An associate professor in life engineering travels to a medieval European fantasy world. Using modern biochemistry, he discovers that viruses, bacteria, and parasites extinct in human history are a...
"You noisy bastard, you're really infuriating!"
Clarence was stunned by the sound coming from below and asked incredulously, "What did you just say?"
Todd braced himself against the ground with his steel claws and stood up unsteadily. The mutation had already invaded his neck and spread down to his jaw, making him look as if he were wearing a layer of steel dragon scale armor.
"You constantly proclaim your worship of strength, despise the weak, and use the corpses of others as stepping stones to your climb," Todd's voice grew louder, filled with boundless anger and hatred. "But you will never know the miracles those seemingly weak humans in your eyes have created!"
With a powerful slam of his feet, the ground shattered into fragments under the force of the impact. Todd leaped into the air, charging towards the troll's head, and unleashed a full-force right punch.
Clarence, caught off guard, reached out to defend himself, but he did not expect the attack to be so fierce that it directly blasted through his flesh and broke his bones.
Rotten chunks of flesh flew everywhere, and black, purulent blood splattered across the ground.
Clutching his right arm, which was only held together by a few slivers of skin and flesh, Clarence let out a deafening scream and collapsed heavily to the ground.
Using the momentum of his fall, Todd performed a somersault in mid-air, then extended his right leg and delivered a powerful downward kick, slamming it into the troll's shoulder and knocking him to the ground.
With one foot planted on Clarence's chest and the other gripping his throat, Todd leaned down, grabbing the man's chin with an iron claw, and roared, "We humans have created spacecraft that can leave this world and turn planets tens of millions of kilometers away into human colonies!"
Enraged, Clarence swung his left hand and struck Todd, who was standing on his chest.
The latter dodged the attack with a push of his feet, leaped to Clarence's feet, grabbed the other's ankles with his two iron claws, roared, and used all his strength to spin around and swing the thousand-pound monster.
"Bastard! Put me down!"
Clarence's hands flailed wildly in the air as the world spun around him, his mind a complete mess.
"As you wish!"
When the rotation speed reached its maximum, Todd released his hands and used centrifugal force to throw Clarence high into the air.
After gliding through the air in a long curve, Clarence was thrown from one end of the arena to the ground at the other, accompanied by a deafening roar and tremor, creating a crater six meters in diameter.
Blood spilled from the troll's mouth. Clarence shook his throbbing head, trying to get up from the ground.
Using his speed-enhancing ability, Todd reached the enemy's crash site in just a few seconds, instantly standing on Clarence's body, swinging his arm and delivering a heavy punch to the opponent's cheek.
"We humans have discovered molecules, atoms, and quarks, opening up the world of the microscopic world! Our discovery of dark matter, quanta, and photons has revealed the secrets of the energy of the entire universe!"
Clarence's face was repeatedly pounded by the weakened iron fist, his skin shattering, blood and bits of flesh splattering everywhere like a fountain.
Todd, who had thrown an unknown number of punches, paused for a moment, panting heavily. Looking at the mess on his fists, he looked down at Clarence at his feet and said coldly, "We humans can create weapons that can easily destroy this world with just the push of a button!"
The mutation continued to spread, and one of Todd's pupils slowly turned golden.
Grabbing Clarence's hair and pulling his face close, Todd stared at the horribly disfigured face before him and growled, each word distinct: "The world is far bigger than you imagine. Only the ignorant remain oblivious to their own insignificance!"
Seeing the scene before her, Sabrina, her face ashen, jumped off the stands, drew her dagger, and strode toward the center of the duel.
A figure stood in front of her, blocking her way.
"Ratchet, are you tired of living?!"
Sabrina looked at the woman in front of her, her eyes seeming to spit fire.
Knowing the disparity in strength between them, Rachel's face turned pale. She spread her arms wide, blocking Sabrina's path: "If you want to pass, you'll have to step over my dead body!"
Sabrina shook her head incredulously: "What kind of magic does that person possess that makes you willing to give your life for him?!"
Rachel said with a bitter laugh, "Do you still remember Mia?"
Sabrina's pupils dilated instantly, and her hand holding the dagger trembled slightly. In just a moment, she regained her composure and roared hysterically at Rachel, "That's all in the past! Now, get out of my way!"
“I’m sorry, I can’t do it.” Rachel stretched out her arms, and the weapons and shields within several meters around her slowly floated into the air, protecting her body.
"You asked for this!"
Sabrina charged forward at lightning speed, her ghostly movements and rich combat experience allowing her to deftly deflect the weapons manipulated by her mind power with her dagger, slowly approaching her opponent's vital points.
As Rachel retreated, she controlled her weapon attacks and shield defenses, barely holding on for half a minute before her opponent found an opening and her defensive line completely collapsed.
Looking at the woman so close to her, Sabrina's eyes turned cold. She plunged the dagger into the woman's throat and whispered, "It's over."
bite!
A crisp sound.
A black feather slowly drifted down.
Sabrina stared in astonishment at her dagger, which was firmly blocked by a shield made of dozens of tiny raven feathers.
