Chapter 64 Exposure

Under the monster's giant axe attacks, the knight struggled to parry and defend, looking extremely disheveled.

"We have to think of a way to help him!" Todd knew that if things continued like this, Alfonso alone would have no chance against this "Frankenstein's monster".

Just as he was searching for something he could use, Leslie's actions once again changed his understanding of boys.

First, he extinguished the flames on his hands, then his thick coat was pulled to the ground, and his undershirt was removed. Leslie, whose back was etched with a roaring lion in crimson ink, half-squatted down, hugged his arms, his face flushed red, and with a loud roar, a large amount of white steam rose from the pores of his upper body, filling a corner of the room.

Leslie straightened up in the 'white mist', raised his right hand in front of him, pinched his thumb and forefinger together, and snapped his fingers lightly. A spark flashed, and the mist was instantly ignited like infernal fire rising from the ground. With a bang, it burned and enveloped his upper body.

He twisted his neck left and right, and with a cracking sound of bones, "Flame Boy" exhaled a refreshing breath into the air. A flame as tall as a person shot up onto the ceiling, making the stone glow red and steam.

The eyes within the flames leaped with wild joy, their gaze fixed on the hideous behemoth not far away. Leslie's lips curled into a smile: "Come dance with the flames..."

He picked up the copper cylinder hidden in his thick cloth coat from the ground, tucked it into his waistband, and started running.

"Boss!"

Alfonso, caught in a fierce battle, heard the shouts behind him, knelt on one knee, and lowered his body slightly. Leslie leaped into the air towards the knight, landing one foot on his back.

Alfonso, acting as a springboard, suddenly lifted his body, using the reaction force to send "Flame Boy" into the air.

Leslie twisted his body in mid-air into a beautiful front flip, passing over the monster's head, head down and feet up, and spat out a "fire dragon" from his mouth, which crashed down on the enemy below, onto their unprotected heads and connecting pipes.

With an explosion and a burst of light, the monster's charred head, the blood vessels and nerves beside its skeletal spine, burst into flames. It writhed in agony, its movements momentarily halted.

Alfonso gripped the hilt of his greatsword tightly with both hands, and taking advantage of the opening, thrust it fiercely into his opponent's chest. The blade pierced through the skin and emerged from the other side.

Landing behind the enemy, Leslie saw a three-centimeter-sized wound on the enemy's back, pierced by the sword. He took two small burning balls from the copper tube and stuffed them into the wound.

Two muffled explosions came from inside the monster's body, and a flash of light illuminated the outline of its internal organs beneath its skin.

The severely injured monster staggered back several steps before finally collapsing to the ground with a thud.

nailed it?

Todd, who had been watching the whole thing passively, was about to cheer when he suddenly heard a strange sound coming from inside the monster.

It sounded like the vibration of a rattlesnake's tail.

A moment later, the roar of humans could be heard in the distance.

Leslie was the first to realize what had happened. He shouted at the knight, "Boss! This bastard has started summoning 'puppets'! We need to find a way to destroy the 'hive' on him!"

Alfonso quickened his pace, brandishing his greatsword, and rejoined the battle. The heavily wounded monster was no match for the knight and was completely at a disadvantage, with several more holes and wounds appearing on its body.

But the rattlesnake's tail-swishing sound continued!

Soon, the first "puppet" appeared at the doorway of the room. Then, more and more infected people crowded into the small room.

Todd glanced at their figures; they were clearly the same group of "puppets" who had been abandoned at the gate. They must have taken advantage of Wilder's defense against the barbarians to sneak up the city wall.

Seeing that the number of enemies in front of him was increasing, the priest knew that this was a critical moment and there was no time to worry about anything else.

As he led Karin away from the 'puppets,' he shouted at Leslie and Alfonso, "Does either of you know what the 'Hive's' true form looks like?!"

Although surprised that Todd would ask such a question, "Flame Boy" immediately answered: "Like an upside-down bowl with many tentacles growing from the bottom!"

Moving closer to the monster, Todd used his 'clairvoyance' ability to examine its entire body. After a thorough inspection, he finally spotted a similar parasite. Pointing to the monster's torso, he said, "On its back! Near the middle of the spine, slightly to the right!"

Upon hearing this, Alfonso and Leslie glanced at the speaker and then focused their attack on his back.

Due to the monster "Gel's" special ability, "Flame Boy," who lacks effective physical attack methods, has to risk taking on the role of attracting fire.

After some maneuvering, just as the knight shifted to the enemy's rear and slashed down on the bulge on his back with his greatsword, the monster's massive arm slammed into Leslie, sending the boy flying against the opposite wall, rendering him immobile. At the same time, the 'puppets' that had been gradually approaching in the room stopped and collapsed to the ground.

Todd, who was finally able to breathe a sigh of relief, bent over and caught his breath when he suddenly heard Karin's voice in his ear.

"careful!"

The massive enemy, its 'hive' destroyed, went berserk, abandoning the knight behind it and swinging its axe at Todd, who was closest to it. In that critical moment, Karin forcefully pushed the attacker away, exposing herself to the broadsword's attack, and stood frozen in place, bewildered.
