Helping Rachel to sit in front of him, Todra pulled up the reins on the back of the chair and said with a smile, "Trust me, it will be soon."
Meredith opened her mouth, as if she wanted to say something more. But after some thought, she ultimately gave up on speaking.
Just as Todd was about to give the command to take off, a brownish-yellow figure flew across the mountain stream and landed above everyone's heads.
As the figure landed on the snow, Todd stared intently. The manticore he knew all too well, with a piece of amber-like 'stone' in its mouth, slowly walked up to him.
Taking the 'stone' from the manticore's mouth, Todd waited for it to gradually disappear into the distance before carefully examining the strange object from all angles.
On the surface, this 'stone' has the transparent texture of amber, and when you touch it, it feels three parts metal and seven parts rubber.
If you put it under your nose and smell it, it smells like ambergris from a whale, and it even has a rich fragrance.
Todd held up the "amber stone" to the sunlight and looked inside. The viscous black substance flowing inside sent chills down his spine and made his pupils shrink.
A deep, resonant voice rang in his ears.
"Half-human... Your small step has given me a glimmer of hope... This is your reward, and also your key... Use it wisely, and you can discover the essence of the species..."
Remember, I will always be watching you...
Rachel noticed Todd holding the Amber Stone, sitting on the griffin's back, silent and motionless for a long time. She whispered to him, "What's wrong? Did something happen?"
Todd turned his gaze to the object in his hand and said in an unusually low voice, "I think we've found the 'Tyrant'."
