After Turning Around, I Exploded in the Legal Circle

Ten years in Huating have been turbulent, with behind-the-scenes capital always omnipresent. Beneath the calm surface, undercurrents always churn; lights flicker on and off, and human affairs ebb a...

Chapter 155 The Qi Family

Qin Suisui and Huo Zhongyuan, along with two others, arrived at the Qingfeng City South District Court as soon as they reached their work stop.

Perhaps because they had only been working there a short time, there weren't many people walking around in the courthouse lobby.

They had already contacted the court yesterday when they arrived in Huating and learned that the judge in charge of the case was surnamed Liao.

Judge Liao's office is the first one on the left on the third floor.

The office door was ajar. Yue Hongxin stepped forward and knocked. A male voice came from inside: "Come in!"

She pushed open the door, a smile on her face.

“Judge Liao, hello. I contacted you yesterday. I am Yue Hongxin from the Law Offices of Luo Dun.”

After exchanging greetings, she made room for me on the side.

Qin Suisui walked in from behind, greeting everyone with a graceful smile.

"Judge Liao, hello, I am Qin Suisui from Huating Luodun Law Firm!"

"Today, on behalf of my client Ms. Huang Wei's husband, I am submitting litigation documents to sue Qiyang Town Qishi Town Hospital for improper operation, which caused my client Ms. Huang Wei to become a vegetative state!"

As soon as she finished speaking, Yue Hongxin handed over the prepared litigation documents and evidence to Judge Liao.

Qin Suisui smiled faintly: "Judge Liao, these are our litigation documents. Please take a look!"

Liao Fu took the litigation documents handed to him, his expression shifting from initial nonchalance to seriousness.

I see!

They received instructions from their superiors early this morning regarding the latest resolution on the medical malpractice incident at Qifeng Town's town hospital.

The higher authorities have instructed the courts to earnestly receive every citizen who has suffered losses due to medical malpractice, uphold the rule of law and social order, resolve civil disputes with the utmost sincerity, and safeguard the legitimate rights of the people.

He looked up at the two female lawyers standing in front of him.

He had just been wondering what the point of the court holding this impromptu morning meeting was.

Now it seems that this was all foreshadowing.

Given this, he certainly couldn't afford to be complacent in the slightest.

Liao Fu closed the indictment and documents in his hand, a beaming smile on his face.

"Attorney Qin, we will investigate the authenticity of the materials as soon as possible. If they are true, we will notify you of the exact time for filing the case as quickly as possible."

"Judge Liao, thank you very much!"

Qin Suisui raised an eyebrow, surprised at how smoothly things had gone.

She bowed to Judge Liao.

"Judge Liao, the litigation documents have been served. We will take our leave now and await your notification!"

"Okay! You all go back and wait for my instructions."

Judge Liao maintained a smile throughout, and only after the two female lawyers from the Law Offices of Rodton Law Firm left his office did he pick up the phone on the desk and dial the court office number.

"Old Zhang, what was Dean Bai's purpose in suddenly bringing this up at the meeting today?"

Old Han sounded somewhat impatient on the other end of the microphone.

"Old Liao, why are you asking so many questions? No matter what the situation, just do what you're supposed to do and follow the procedures!"

“But I just received the litigation documents from Qiyang Town Hospital.”

"What?"

Director Zhang suddenly looked up.

"You said you just took over a case concerning Qiyang Town Hospital?"

His voice was high-pitched and sharp.

"..."

Liao Fu quickly took the microphone away from his ear, and he frowned as he picked at his ear.

Judging from Director Zhang's tone, it seemed to be in line with his guess.

Meanwhile, the Qi family mansion in Qiyang Town was eerily quiet, a stark contrast to its usual bustling atmosphere.

"You mean, the other party ignored your warnings and has already filed a lawsuit with the court?"

Inside the Qi family mansion, an old man sat behind a desk, the midday sun casting its light on the ground, stopping in front of the desk.

The old man's face was partially obscured by shadows, making it impossible to discern his expression.

The man standing in front of the desk lowered his head and spoke softly.

"Yes, Grandpa!"

"Yeah?"

The old man's fingers rested on the desk, tapping the surface almost imperceptibly.

"The Wei family from Beishi have already spoken to Qingfeng's superiors, requesting that everything be handled officially?"

"Yes!"

The man's voice lacked confidence.

They messed things up last night, and Zhang Laosi was arrested by the police at his own house this morning.

He tried to contact the bureau several times, but was turned away each time.

The acquaintance's tone was tinged with helplessness and surprise, somewhat puzzled as to why the Wei family had taken action this time.

"Is Wei Chaoyang trying to forget his roots? Is he really planning to stick with the Wei surname for the rest of his life and never change back to the Qi surname?"

The old man seemed to be talking to himself, his tone somewhat incredulous.

He gripped the handrail tightly, slowly rose, and walked to the man.

"Qi Wu, look up!"

Qi Wu looked up at the old man.

*Smack!*

A crisp slap rang out, and Qi Wu's face was turned to the side. He closed his eyes and lowered his head.

The old man's voice was soft yet melancholic: "Tell me, where did you go wrong?"

"My mistake was acting on my own initiative and concealing the truth from you!"

The man knew that his grandfather must already know what happened last night, so he dared not hide it any longer.

"No, your mistake was your ignorance and arrogance!"

The old man gritted his teeth and hissed.

"Do you think that the Qi family can do whatever you want in Qingfeng, so you dare to use your old tricks to intimidate and manipulate the other party without even investigating their background?"

As the old man berated him, Qi Wu lowered his head until it almost reached his chest.

"Now you've been proven wrong, haven't you?"

"I was wrong, Grandpa!"

"You are absolutely wrong, you are terribly wrong! Do you even realize that because of your mistake, the Qi family of Qiyang Town has gotten itself into huge trouble!"
