Filled with questions, Todd flew back to Twilight City from the Land of Shadows.
For him, this trip had both good news and bad news.
The good news is that Leviathan and Scáthach's construction of the Kingdom of Heaven is progressing quite smoothly. Although there are some difficulties, solutions have been developed. At this rate, the Shadow Kingdom will be transformed into a heavenly realm to house souls in less than a year.
But the bad news is, who caused the tyrant pollution that appeared on the seabed?
Leviathan and Scáthach knew the answer to this question, but because of an agreement with Crystal, they kept it a secret and refused to reveal anything.
Below the Supuha Mountains...
As Todd flew through the air, upon careful consideration, there was only one possible conclusion he could draw.
The Tyrant's Solution that turns marine life into the undead must have originated from the resurrection experiments of the sage Sutherland.
But why would the elders want to throw a tyrant into the ocean?
Todd just couldn't understand it.
Arriving above Twilight City, Todd swooped down through the clouds toward the city.
The bustling scene in Muxi Harbor caught his attention.
Hundreds of ships of all kinds set off from the port and headed towards Waiheke Island, which was more than ten kilometers away.
Todd used his Hawkeye ability to look down into the past.
Some of these ships were cargo ships fully loaded with supplies, but most were passenger ships carrying passengers...
"What happened?"
Puzzled, Todd lowered his altitude again and slowly descended towards Waiheke Island.
The dragon's body, as large as a small mountain, completely obscured the sky. The people sitting on the boat looked up at the sky following the shadow, and the appearance of the Holy King made them shout.
Amidst the kneeling crowds of believers, Todd's feet touched the shore of Waiheke Island. Looking at everything before him, he finally understood what had happened.
As the Holy King, he had only been away for a few dozen days, and Muxi City had already completed the initial construction of the Jiliu Island Trading Station.
A man-made crescent-shaped harbor with wooden rails for multiple ships along the shore, surrounded by warehouses for storing supplies, and a camp appears to be under construction in the center of the island.
In this bay, hundreds of mermaids swam, dressed in thin clothes and with beautiful appearances, attracting large numbers of citizens of Muxi City to stop and watch.
Todd moved his feet and slowly approached the harbor shore.
Their enormous size and awe-inspiring appearance caused the merfolk to scream repeatedly.
"Sisters! Don't panic! This is the Holy Dragon the ancient gods spoke of!" Rita, the leader of the mermaids, swam tremblingly to Todd's side: "Omnipotent protector, by your grace, we, these weak and helpless creatures, have food and shelter..."
Todd lowered his dragon head, looking at the half-human creature that was even smaller than one of his own dragon claws, and asked with amusement, "Is your body trembling?"
"Although I have seen your form in the realm of the gods..." Rita said with difficulty, looking at the colossal dragon that blocked out the sunlight before her, "I never imagined that your true form would be so... magnificent..."
Todd slightly raised his dragon head and narrowed his eyes, a sign of his pleasure when he was in dragon form.
Rita, unfamiliar with Todd's character, thought she had said something wrong and unintentionally offended the Holy Dragon. She was so frightened that she quickly lowered her head and dared not speak again.
"Cough! Cough cough!"
A familiar voice made Todd lower his head.
The Valkyrie Ivy, dressed in full armor, rolled her eyes as she walked toward the dragon.
"Oh, you're here too."
Ivy said helplessly, "What do you mean 'you're here too'... I suggest you revert to human form first; you're just too conspicuous right now."
Todd looked down at the citizens, soldiers, and mermaids at his feet, some lying down, some curled up, all remaining in place in awe. No one dared to move, let alone whisper.
This is definitely not a solution.
Todd nodded to Evie and slowly retreated into the forest.
A dozen minutes later, Todd, wearing an ill-fitting robe, walked up to Evie and said rather awkwardly, "I don't have any of my clothes here."
Evie looked Todd up and down, then asked with a smile, "So, where did you get this outfit?"
"There's a row of clotheslines behind the campsite..."
As Todd was saying this, he noticed Rita, the mermaid, staring at him with wide eyes in the seawater.
The other person stretched out their white, lotus-root-like arm, pointed at Todd, and was so surprised that they couldn't speak.
Evie shrugged and pointed to the end of the boardwalk not far away, saying to Todd, "This isn't the place to talk. Let's go over there; at least it'll be quieter there."
Surrounded by a group of Valkyries, Todd hugged his slightly oversized robes while feeling the coolness between his legs.
Walking onto the boardwalk, Todd sat down on a chair that the Valkyrie had given him, watching Rita slowly swim towards him in the water, and smiled as he gestured for her to come closer.
Rita swam to the side of the boardwalk, braced herself with her hands on the wooden planks, and jumped onto the platform with all her might.
Rita's long, beeswax-colored hair, flowing like a waterfall, barely covered her full upper body. She was beautiful with fair skin, and exuded both the innocence of a young girl and the fortitude of a leader—two completely different qualities.
"Are you really the Holy Dragon?"
Rita's question made Todd laugh.
"What's wrong? My human form doesn't meet your expectations?"
Rita sat on the wooden platform, flicking her rainbow-colored fishtail, and said subconsciously, "You look...much more easygoing now..."
