Chapter 536 A Sweet Home

After showing Scáthach and Leviathan around all the spaces and explaining the workings of the entire Heavenly Kingdom to them, Todd left the Soul Space, floated on the sea, and flew towards Twilight City with his dragon wings.

Over the past three years, the expansion of the soul space has allowed Todd's body to accommodate more than 20,000 souls.

As Todd's soul power increased, his body also underwent changes.

The dragon's body length extends once again, reaching nearly ninety meters from head to tail.

The originally jet-black steel dragon scales, due to the rich soul power they contained, began to transform into mithril-like scales with a more reflective material. A pale blue light surrounded the entire body, and the light refracted through the scales, making the entire dragon body even more shiny and mysterious.

When Todd left the sea and flew to the mainland, the dragon's shadow sweeping across the sky blocked out the sunlight on the ground, and the huge wind pressure generated by its wings made the forests and grasslands rustle.

People can see this giant dragon, radiating dazzling light, soaring through the clouds from a great distance.

Countless believers dropped what they were doing, knelt down deeply in the direction of the dragon, and loudly recited the hymns of praise from the doctrine.

When Todd flew over Duskwood, the port was full of transport ships from Froststone.

With the help of the Knights of Twilight, the Crusaders and the soldiers of the chapter unloaded one huge iron cage after another from the ship.

The onlookers peered through the gaps in the iron cage at the monstrous alien beast imprisoned inside, erupting in gasps and screams.

Just then, some people were drawn to the light reflected from the clouds. When they looked up at the blue sky above, the arrival of the sacred dragon caused everyone to shout the name of the god while kneeling down to pray for protection and forgiveness.

Even the war beasts that were locked in cages, restless and roaring incessantly, would involuntarily bend their limbs, droop their ears, and lie on the ground whimpering when they sensed the dragon approaching.

Todd circled once above Twilight City, then tilted his body and slowly descended towards the royal palace.

As he fell, Todd's body began to change rapidly. His original enormous dragon form transformed into an ordinary human form amidst a billowing mist.

Standing on solid ground, Todd looked at Evie walking towards him, stretched, and asked, "What's new?"

The tall and dashing Evie tossed the robe in her hand to Todd and complained, "I'm a warrior, not your secretary."

The latter took the robe thrown by the Valkyrie, dressed himself, and walked towards the palace, saying with a smile, "No one knows your bravery and skill in battle better than me, especially at night when we are alone. Your strength and skill always amaze me."

Evie rolled her eyes at Todd: "Save those flirtatious words for other women. Aurora has been begging to see you every night before bed since you left for so long."

Todd paused, thought for a moment, and then said, "Those things in the kingdom can perhaps be put aside for now. I'd like to go see Aurora first."

Evie nodded matter-of-factly and said, "That's right, that's how a father should be."

After passing through a garden, Todd arrived at the entrance of a newly built palace and heard the girl's silvery laughter in the distance.

"Aurora!"

As Todd's voice echoed through the hall, a girl in a pink dress came rushing from the depths of the palace and threw herself into his arms.

A pair of clear, bright, childlike eyes, shimmering with a pale blue light, like the sea under the moonlight.

Her petite face and delicate features, with a touch of mixed-race beauty, make her unforgettable at first glance; despite her young age of only about three, she possesses a unique charm, and her noble temperament is naturally revealed in every smile and gesture.

What's most amazing is that the girl has two newly developed dragon horns on her head and a short, thin dragon tail between her legs.

Todd affectionately stroked the girl's head and said softly, "Aurora, have you been listening to the adults at home?"

Aurora clung tightly to Todd's clothes, as if afraid he would disappear at any moment.

"My mother taught me to read, Aunt Evie taught me to use a sword, and Aunt Mary made me lots of beautiful clothes."

Todd turned to Evie with a wry smile: "Teach her to use a sword? She's only three years old."

With her arms crossed and head held high, Ivy said, "In my village, someone her age is already old enough to hunt alone to earn food."

Todd sighed, shifted his gaze, and saw Deirdre, dressed in a moon-white robe, walking gracefully towards him from the other end of the palace.

Todd gently patted Aurora on the back of the head and said with a smile to Deirdre, "How are you? Are you settling in well here in Twilight City?"

Now a mother, Deirdre's youthful beauty has gradually been replaced by mature charm. Her shyness and timidity have slowly faded away, replaced by the resilience and dedication most commonly seen in women from the North.

“The artisans of Twilight City have perfectly replicated the small building of Froststone City in the palace, and everything looks exactly the same as before.” Deirdre smiled at Aurora. “Moreover, our daughter prefers the bustling Twilight City to Froststone City. There are new things happening here every day, so she will never feel bored.”

Todd nodded and said, "If you can adapt to life here, that would be great. I don't plan to do any official business for the rest of the day. I'll have the kitchen prepare some food so we can all have dinner together."

Evie took a step closer to Todd and said softly, "Due to religious conflicts in the border region, Mary went to St. Guard City three days ago."

Todd was somewhat surprised: "Religious conflict? Is it serious?"

"It's unclear at the moment, but we haven't received any urgent military reports, so it shouldn't be anything serious."

Todd nodded. "What about Rachel? Can she come and have dinner with us?"

When the name "Richie" appeared in the hall, both Ivy and Deirdre looked somewhat uncomfortable.

Evie told Todd, "Ratchel has been living in the Great Library for the past few months and hasn't been back to the palace for a long time. She's been accompanied by a group of historians and linguists."

Todd let out a sigh of relief and said softly, "I understand."

Oblivious to the oppressive atmosphere, three-year-old Aurora, naive and innocent, suddenly asked directly, "Daddy, I heard from others that Aunt Rachel is taking you to another world? Leaving us forever?"

Upon hearing the question, Todd's eyes widened, and he was momentarily at a loss for words.
