Chapter 493 Old Acquaintance

Todd asked in surprise, "You can speak Semitic languages?"

“Not much, but enough.” Rachel moved through the city with practiced ease, every alley and every hidden door feeling as familiar to her as her own backyard.

It took the two about half an hour to finally arrive at the door of a run-down tavern.

I saw a drunk man lying at the entrance of the tavern, coughing loudly while clutching a bottle of liquor, with vomit spilling from the corner of his mouth.

Todd pursed his lips and nose, trying his best not to let his stomach be affected by the sour smell in the air.

Rachel pushed open the door to the tavern and walked behind the bar in the dimly lit, shabby shack. She shook the drowsy tavern owner awake and whispered a few words to him.

The tavern owner, who had been looking dejected with a full beard, suddenly perked up. He nimbly walked to the back kitchen and tapped the floor a few times.

Watching all this, Todd was quite curious. He had begun to wonder repeatedly who Rachel wanted to meet.

Following the tavern owner, Todd and Rachel entered a secret passage in the cellar and eventually arrived at a collapsed basement.

Pushing open a half-closed wooden door, a simply dressed girl peeked out from the crack and looked at the crowd outside.

When the girl saw Rachel and Todd's faces clearly, her eyes widened involuntarily, and she exclaimed softly, "Oh my god!"

Todd looked at the unfamiliar girl and asked curiously, "Do you know me?"

"The ruler of the Kingdom of Twilight, the son of the gods of the Northern Lands, the savior of other races..."

The girl gave Todd a standard greeting and said with a smile, "We meet again."

Just as Todd looked confused, Rachel revealed the answer: "This is Sabrina, the third in line to join the Legion of Strife, an old acquaintance of yours."
