Chapter 369 The Tyrant's Revelry (Part 7)

A roar that resounded through the heavens came from the tyrant's mouth, shaking the very fabric of the world.

Faced with such a powerful monster, humanity is like a dwarf before a giant, weak and powerless.

Seeing the sailors scattering in all directions, Number Twenty-One mustered his courage, condensed a fireball in his palm, and hurled it forcefully at the monster.

The blazing fireball had barely touched the tyrant's frost armor when it vanished without a trace.

The tyrant turned his head to look at the tiny and ungrateful enemy before him, and his huge mouth suddenly opened, unleashing a chilling blizzard that instantly swept across the entire ship.

The creatures standing on the deck were frozen into ice blocks, and large ice floes appeared even on the river surface near the ship.

The tyrant stretched out its giant claws and slammed them against the deck beneath its feet, causing the ship to rock violently. The frozen human bodies rose into the air and then crashed back to the ground, turning into piles of shattered ice shards.

Hiding behind the bulkhead on the ship's dock, Selma clung tightly to Hyatt, her lips, purple with cold, trembling: "Father, there's no way we can defeat that monster!"

Weak and powerless, Hyde nodded. He glanced at the tyrant searching the deck and said to his daughter, "There's an iron box containing the 'Resurrection Worm' in a secret compartment in the captain's cabin. Take it and get off this ship as soon as possible!"

Selma's tears instantly froze into ice crystals in the cold air: "No! Father, I can't leave you! Come with me!"

Hyatt mustered all his strength and pulled his daughter in front of him, looking at her with a resolute expression: "Selma, listen carefully! The 'Resurrection Worm' must not fall into the hands of the Church. You must bring it safely back to the Temple of the Mother Goddess! Also, tell your fellow believers in the Mother Goddess that we have misjudged the Church's power! If the Church can cultivate a monster with such destructive power, then we must reconsider the plan we initially formulated!"

Selma gripped Hyatt's sleeve tightly, shaking her head desperately: "Father! I can't just stand by and watch you go to your death!"

“Listen! My daughter!” Hyatt cupped Selma’s face in his hands and smiled as he said, “Death is not frightening. What I am about to experience is simply returning to the embrace of the Mother Goddess. What truly terrifies me is watching our people unknowingly march towards destruction! Therefore, I place all my hopes on you, to bring news of the ‘Resurrection Worm’ and the monster back to the Mother Goddess’s temple!”

Seeing Selma nod, sobbing uncontrollably, Hyatt smiled with relief. He patted his daughter's head, seized the opportunity, and dashed onto the deck. Standing before the tyrant, he shouted, "You damned monster! Come here! If you have the guts, try killing me!"

The tyrant stopped and turned to look at Hyatt, its golden beastly eyes reflecting a glimmer of light.

Hyatt looked into the monster's eyes, and after a moment of shock, suddenly realized he had made a terrible mistake.

The enormous creature before them was not the bloodthirsty and violent monster they had imagined; it possessed intelligence…

“Quite poor acting.” The monster’s voice was like a rumbling thunderclap, but it was clear and unmistakable in the Common Language.

Hyatt was completely stunned: "You...you can talk?!"

Seeing Hyatt's faltering steps and weary figure, the monster curled its lip, and its form suddenly changed. Its huge body slowly shrank, and a humanoid adult male appeared in front of it.

Upon seeing the familiar face before him, Hyatt gaped in disbelief and exclaimed, "You're that church deacon from the sewers!"

Todd, disguised as Felice Child, casually picked up a rag from the deck, covered his lower body with it, and pointed to the top of their heads.

Hyatt looked up and saw six griffins circling above the ship, carefully searching the area around the hull and the nearby water.

“I know you’re playing the role of bait.” Todd gestured towards the sky, and two griffins, carrying Valkyries on their backs, slowly landed on the ravaged deck. “I also know you understand the difference in strength. Let’s skip the embarrassing hostility and bickering and talk about a deal.”

Hyatt remained silent, trying to buy time while anxiously praying that his daughter had escaped.

To his despair, a few minutes later, a Valkyrie appeared before him, carrying the unconscious Selma.

Todd first glanced at the woman in Evie's arms, then at Hyatt's worried expression, and finally said with a smile, "It seems I've gained another important bargaining chip."

After using the magic crystal to control Hyatt and his daughter, Todd ordered the Valkyries to keep an eye on the two aliens.

He then changed into a clean holy robe and went down to the cabin below deck.

Pushing open the door, the first thing Todd saw was the corpse of a man in a gray robe.

The unfortunate fellow was struck on the back of the head by a falling wooden beam as the ship rocked, and died instantly.

Todd stepped over the corpse and walked inside.

Sinclair and Leoric lay on two beds in the inner cabin, both secured to the beds with ropes and unable to move.

Upon seeing Todd, Sinclair exclaimed excitedly, "Thank God! I knew the church wouldn't abandon me!"

Leoric gave Todd a complicated look and remained silent.

Sinclair struggled violently, pleading, "Felice Child! My good brother! Quickly untie me!"
