Qiuyue felt a pang of grievance, and tears almost welled up in her eyes.

This was the first time in her life that her brother had called her shameless and told her to get lost!

You know, it's incredibly embarrassing and shameful for a girl to be called shameless.

However, Qiuyue knew in her heart that her brother was hiding something important, and his anger was completely understandable; he just wanted to drive her away.

On one hand, Qiu Yang suspected his sister was up to something. On the other hand, he knew that if he didn't go out with her today to clear things up, given his understanding of her stubborn temper, she might just stand in front of the dormitory door and keep calling for him. If that happened, wouldn't the dormitory staff laugh at him?

He thought about it and agreed to his sister's request.

"Okay, wait a minute."

After Qiu Yang finished speaking, he didn't wait for his sister's response and turned back to his dormitory.

He quickly changed out of his soaking wet sweatshirt, came out of the dormitory again, carrying two bottles of soda, and handed one of them to Qiuyue.

Qiuyue pushed her bicycle, while Qiuyang walked side by side with her younger sister, neither of them speaking.

By the time we reached the Huai River, it was already getting dark.

The reeds on the opposite bank, bathed in the last rays of light, resembled a faint oil painting, exuding a melancholic and mysterious aura.

Qiuyue propped up the bicycle, looked around, and seeing that no one else was around, took the biscuits out of the basket and handed them to Qiuyang.

"Brother, these are cookies from Sister Xiaowei. I heard you didn't eat lunch or dinner. Why don't you eat something first?"

Qiu Yang took the cookies, but then put them back in the bicycle basket for her younger sister, and said with tears in her eyes:

"Qiuyue, brother, I can't eat."

"Brother, Mom said that no matter what monsters or storms appear, we must face them."

Qiu Yang seemed to understand her sister's metaphors, but not quite. The storm was easy to understand, but what did the monster refer to?

"Autumn Moon, what monster?"

"A monster suddenly broke into the forest of life."

"You've read too many literary works, haven't you? Why don't you just say it directly?"

“Brother, I know something big has happened at home, it’s about Mom and Dad, but you can’t bear it all alone. I’m your sister, I’m all grown up now, I’m working and have a job. Whatever storms come, let’s face them together.”

I wonder if Qiuyue was influenced by Gorky's "The Stormy Petrel" in the textbook, because her words inexplicably carry a lyrical flavor.

"Qiuyue, you're still young. There are some things that I'm really worried you can't handle."

"Brother, I'm not young anymore, I'm only three years younger than you. Tell me honestly, are Mom and Dad involved in the barber's murder case?"

Qiuyue's words startled Qiuyang.

He was certain that his parents would not tell Qiuyue the truth.

But how did Qiuyue know that her parents were involved in Liu Xianghai's murder case?

"Qiuyue, what nonsense are you talking about?"

Qiu Yang denied it, her voice somewhat loud.

The autumn moon did not argue, gazing at the autumn sun:

"Brother, please don't hide it from me anymore, okay? If something happens to us, your sister will stand by you."

Qiu Yang still denies it:

"Qiuyue, what's wrong that you have to shoulder?"

"Brother, if nothing serious has happened to our family, why are you skipping meals and drinks? Why are you working so hard at work and playing basketball like a madman? What are you running away from? Explain this to your sister!"

Despite being only nineteen years old, Qiuyue's words left her brother speechless.

Qiuyue screamed in fright.

Qiu Yue's scream echoed across the Huai River, and several water birds flew past her.

Qiu Yang suddenly dove into the water, then popped his head up again and swam towards the deeper water.

She had no choice but to give up asking.
