Chapter 325 Upgrading the Parasite Equipment

Looking at Boyle's spirit form, Todd turned to Rachel, who had just entered the soul space, and asked, "What do you think?"

The latter thought for a moment and gave the former an answer: "In the real world, the souls summoned by the medium will break free from the medium's control and return to their original places after the power ends. But in the soul world, spirits cannot break through the barrier here and can only wander within this space."

Todd stared at the pale blue ghost hovering overhead, a chill running down his spine. "Does this mean there's a dead soul living inside my body right now? And I can't get rid of it?"

After thinking for a moment, Rachel said helplessly, "There is a way that should work: have Deirdre use her psychic abilities again to send him out."

Upon hearing this, Todd rejected the suggestion without hesitation: "What happened last time almost killed the three of us. What if Deirdre sees Boyle again and loses control of her powers again?"

Rachel nodded, then offered another suggestion: "If all else fails, there's one last resort."

"What method?"

"Do you remember your battle with Clarence's spirit? Boyle's spirit is essentially a form of consciousness. If you attacked him in the soul space, you could have severely injured him and made him disappear completely."

Todd paused, then looked at the ghost drifting aimlessly in the air, his eyes filled with hesitation and reluctance: "Never mind... let's leave it at that for now."

Are you sure?

"At least for now, he poses no threat, and I'm quite interested in the human soul... so let's leave him here for a while."

Todd led Rachel out of the soul space and returned to Louzheng of the Froststone Tribe.

After visiting Deirdre, who was unconscious on the second floor, Todd returned to the tribal longhouse to begin handling the new tribal affairs.

As soon as Todd stepped through the gate, he saw that bastard Ackerman grinning at him with a lewd grin: "Boss, you're really energetic and gifted!"

"ah?"

“One against two, all night long, and you could hear the woman crying early in the morning.”

"roll!"

Todd kicked Ackerman, cursing inwardly: "Full of energy my ass! I almost ended up in my coffin last night!"

After taking his seat, Todd looked at everyone in the room and asked Alfonso first, "Where is the enemy now?"

"They set up camp ten kilometers north of the tribe."

Approximately how many troops are there?

"The regular army numbered over three hundred, while the auxiliary troops numbered around eight hundred."

Ackerman whistled: "These troops are almost the entire reserve force of the Kingdom of Ulster."

Kasper frowned and suggested, "Could we organize the civilians to retreat south? That way, our main force can fight without worrying about their rear."

“That probably won’t work,” Alfonso explained. “There’s an enemy cavalry unit patrolling the southern forests. If we try to organize the evacuation of civilians, we’ll inevitably be attacked by that cavalry.”

Todd said, "So now we face a problem: this war requires splitting up the forces, one to attack the enemy and the other to defend the camp."

Alfonso said with a bit of a headache, "The key lies in the allocation of troops."

At this point, Todd suddenly asked Ackerman, "Is there still no news about the weapons and armor from the south?"

The latter shook his head.

“Right now, the enemy cavalry has blocked the southern routes, so we can’t count on this batch of equipment for this war.” Todd rubbed his chin, somewhat helplessly.

Alfonso reminded Todd, "We only have twenty-eight Royal Guards, two hundred Gladiators, and one hundred Barbarian Warriors, which barely makes up an army of four hundred."

After repeatedly assessing the strength of both sides, Todd finally decided: "Alfonso, you will lead the Royal Guard; Casper, you will lead two hundred gladiators. Alfonso will be the army commander, and Casper will be the adjutant. The two of you will be responsible for attacking the enemy camp."

Alfonso hesitated for a moment: "Your Majesty... Chief, this way, only one hundred barbarian warriors will remain in the camp. In addition, the walls and arrow towers are not yet fully constructed, and the rear forces are too weak. How about I leave a squad of knights to assist in the defense?"

"The key to winning this war lies in one word—speed," Todd said seriously. "Our biggest disadvantage is our supply. The enemy has taken advantage of the fact that our camp is not yet firmly established, and their strategy is clearly to 'encircle without attacking.' As long as they block the southern passage and the shallow waters along the coast, they can completely cut off our food and supplies. Therefore, a swift victory is our only way out."

Seeing that Alfonso was about to persuade him further, Todd continued, "A single squad of knights cannot have a decisive impact on the overall battle. Rather than distributing our forces evenly, we should use our best resources to strike the enemy's main force in one fell swoop. Besides, it won't be easy for a group of wandering cavalry to take over this camp."

Seeing that Todd had made up his mind, Alfonso stopped trying to persuade him.

Todd then led the people in the room to discuss the next tactical arrangements and logistical support, and finally announced the adjournment of the meeting.

Before leaving, he said to Alfonso, "After lunch today, bring all your royal guards to me. Remember, take your dragon bones with you!"

Back in the building, Todd saw Rachel busy tidying up the lobby on the first floor.

Tables, chairs, and decorations were moved to other rooms, various experimental equipment was placed on large wooden tables, and a dazzling array of supernatural ability samples were placed on wooden shelves.
