Chapter 293 Returning to the Camp

Rachel instinctively wanted to turn around, but Todd instantly pulled her into the soul space.

"My Royal Guard, how did you end up here?!" Todd's eyes widened, his face full of confusion.

Rachel sat down in the swivel chair in the office, kicked her feet, and spun around in place, muttering, "How would I know?"

Todd paced back and forth in his office, hands behind his back: "Could something have happened in the Kingdom of Muxi?"

“I don’t think so. If something were to happen in the kingdom, someone would definitely bring it up at the daily morning meeting.” Rachel stood up, walked to the corner locker, and quickly pulled out a box of Ferrero Rocher chocolates.

What could be the reason?

“What other reason could there be? The people in the kingdom have been investigating your whereabouts relentlessly. We left Muxi City on the same day, so they naturally think I'm the prime suspect in your disappearance. Plus, your royal decree for allocating supplies was sent to the kingdom through my channels, so they'll naturally send someone to question you.”

With two chocolate balls stuffed into her cheeks, Rachel mumbled, "If you're going to listen to me, you should go back to Twilight City as soon as possible..."

Todd sat down and thought it over carefully. The reconstruction of the barbarian outpost was imminent, and the relationships among the people in the camp still needed to be coordinated. Logically, he should stay and take charge of the overall situation, but he had been drifting for more than five months since he left Muxi City. The time was indeed too long, and it was time for him to go back.

Seeing that Todd had made his decision, Rachel finished chewing the chocolate with a clattering sound, swallowed it with difficulty, and said with a happy expression, "Does this mean I can go back with you?"

“No, you must stay.” Todd’s words made Rachel’s face fall immediately: “Alfonso is loyal and brave, but he lacks flexibility. I’m worried that leaving him here alone will make things worse.”

"So, I'm supposed to stay in this place where I can't even take a hot shower and spend the whole winter here?" Rachel rolled her eyes at Todd.

Todd scratched his head: "I can assure you that a comfortable dwelling will be built just for you before winter."

Knowing Todd's character well, Rachel didn't doubt his promise and reluctantly agreed to stay behind in the Froststone tribe.

Immediately afterwards, Todd pulled Alfonso aside into the soul space and, after explaining the cause and effect of the matter, assigned him the task of guarding the camp.

After making the personnel arrangements, Todd left the Soul Space and began to direct the gladiators and his people to rebuild the barbarian camp.
