Chapter 352 Unity of Faith (Part 2) shuhaige.net

After a brief period of shock, people gradually returned to normal and began discussing Todd's words.

Asgard?

"I always thought it was just a rumor..."

"What does 'reconstruction' mean?"

Listening to the discussions in the hall, Todd stood up, his thick tail behind him, his two iron claws raised high, and the image of Ragnarok was projected onto the center of the hall, eliciting another gasp from the crowd.

As the gods and their enemies perished together, and the universe returned to its desolate state, everyone in the Golden Palace fell into a long silence.

"The age of the gods is over." Todd flicked his tail and slowly stepped down from his throne, looking at the people kneeling at his feet, and declared loudly, "We live in a chaotic and disorderly world. The gods you worship never answer your calls! When you are starving, they remain silent; when you are plagued by disease, they remain silent; when you suffer injustice, they remain silent!"

The hundreds of people in the golden palace listened quietly to the words of the dark monster before them, each with a look of doubt, unease, pain, and... confusion on their faces.

Todd swung his iron claws, and scene after scene, voice after voice, appeared in the center of the hall. Unarmed civilians were slaughtered, starving refugees resorted to cannibalism, sick people with diseases lay dying in bed, and unclaimed corpses in the wilderness were devoured by wild dogs.

Todd looked into the eyes of a captured Ulster nobleman and asked loudly, "You all say that God is omnipotent and deeply loves his believers. Then I have a question: Is this how much God loves you?!"

"If God is omnipotent, then where were He when war, famine, plague, and death gnawed at the world like maggots? Perhaps some of you will see this as revelation, as a trial. But then another question arises: if God is truly loving, why didn't this trial fall upon those heretics and false believers, but instead persecuted you devout believers?!"

"Wake up!" Todd waved his hand forcefully, and the scene in the hall transformed into countless souls wailing in hell: "Those gods you speak of are either just empty talkers hiding in the air, or hypocrites who only care about themselves and disregard their believers."

"My ancestors, those former rulers of Asgard, perished because of their blind faith in power and indulgence in pleasure." Todd, surrounded by flames and frost, turned and returned to his throne, looking at everyone. "I have inherited the power of my ancestors, but I do not intend to repeat their mistakes!"

An elderly-looking shaman knelt on the ground and respectfully asked, "Great Son of the Gods, how do you intend to rebuild Asgard?"

Todd clasped his hands together, turning off all the images in the hall, and said, "First, I must correct the gods' biases. In the past, the gods' criteria for selecting heroic spirits and granting them divinity mostly focused on martial prowess. Those who died bravely in battle could enter Valhalla, but they never inquired about the cause of their deaths or their lives."

"And those who are born, grow old, get sick and die, no matter what good deeds they have done or what achievements they have made in their lives, are all sent to Hel after death to suffer the eternal night and cold winter."

Todd pointed to the hundreds of people in the Golden Palace and asked, "Don't you find this choice strange? One person, who was blasphemous, murderous, and wicked in life, can obtain a ticket to the Sanctuary simply by dying a glorious and heroic death. Meanwhile, another person diligently performs their duties, helps the weak, and fights evil, only to be sent to the underworld to suffer the frost simply because they died in bed?!"

Todd's words sparked a debate among the crowd. Some argued that the doctrines of the gods, which glorify force and conquest and bring war and death to the world, should indeed be revised. Others countered that these were traditional beliefs and therefore should not be revised.

Todd ignored the other people's comments and beckoned a mirror, a basket of stones, and a huge flat surface.

Staring at the objects before them, everyone present was dumbfounded. Someone asked curiously, "What are these?"

Todd pointed to the mirror first: "This mirror is the Well of Fate, which can show a person's actions and experiences throughout their life."

Next came a basket of stones: "These are the Stones of Good and Evil. They will judge a person's actions throughout their life as good or evil, and will adjust the weight of the stones according to the magnitude of good or evil."

Finally, there was that enormous platform: "This thing is the judgment seat, and it adjusts the direction of the platform according to good and evil."

“Even so, it might still be difficult for everyone to understand how they work. How about we find someone to actually use them?” After saying this, Todd looked around the crowd and spotted a young man cowering at the very back.

"It's you."

Todd's iron claws reached forward, and the young man was pulled in front of the mirror by a tremendous force from afar.

"No! I don't want to see this!"

The young man struggled desperately in front of the mirror, trying to escape this dark and unknown place.

Using soul invasion, Todd retrieved all of the other person's memories from birth to the present, transferring scene by scene into the Mirror's Realm.

The originally dark mirror surface changed, like a projection in a well, and the life story of this young man named Sanzhuola appeared completely before everyone's eyes.

As a child, Sandra rescued a deer that had fallen into a trap in the forest near her hometown. After this event was broadcast, a thumb-sized stone slowly flew up from the basket and finally landed on the side of the screen representing kindness.
