Chapter 564 Randall and Barbara (Part 2)

Carroll punched Randall, sending him flying to the ground, and yelled at him, "You spineless coward!"

The people in the hall were initially stunned by what they saw, and then burst into a huge cheer.

"well played!"

"Teach this arrogant human a lesson!"

"Throw him out of here!"

The old elven shaman looked at the panting, furious orc, then at the orc shaman beside him, and asked in a low, serious voice, "Who is this person...?"

The orc shaman nodded: "He was a member of the 'earliest Crusaders,' Karol Antarevic."

The old elven shaman narrowed his eyes and said nothing more.

Carroll broke free from Barbara's grasp, rushed in front of Randall, grabbed the latter by the collar, and lifted him into the air.

Dragging the human man's face close to hers, Carol roared, "You bastard! After the Battle of Lone Rock, Miss Barbara thought you had died there. Do you know how sad and desperate she was?!"

"She wears funeral clothes every day and brings flowers to your grave! Every day she's like a walking corpse, never to see laughter again, never to hear singing again!"

Carroll slammed the shocked Randall to the ground and spat at him: "If it weren't for me and that stupid wolf stopping her in time, she might have already committed suicide for love!"

Turning to Barbara, whose face was streaked with tears, Carol's eyes were filled with helplessness and inner turmoil: "You're always worried about whether that bastard loves you. Let me tell you something. During the final battle of Lone Rock, when you were struck by a musket and fell unconscious, Randall voluntarily gave up his right to escape, entrusting you to me and Aldnan. To buy us time, he chose to stay behind alone, facing Saladin's tens of thousands of troops. If he didn't love you, why would he have done that..."

Then, Carroll recounted Barbara and Randall's concern for each other and their inner thoughts to everyone.

Only then did everyone realize that this couple, who deeply loved each other, had been running away from their true feelings all along because of various unresolved issues.

At that very moment, under Carroll's loud reprimand, Randall and Barbara suddenly realized that their previous fears and worries were nothing but unfounded anxieties and wild speculations.

Randall wiped the blood from the corner of his mouth, struggled to his feet, and looked at Barbara, saying, "I never dared to hope for your love. You are so perfect, so unattainable... while I am like a useless thing full of patches and holes, turning my back on sin and seeking redemption..."

Barbara lifted the hem of her skirt and ran forward, hugging Randall tightly. The shimmering patterns on her face illuminated her tears: "Why won't you tell me what happened in Lone Rock? Why do you always refuse to believe my feelings for you? Why are you always alone, carrying all the burdens and accusations? What's the point of living alone? Why won't you let me into your heart?"

Randall gently grasped Barbara's hand: "Because I'm scared..."

Barbara covered Randall's mouth with her hand and said emotionally, "No, because you're a fool!"

Randall laughed too: "You're right, I'm a fool..."

Everyone present stared in disbelief at this sickeningly sweet romantic scene, their expressions as varied as if they had been force-fed excrement.

"Don't trust humans! Humans are all liars!"

A hysterical scream startled everyone awake.

Jacqueline stood on the stage with a distorted expression, driven to the brink of madness by anger, jealousy, resentment, and pain.

Barbara turned to Jacqueline: "My sister, listen to me, not all humans..."

"I don't want to hear your explanation! You've been deceived!" She walked step by step toward Randall and Barbara, muttering incessantly, "No human man is any good; they only know how to deceive and toy with feelings. They all should go to hell!"

As soon as she finished speaking, Jacqueline brought her hands together, and an ice spike rose from her palms, stabbing fiercely towards Randall's back.

"careful!"

The incident happened so suddenly that Barbara, without time to think, almost instinctively grabbed Randall's clothes, pulled him behind her, and used her body to block the path of the ice spikes.

Just as the ice spikes were about to pierce Barbara's body, a huge figure stood in front of her with a roar, taking the hit with its own flesh and blood.

Carroll looked at the blood-stained ice spike on his shoulder, reached out and grabbed the end, let out a roar, and pulled it out with force. Then he shouted to everyone, "Anyone who wants to hurt these two behind me will have to step over my dead body first!"

The old elven shaman stretched out his hand, gesturing for his people to restrain the irrational Jacqueline. Then he turned to the other four shamans and asked in a low voice, "What do you think we should do now?"

The orc shaman looked at Carol, whose upper body was covered in blood, and said in a deep voice, "We should stop this trial. The final judgment should be decided by our supreme deity!"

The minotaur shaman shook his head and said, "The Dragon God is supreme, and his time is as precious as the stars. Yet we disturb him with these trivial matters every time. Isn't that a bit...?"

The werewolf shaman glanced sideways at the others, straightened up, and said, "The incident involving Jacqueline and Beatrice was already a scandal. That incident not only affected the morale of the Crusaders, but may even have made the Supreme God question our competence..."
