was not as pale as before, and even had a rosy glow. Huo Zhongyuan's heart tightened immediately, and he strode to the bedside.

Are you alright?

"I'm fine!"

Huo Jing reached out and took Huo Zhongyuan's hand, and said softly, "A-Yuan, while I'm still in good spirits these days, I'd like to meet your girlfriend, okay?"

Huo Jing's eyes revealed expectation, and Huo Zhongyuan, having guessed what was going on, couldn't help but nod.

"I'll have her take the earliest flight over right now."

Upon hearing this, Huo Jing smiled and tightened his grip on his hand.

"Xiao Yuan, Grandpa knows you're a good kid. Don't take it to heart by your dad. He's been spoiled rotten by Grandpa!"

Qin Suisui was just about to go out for lunch when she received Huo Zhongyuan's call.

Seeing the video invitation, she smiled and opened the video link.

"Senior Brother Huo, are you still in Beicheng?"

"I'm in the North City!"

In the video, Huo Zhongyuan had a furrowed brow and looked somewhat tired.

“Sui Sui, could you come to Beicheng now? The old man wants to see you. His health may not last much longer.”

Qin Suisui's heart sank. She knew what her senior brother Huo meant by saying that he hoped she would see the old man one last time.

"I'll book the tickets now, and I should be able to arrive this afternoon."

"Sui Sui, you don't need to book a ticket. Just pack your bags and head to the airport now. I'll have someone arrange everything. Call me when you get to the airport, and I'll have someone come find you."

"good!"

Neither of them said much. After hanging up the phone, Qin Suisui picked up her bag, opened the office door, and looked at Yue Hongxin.

"Assistant Yue, I'm going to Beicheng this afternoon and might not be back until tomorrow. Please contact me if there's anything at the law firm!"

"OK!"

Yue Hongxin quickly stood up from her seat, watching Qin Lu's hurried back.

"Why did Qin Lu leave in such a hurry?"

Upon hearing the sound, Wen Zong came out of his office and walked to Yue Hongxin's side.

"I don't know, it must have been an unexpected incident!"

Half an hour earlier, she had reminded Qin Lu that it was lunchtime, and Qin Lu had responded at that time.

Wen Zong frowned slightly, his eyes dimmed, and he looked thoughtfully at Qin Lu's closed office.

When Qin Suisui arrived at the airport, Huo Zhongyuan had arranged for someone to take her through the VIP channel and put her on the next available flight to Beicheng.

Two hours later, we arrived at Beicheng Airport.

As soon as I came out of the passage, I saw a tall and upright figure standing in the crowd. His expression was calm, with a hint of aloofness and arrogance.

The people around him unconsciously kept their distance from him.

An invisible void had formed around Huo Zhongyuan.

"Sui Sui!"

Upon seeing her, Huo Zhongyuan's cold expression vanished instantly, replaced by a faint smile.

"Senior brother!"

Qin Suisui came out with the crowd and stood in front of him. Huo Zhongyuan reached out and took the luggage from her hand, put his arm around her waist, and used his body to shield her from the crowd as they walked out.

"Sui Sui, you've worked hard!"

He tightened his arms around her, pressed his chin against the top of her head, his gaze gentle, and the tenderness in his eyes almost overflowing.

On the way to the hospital, Huo Zhongyuan, who was sitting in the back of the car, briefly introduced his identity in the Huo family to her.

“My mother was my father’s first wife. When he met my mother, he was probably the only one who rebelled in his life. He hid his identity and followed my mother to live in her city.”

His voice was cold and indifferent, as if he were talking about someone else.

"How could someone who had been pampered for decades possibly get used to a life of poverty? In less than two years, he couldn't stand it and secretly ran back to the Huo family."

"He may have thought about telling my grandfather that he had my mother, but unfortunately he was a cowardly and timid person. He went from being timid at first to not daring to do it later, until he met his current wife."

As he said this, a mocking smile curled at the corner of his mouth, filled with disdain.

"His current wife is a lively person. After several deliberate attempts to get close to her, the two naturally got married."

“My mother had me not long after he left. After giving birth to me, her health was always poor. When I was about to start high school, she finally learned my father’s address from his former friend and took me to the Huo family.”

"Fortunately, my grandfather was a reasonable man. He arranged for the best doctors for my mother, so that she did not become homeless in the final stage of her life and lived a normal life for a few months. I was also taken back to the Huo family and lived with him."

“He did not deliberately hide my identity, acknowledged my mother’s identity to the outside world, and always said that I was the eldest grandson of the Huo family.”

Listening to Senior Brother Huo's emotionless narration, Qin Suisui felt a pang of sadness in her chest.

"Senior brother!"

She reached out and wrapped her arms around his waist, burying her head in his chest.

Seeing her like this, Huo Zhongyuan smiled faintly and lowered his head to kiss the top of her head.

"Don't feel sorry for me. My mother never made me suffer when I was young. After returning to the Huo family, I lived a comfortable and affluent life."

"It's just that I lacked a father's love and didn't have a complete family. However, my grandfather always favored me, so my life was much better than most people's."

"What about your grandfather this time?"

Qin Suisui looked up at him.

"We might not make it through this time!"

Huo Zhongyuan felt bitter. He had always been aloof and kept his distance from everyone. Because of his mother, he had always been resistant to the Huo family. After he was admitted to university, he rarely returned to the Huo family.
