An associate professor in life engineering travels to a medieval European fantasy world. Using modern biochemistry, he discovers that viruses, bacteria, and parasites extinct in human history are a...
Flapping his dragon wings, Todd set off from Twilight City, heading north.
After traversing the northern continent and flying over the North Sea Islands, Todd finally arrived above the Shadow Kingdom.
Compared to the past, the fog surrounding the Shadow Kingdom has grown thicker, and countless reefs and whirlpools have sprung up all around the island.
In the past, there might have been ships that could guide people to this place; but now, this huge island has become a completely inaccessible secret realm.
Landing on the open ground of the abandoned temple, Todd slowly retracted his dragon wings, curled his tail, and looked around the temple.
The Shadow Queen Scáthach stood on the high platform of the temple. Before her, a pale blue, transparent sand table constructed of soul energy floated in mid-air.
Todd walked over to the sand table and looked at it carefully. The huge city, the twelve city gates, the golden staircase, the scales of judgment... Soon, he realized that Scáthach was busy revising the design layout and building distribution of the Kingdom of Heaven.
Upon noticing Todd's arrival, Scáthach didn't even look away, simply offering a greeting.
Todd looked around and then asked Scáthach, "Where is Leviathan?"
"It is to the north of the land of shadows, preparing the materials to build the kingdom of heaven."
Todd nodded, and was about to leave when he remembered something and asked Scáthach again, "Has Meredith not returned yet?"
Scáthach finally raised her head and turned to Todd, shaking her head as she said, "Not yet, but at least she updates me regularly... Don't worry, she can take care of herself."
Todd sighed softly, flapped his wings, and continued flying north.
Flying over snow-capped mountains and forests, Todd soon arrived at the northern coast.
Leviathan's enormous body floated on the sea, and from a distance, it looked like a black hill standing in the ocean.
Todd swooped down from the sky and landed steadily on Leviathan's body, asking him, "The merfolk have arrived in Twilight City, and I've promised to grant them refuge, but I have a lot of questions for you..."
"You can put your problems aside for now; those are trivial matters," Leviathan's deep voice came from beneath Todd's feet. "Look at these."
Hundreds of tentacles, resembling towering trees, rose from below the sea surface, raising giant waves like a tsunami.
The free-floating soul particles in the sky, on earth, and in the ocean, summoned by the tentacles, constantly gather and deform, eventually transforming into all sorts of objects.
The creation of materials such as stone, wood, gold, and gems is as simple and effortless as molding clay, thanks to Leviathan's ability to materialize his soul.
A solid gold gatepost, several meters tall and inlaid with diamonds, was quickly assembled in mid-air and engraved with intricate and beautiful patterns.
Leviathan said, "The design of all buildings, the construction of materials, and the patterns of decorations are all based on the blueprints provided by Scáthach. I only need to use my soul power to synthesize the matter according to her drawings."
Todd stroked a jade screen with his dragon claw, gazing at the sun, moon, and stars carved on it, and exclaimed in awe: "Using the power of the soul to construct matter is so convenient."
“This is merely the simplest application of soul power.” Leviathan waved his tentacles, completing the construction of a palace in mid-air, and said, “Soul power can even create planets and reshape the universe.”
Having completed the construction and decoration of these buildings in the sky, Leviathan assembled them together, creating a courtyard belonging to Heaven, and placed it on the northern land of the Shadow Kingdom.
Leviathan lowered its tentacles and retracted back into the seabed, saying to Todd, "Scáthach and I agree that building these structures is just a bunch of unchallenging manual labor, while building Heaven has a whole host of problems..."
Todd asked curiously, "A difficult problem?"
Leviathan swayed its body, carrying Todd on its back, and swam eastward along the coast, slowly approaching the temple district of the Shadow Kingdom.
Seeing Scáthach floating in the air in the distance, Leviathan said to Todd on his back, "Go to the ritual hall below the temple. I'll be waiting for you there."
Before Todd could ask any questions, Leviathan sank and entered the deep sea.
Helpless, Todd could only flap his dragon wings and return to Scáthach's side.
The Shadow Queen had completed the blueprint for Heaven. When she saw Todd flying toward her, she simply floated down from the high platform, turned around, and walked into a spiral staircase.
Todd, now in human form, followed Scáthach down the stairs into the temple's underground space.
Walking through that familiar corridor, Todd arrived at the hall where he had once undergone the trials of fate.
In the very center of the enormous underground hall was that deep, dark seawater sinkhole.
The wriggling tentacles beneath the seawater made Todd realize that Leviathan had arrived first.
Scáthach stepped into the seawater and asked the people below, "Is the psychic body's husk complete?"
Leviathan's voice, like muffled thunder, echoed from the sea: "According to the blueprints you gave me beforehand, I have completed the container."
Scáthach took a deep breath: "I still have some reservations. Is bringing this form of creature into this world really a good thing?"
Leviathan growled in a deep voice, "If Heaven can stop the killing and warfare between races, then psionic beings are our best choice!"
As soon as he finished speaking, a psionic sphere shining with a blinding white light slowly rose from Leviathan's tentacles, leaving the sea surface and floating into the air.
