Faced with this situation, Qiu Jingwen was startled.

Shao Jian agreed to let him come to meet the so-called Butterfly. Why did more than ten ships suddenly appear in front of them? Undoubtedly, those ships were closing in on them. It was obviously impossible for Luo Xinyan and his men to escape.

One of the old men spoke to Luo Xinyan.

"Never mind me, kill this traitor Qiu Jingwen. The person who kills him will be rewarded with ten thousand US dollars."

To everyone's surprise, one of the old men laughed and said, "We've all been surrounded. Ten thousand US dollars? Who are you trying to fool? I'm not doing it."

The other old man was even more ruthless. He seized the opportunity and fired a shot at Luo Xinyan, saying, "We've lived in the Duliang area for over twenty years. We've almost forgotten our damn spy identities. You jumped over from the other side of the Little Bird, woke us up, and forced us to do dirty work. Today, I'm going to take your life. Consider it a meritorious deed."

Unfortunately, the man was old, and although the bullet was fired, it did not hit Luo Xinyan who was moving. Luo Xinyan, upon hearing the old man's words, turned around in anger and fired a shot, hitting the old man directly in the chest, shouting, "I traveled all the way to your small county town, but I didn't expect you all to turn against me."

As they were talking, Qiu Jingwen kicked her in the chest. Luo Xinyan lost her balance, and Qiu Jingwen swept his foot across her, knocking her down on the boat. The next second, he leaped up and stomped on Luo Xinyan's face, distorting her pretty face.

Just as Luo Xinxin was about to raise the gun, Qiu Jingwen stomped down with his other foot, causing Luo Xinyan to scream in pain. Qiu Jingwen bent down, snatched the gun from her hand, pointed it at her head, and ordered, "Stop struggling, or I'll break one of your legs first."

As he spoke, he pointed his gun at two elderly men on another boat and said, "If you surrender with your hands behind your backs, you might be able to get lenient treatment."

More than ten small boats had surrounded them, and more than ten long guns and short guns were aimed at the two elderly men. One of the policemen shouted, "Put down your weapons, put your hands behind your heads and kneel down!"

The two old men dared not disobey, so they obediently put down their guns, knelt down with a thud, and put their hands behind their heads.

The leader was Wu Dinghuai. He carried a pistol and jumped from one small boat onto Qiu Jingwen's small boat. He asked Qiu Jingwen, "Deputy Factory Director Qiu, are you alright?"

"No, no, it's fine. This woman came from Little Bird's side, so I'm leaving her to you."

As soon as he finished speaking, Qiu Jingwen raised his foot, and Luo Xinyan's pretty face was distorted by his foot. She was covered in dirt and grime, and her eyes were fixed on Qiu Jingwen, as if she wanted to kill this middle-aged man with her gaze.

Two police officers stepped forward, handcuffed Luo Xinyan, and took her away. The other two elderly men were also handcuffed.

The sky brightened again, and the gentle sunlight shone on the entire reed marsh, like a golden oil painting. A flock of birds, probably because of the gunshots, flew out from the depths of the reed marsh, some flying towards the blue sky and others towards the water shimmering with golden light.

After getting ashore, I walked a short distance and saw several police cars parked in front of me.

Wu Dinghuai said to Qiu Jingwen, "Deputy Factory Director Qiu, Director Shao is waiting for you. Get in my car and let's go together."

"Alright, I still have many things to report to Director Shao."

Qiu Jingwen understood that it remained to be seen whether the list Luo Xinyan mentioned was true or false. If the list was genuine, the spies lurking in the Jianghuai region could be rounded up using the names and addresses on the list without much manpower or resources, and the entire espionage case would be completely solved. However, if the list was fake, the matter was far from over and would become even more complicated.

The police car did not drive towards Duliang, but went directly to the Jianghuai City Public Security Bureau. This operation was organized by the Jianghuai City Public Security Bureau, not led by Duliang County. The county public security bureau only dispatched some police officers and arranged more than ten boats.

Upon arriving at the Public Security Bureau, two police cars took Luo Xinyan and the two spies to the detention center, while Wu Dinghuai took Qiu Jingwen directly to the Municipal Public Security Bureau. Inside the bureau, Wu Dinghuai led Qiu Jingwen to a conference room. Five or six people were sitting in the room, among whom Qiu Jingwen recognized Shao Jian and Chen Sheng, as well as two strangers in police uniforms, who were about the same age as Chen Sheng.

"Comrade Qiu Jingwen, are you alright?" Shao Jian asked with concern.

Qiu Jingwen wanted to blame Shao Jian for changing the plan at the last minute and suddenly arranging for people to surround the meeting place between him and Luo Xinyan. However, he quickly realized that the leader must have planned this arrangement in advance. He was just a spy who had been turned, and he had no reason or right to question the police leadership's investigation work.

"Thanks to the leadership, I'm doing very well."

"I'm sorry, this operation is being directed by provincial leaders, and there's nothing I can do about it."

After apologizing, Shao Jian briefly explained the entire plan and then said, "In fact, once Luo Xinyan arrived in the Jianghuai region, it was destined that our public security force would arrive as well. All her activities were under our control."
