An associate professor in life engineering travels to a medieval European fantasy world. Using modern biochemistry, he discovers that viruses, bacteria, and parasites extinct in human history are a...
Upon reaching the summit of that sacred mountain, the visitors from Muxi City discovered that the original five-colored dragon had vanished, leaving only a solitary human standing there quietly waiting for them.
As he walked through the thick fog, Emerson finally saw the familiar face before him. His initial anxiety subsided, and he felt a surge of excitement.
"His Majesty……"
Todd smiled at the group and nodded, saying, "It seems that only a small number of you have made it to the end."
Terence sighed: "The many worlds in Heaven have held an endless attraction for others along the way."
Elijah's face was filled with devout longing, and he asked impatiently, "Is this the center of heaven, the hub of all things?"
Todd waved, and the rocks on the mountaintop began to deform and rise, gradually transforming into stone chairs.
He sat down in a chair and said to everyone, “If you have faith in your heart, then any place will be the center of the universe.”
Aisha, her eyes red, slowly walked up to Todd and softly said, "My father?"
Todd looked at the female pirate with heterochromia and shook his head: "The trial of souls has its rules. When the accumulation of evil deeds exceeds the impact of good deeds, hell will be the only destination for the person being judged... Even if a person's evil deeds have a just and perfect reason, that is not an excuse for him to enter heaven."
Aisha stood before Todd, her eyes closed, and said tremblingly, "My father, will he suffer in hell forever?"
"When he truly sees the sins caused by killing and violence and repents for them, his soul will have the opportunity for redemption. However, for now, he will remain in hell for a long time."
Aisha breathed a soft sigh of relief: "I understand. There's one last question. Can I see my mother while I'm here?"
Todd paused for a moment, then shook his head after thinking for a moment and said, "Aisha, I'm afraid you won't be able to see her right now..."
Disappointment was evident on Aisha's face. She said nothing more and slowly retreated to the back.
Among the crowd, Edgar and Jerry, the two sworn brothers who had followed Todd since the monastery, seemed to have something to say, but they didn't know how to bring it up. In their helplessness, they looked anxious and scratching their heads.
Todd noticed them and said with a smile, "What would you like to ask?"
Edgar and Jerry exchanged a glance, and the former asked hesitantly in a low voice, "Your Majesty... I mean, the Holy King, you should actually be the one in the Bible...?"
Todd didn't answer his question directly, but simply said casually, "A name is just a symbol, and identity is just a so-called definition. These things are not important."
Edgar's face lit up with a look of sudden realization, then he winked at Todd, as if he knew exactly what was going on.
Beside the two of them, Karin Forman stood alone, secretly glancing at Todd, seemingly with a thousand words on her lips, yet unable to find the words to speak.
Looking at the girl he had first met and who had opened her heart to him first, Todd took a step closer to her, only to find that she was like a frightened little animal, constantly backing away. Helpless, he could only let out a faint sigh.
Emerson looked at Todd, somewhat embarrassed, and said, "Your Majesty... how should I address you...?"
"I have said before that a name and identity are just symbols and are not important."
Emerson glanced back at his followers, composed himself, took two steps closer to Todd, and said in a voice only the two of them could hear, "I have a question. What is the connection between the world called Earth that you show on the computer during each Soul Meeting and this Heaven before us?"
Todd was somewhat surprised by Emerson's question, but he nodded in response.
"The Earth I come from is a completely unfamiliar and independent space to you. As a member of that world, I am able to create, manage and expand an endless space to accommodate the souls of all living beings in that world."
Emerson pondered Todd's words carefully, then said thoughtfully, "So, you come from Earth and already possess the power to create a heaven for souls in this world... Do you know? Everything you are doing now is the duty of the gods in the Bible!"
Todd waved his hand, interrupting Emerson with a smile: "That wasn't my intention. Do you remember our conversation back then?"
Emerson nodded, recalling their initial conversation about The Prince.
Todd said, "If a monarch rules his kingdom solely based on his reputation and skill, once the monarch dies, if the successor cannot guarantee that he has the corresponding ability and qualities, it is very likely that the entire kingdom will be plunged into endless turmoil."
Emerson agreed: "Indeed, a wise monarch can bring decades of peace to the kingdom, but this is not a long-term solution."
Todd continued, "Next, we discussed the path to democracy. Distributing power among the people, allowing everyone to contribute ideas for the kingdom and plan for its future. But now it seems that this path is not a good choice either."
Emerson sighed softly: "I also bear responsibility for the turmoil in Muxi City. If I could have persuaded the people, those ambitious people would never have had the opportunity to cause trouble."
