An associate professor in life engineering travels to a medieval European fantasy world. Using modern biochemistry, he discovers that viruses, bacteria, and parasites extinct in human history are a...
Rachel sat in her chair and looked at Todd: "'Mother Goddess' Eleanor is mainly responsible for the review, management and training of all members of the Legion of Discontent. Unlike Clarence, who manages the properties under the Elder Council, although she rarely 'shows' her face in public, among the three elders, her reputation is the highest."
Todd asked, "Is it because she's the strongest?"
“No, that’s not it.” Rachel shook her head: “If we’re just talking about who’s stronger, the most powerful people in the entire council are the two captains and vice-captains of the legion, but these two have absolutely no way to shake the position of the three elders.”
Seeing Todd's puzzled expression, Rachel continued to explain: "Clarence's position comes from his control over the businesses under the Elder Council. He uses the ability of 'Soul Link' to control and manipulate the words and actions of the business leaders, thereby controlling the economic lifeline of the entire Elder Council. Eleanor is different from him. Her position as 'Mother Goddess' comes from the submission of the vast majority of Legion members to her. Large numbers of warriors call her Matriarch and swear to defend her with their lives."
Todd pondered for a moment, then asked a question: "Why does Eleanor have the support of most of the Legion members?"
A fleeting sadness crossed Rachel's eyes: "Because she can give life to warriors, and she can also watch them rot and die in agony."
Todd rubbed his temples, looking rather troubled. "If everything is really as you say, then what is her purpose?"
“Eleanor had only one goal from beginning to end: to achieve immortality.” Rachel lowered her head, her voice low and lifeless. “Legend has it that she possesses unimaginable beauty and can satisfy all human desires. Theodore, the head of the Relief Society, was once madly infatuated with her in his youth. But even so, there is one thing Eleanor desires but cannot attain: time. She longs to escape the cycle of birth, aging, sickness, and death, to become a truly immortal being, but she has never found a way.”
Todd stroked his chin and said worriedly, "If Eleanor is in St. Guard City right now, things will get complicated."
Rachel shook her head: "No, she won't come. Putting herself in danger has never been Eleanor's style. She'll just stay in the distance, quietly observing how things develop, and only launch a fatal attack when things are completely under control."
Todd breathed a sigh of relief: "Then the people who appeared in Holy Guard City could only be alien soldiers of the Conflict Legion. The question is, what is their purpose in coming here?"
Rachel stood up from her chair, gritting her teeth and growling, "I don't know, but I'm sure that whatever Eleanor wants to do is never a good thing!"
Todd looked at her with surprise: "It sounds like you have a deep grudge against this elder."
“If Clarence is a wicked criminal, then Eleanor is an absolute demon!” Rachel’s nails dug deep into her skin. “Her sins cannot be atoned even by endless torture!”
Todd paused for a moment, then asked Rachel, "Is it possible to obtain information on all the members of the Council of Elders in Holy Guard City before the royal election begins next week?"
Rachel paused, glanced at the other person, and said, "I can give it a try, but I can't guarantee it will succeed."
“I have a plan that, if implemented properly, might solve the huge problem of Holy Guard City once and for all.” Todd gently touched the 3D model of the Magic Badge with his hand: “But there might be some risks.”
Looking at the badge, Rachel tentatively asked, "How do you plan to deal with the magical crystal that imprisons supernatural abilities?"
“I’ve done the tests. The size of the magic crystal is directly related to the strength of the binding ability. The larger the magic crystal and the higher its purity, the stronger the binding ability, and vice versa.” Todd said to Rachel with a smile, “However, to bind me in my Tyrant form, unless a large amount of magic crystal is used to heavily trap me, it will not work at all.”
Rachel still seemed somewhat worried: "Besides the threat of the magic crystal, there are also the warriors of the Conflict Legion, the royal army of Holy Guard City, and the Holy Knights of the Church. Although these three military forces operate independently, they are all potential enemies, and we have far too few manpower available..."
Todd winked at Rachel: "Who told you we don't have enough manpower?"

Froststone Camp, Tribal Hall.
Alfonso slowly opened his eyes, looked at the Valkyrie Ivy not far away, and said, "His Majesty's decree has been issued."
Ivy picked up the longsword beside her and said to the former, "My sisters and I will ride griffins and reach Holy Guard City in just three days. What about you?"
Alfonso first smoothed the wriggling parasitic limbs on his head with his hands, then put on his black helmet, slowly stood up, and said, "The warhorses of the Twilight Knights are all carefully bred exotic mounts; reaching Holy Guard City within seven days is not a problem. The key lies in the defense of the camp..."
Ivy slung her sword behind her back, widened her eyes, and said, "Let me tell you beforehand, I prefer a passionate offense to a boring and tedious defense."
Alfonso waved his hand: "Alright, as you wish, I will leave a team to be responsible for the defense of the camp. Besides, the military formation of Froststone Camp is almost complete. In less than half a month, the camp troops will be able to form combat power."
