An associate professor in life engineering travels to a medieval European fantasy world. Using modern biochemistry, he discovers that viruses, bacteria, and parasites extinct in human history are a...
Meredith rested his chin on his hand, speaking thoughtfully, “I know some of the things you did in Froststone. You made the people of Froststone believe you were a descendant of the gods, that you had the power to guide their souls to the realm of the gods. Furthermore, you told them that in the afterlife, there is something called the ‘Scales of Fate.’ Every dead person will weigh their good and evil deeds before these scales. If they have more good deeds, they ascend to the realm of the gods; if they have more evil deeds, they are dragged to hell by demons…”
Meredith raised her head, her eyes shining as she looked at Todd: "I always thought you were doing these things to better consolidate your rule, but now it seems that you have actually been working towards the establishment of the Utopian Kingdom all along?"
Todd closed his eyes and nodded gently.
“Todd…” Meredith stood up and said, moved, “My master Scáthach was right about one thing: you are indeed different from others…”
Todd lowered his dragon head and leaned closer to Meredith: "I have been working hard and trying to implement the Utopian plan for Froststone City, but I cannot guarantee its success. That's why I led Twilight City and Froststone City down two completely opposite paths, in order to see which path can avoid the extinction of species and bring a glorious future for civilization."
Meredith smiled and lifted the raven mask covering the upper half of her face, revealing her true appearance: clear, bright lake-blue pupils, cherry-like thin lips, and elegant yet alluring facial curves, which stunned Todd.
Unlike the beauty of women seen in everyday life, Meredith's beauty has an ethereal, dreamlike quality. She possesses a unique aura, one that is neither quite noble nor overtly alluring. To truly describe her, this woman is like a rare and exquisite celestial flower, growing in a secluded, misty valley. You can see her, yet you cannot touch her.
“In these thousand years, I have seen countless people who wanted to change the world. Some were driven by selfish desires, some by the pursuit of immortality, and some simply by pleasure. But a wise man like you, who tirelessly strives for the continuation of civilization, is truly rare…”
Meredith tiptoed and smiled as she gently kissed Todd's dragon jaw: "I am very curious and excited about the future you have described. If you are willing, I will help you walk through this dark road before dawn."
Meredith's sudden kiss surprised Todd.
But soon, he suddenly discovered some unusual information between the lines of the other person's words.
Imperial Council, Imperial Consul, The Millennium...
Todd stared at Meredith's face, and, on a whim, asked softly, "Which country exactly did you mean by the empire you just mentioned?"
Meredith smiled gently, her refined elegance beyond compare, her voice as cold as frost and snow: "Which other empire could it be? Of course, it's the Taro Empire from a thousand years ago."
