An associate professor in life engineering travels to a medieval European fantasy world. Using modern biochemistry, he discovers that viruses, bacteria, and parasites extinct in human history are a...
Seeing Cú Chulainn, with his wolf-like body and spider-like legs, rushing towards him at high speed, Todd flapped his dragon wings and flew into the sky.
However, after only a few meters off the ground, Todd discovered that no matter how hard he flapped his dragon wings, he could not rise another half meter.
Looking down, Todd saw that Cú Chulainn had tightly wrapped his hind limbs with his tentacles, making it impossible for him to move.
With a creaking sound, Cú Chulainn's eight spider legs dug deep into the soil, and his whole body leaned back desperately, pulling the black dragon flying in the air closer to him meter by meter.
Enraged, Todd turned the dragon's head and let out a clear dragon roar. Then, he spat a fireball at the monster's massive body.
With a deafening roar, the fireball struck Cú Chulainn squarely in the chest, and the resulting flames instantly engulfed the monster's entire body.
The intense heat scorched Cú Chulainn's entire body, and a burnt stench emanated from its fur, tentacles, and skin.
In pain, Cú Chulainn released his tentacles, took a few steps back, and began to frantically pat the burning parts of his body with his forelimbs.
Taking advantage of the opportunity, Todd flapped his wings and soared into the air, widening the distance between himself and Cú Chulainn.
Using his Eagle Eye ability, Todd carefully observed the roaring and running monster below.
Cú Chulainn's body still bore the marks of burns, with charred parts still emitting white smoke; the flames clearly appeared to be his weakness.
Understanding all this, Todd began to use his height and speed advantage, first circling high in the sky, then seizing the opportunity to use his speed ability to launch a dive attack, hurling fireballs at his opponent one after another.
Two tyrants, one with wings and the other without, one with superhuman speed and the other slow-moving, when they fought, the difference in strength was immediately apparent.
Cú Chulainn desperately stretched out his tentacles, aiming them towards the sky, but unfortunately, the tentacles were of limited length, reaching only seven or eight meters into the air at most; beyond that, they were beyond his reach.
Each time Todd swooped down, his figure was like a bolt of lightning, and just as Cú Chulainn leaped up to attack, he was always able to escape the opponent's attack range in time.
A fireball struck Cú Chulainn once more. Todd hovered in mid-air, taking a short rest while glancing at the dying monster in the arena.
Cú Chulainn's body was covered in traces of explosions and flames, with broken tentacles scattered all over the ground, two spider legs blown off his body, and deep yellow pus flowing from his injured compound eyes.
If four or five more fireballs hit, the monster in front of us will be completely defeated.
With this thought in mind, Todd suddenly felt something was strange.
Cú Chulainn's second form, Tyrant, doesn't seem to be as threatening as expected. From beginning to end, this wolf-bodied, spider-legged creature never seems to use any particularly threatening moves.
That said, what kind of superpowers does Cú Chulainn, the tyrant, possess?
Just as Todd was thinking this, right under his nose, the critically wounded and dying Cú Chulainn suddenly moved.
Suddenly, it rushed onto the audience seats, used its long tentacles to grab a corpse, and stuffed it directly into its mouth.
Amidst the sounds of flying flesh and shattered bones, what happened next left Todd speechless with shock.
After devouring the corpse, Cú Chulainn's wounds slowly healed, and the severed tentacles grew back... Most importantly, its body became even larger than before.
Cú Chulainn then swallowed a second and a third corpse, and his body began to grow at a visible rate as he devoured more bodies.
By the time Cú Chulainn had swallowed nearly twenty corpses, its body had grown from a dozen meters to almost twenty meters in length.
Todd suddenly realized that Cú Chulainn, the tyrant, possessed the ability of "devouring." By consuming any organic life form, it could continuously grow its own body.
Understanding all this, Todd hurriedly swooped down from the air towards Cú Chulainn.
Three fireballs, fired in rapid succession, were unleashed from the black dragon's mouth and slammed into Cú Chulainn's body.
The latter was instantly engulfed in flames. After letting out a deafening roar, Cú Chulainn swallowed the two corpses on his tentacles into the wolf's mouth. His burned body healed instantly, and there was no trace of injury left.
Damn it!
Seeing this, Todd realized that continuing to attack like this was not a solution!
The damage he could inflict was nowhere near the speed at which Cú Chulainn devoured him!
Todd made a quick decision and changed tactics.
He opened his dragon mouth, pointed it downwards, and spat out a pillar of fire more than half a meter in diameter.
This time, however, the target wasn't Cú Chulainn, but the corpses in the stands.
Following the path of the burning pillar, the corpses that encountered the fire were burned into charred remains, and Cú Chulainn suddenly had no 'food' to eat.
But the arena contained thousands of corpses, and no matter how hard Todd tried to burn them, he could only burn a small portion of them. He had no way of stopping Cú Chulainn from devouring the rest.
As Cú Chulainn devoured more and more corpses, and their sizes grew larger and larger, Todd, who was extremely anxious but also exhausted, gradually felt a sense of despair.
If this continues, Cú Chulainn, with his ability to devour, will become an invincible behemoth.
Moreover, this irrational creature will indiscriminately attack every city on the continent and devour every creature it sees, turning them into nourishment for its power.
