Chapter 477 Reunion

Harkins took Alfonso for a stroll around Twilight City and then enjoyed a delicious meal at the Sisters Inn.

After doing all this, Huggins took Alfonso and drove to an abandoned shipyard in the port area.

Seeing that Alfonso was still frowning and looking sullen, Hudgens asked, "What's wrong? Still thinking about what happened earlier?"

Alfonso raised his head: "I understand what you've said about land consolidation. However, His Majesty's original intention in establishing the Kingdom of Muxi was to create a safe haven for all those who were oppressed and abandoned. Today, this despicable act of seizing land from farmers runs counter to His Majesty's ideals."

Huggins shook his head helplessly. He knew that Alfonso was a bit stubborn and inflexible, and arguing with him too much would only have the opposite effect, so he simply changed the subject: "Look ahead, we've arrived."

Alfonso stuck his head out of the carriage, looking at the deserted shipyard in the twilight, and asked suspiciously, "Why did you bring me here?"

"Didn't His Majesty instruct you to take some people from Muxi City to the north?"

"Those people... live here?!"

Huggins nodded, ordered the coachman to drive the carriage to the shipyard gate, then jumped off and walked forward.

Alfonso followed behind Huggins, shaking his head as he looked at the desolate landscape around him. "All I can see are ruins. It's probably been years since anyone came here."

Huggins walked to a collapsed iron gate, took a badge from his chest, placed it in the groove on the gate, and then twisted the badge forcefully.

With a low, grating creak, the collapsed iron gate automatically parted to reveal a spiraling steel staircase leading downwards.

Staring blankly at everything before him, Alfonso asked incredulously, "Those people... live underground?"

Huggins gestured to Alfonso to "come with me," then slipped through the iron gate and began walking down the stairs.

The two walked down the dimly lit stairs for about seven or eight minutes, and the sound of the tide became clearer and clearer in their ears.

Finally, after climbing the last step, Alfonso stepped onto solid ground.

He looked at the cave in front of him and couldn't help but let out a low gasp.

The cave in front of us is hundreds of meters high, with stone houses of all sizes carved into the rock walls, and each stone house is connected by a wooden walkway.

Hundreds and thousands of people were busy with their own tasks in various parts of the cave.

At the very bottom of the cave is a man-made dry dock, where two black warships are quietly placed.

One was a single-masted warship, only eighteen meters long; the other was thirty-six meters long, but only the skeletal structure was completed, and traces of construction remained.

"There's actually a shipyard underground in Muxi City?!"

Hearing Alfonso's question, Huggins smiled and said, "This is the most secret stronghold in Twilight City, and the ships built here are the most powerful weapons in Twilight City... However, what I want you to see today is not the ship, but him."

Following the direction Huggins pointed, Alfonso saw a thin man being guarded by two alien knights, inspecting the hull.

"Wayne Dunlop..."

Huggins nodded and said, "That's right, it's him. He's the first on the list His Majesty asked you to take away."

The two approached Wayne and heard him shouting to the apprentices, "Pay attention to the laying of the Tesla parasites and the piping, don't let it affect the interconnection between modules! Also, have those scholars test the voltage again!"

Huggins walked up behind Wayne and said to him, "Mr. Dunlop, your escorts have arrived."

Wayne turned around and saw Alfonso, who was covered in black armor and carrying a greatsword. He was stunned for a moment, then said helplessly, "Your Majesty still doesn't trust me and insists on sending me to the north?"

Alfonso said in a deep voice, "His Majesty needs you in the North."

Wayne straightened his clothes, glanced at the two knights beside him, and said, "Let me go back and pack some things, then we'll be on our way."

Huggins waved his hand: "No rush, there are other people on the list besides you."

Wayne sighed, "I knew it, those three guys weren't going anywhere."

Following Wayne, Alfonso headed toward the underground laboratory, passing through a long corridor and down a winding escalator. To his astonishment, he saw a two-meter-tall, strong orc with green skin.

Alfonso's reflexes in the face of an unknown threat instantly put him into combat mode.

He stood with one foot in front of the other, quickly took the greatsword from behind him, and assumed a defensive stance.

Huggins smiled and patted Alfonso on the shoulder: "Relax, relax. That big green-skinned guy you see is the second person on the list—Carol Antarevic; and the werewolf standing by the door, fiddling with throwing knives, is the third person, Aldnan Cort."

Alfonso frowned as he looked ahead: "Them, their appearance... what's going on?!"

Huggins gestured toward Wayne: "You'll have to ask him about this."

Alfonso glanced at Wayne, who remained expressionless, and asked, "It seems there's a fourth person, named... Barbara?"

"careful!"

Huggins grabbed Alfonso's arm, forcing him to crouch down.

A fireball the size of a face plate flew past Alfonso's head, struck the wall behind the group, and exploded into a burst of intense flames.
