Chapter 673 The Last Lesson (Part 2)

Saladin patted his lower body, which attracted the attention of the man with the prominent throat.

At the bottom of the coffin, layers upon layers of books were neatly arranged.

Saladin carefully touched the books: "Most of these are from my own collection, and some came from my students and friends. For me, they are my greatest treasure."

The man with the throat bone stared at the books in the coffin, remaining silent for a long time.

Saladin, however, seemed to have taken a keen interest. He flipped through book after book, opened them, and began to read them to his throat with great pleasure.

Time passed, and Saladin grew increasingly exhausted, his breathing becoming heavier and heavier.

He laid out the books around him one by one, selected one, and handed it to his throat: "Read it to me."

The throat opened the book and read softly: "Before grace descends, they demand that you proclaim punishment soon, for many disciplinary measures have already passed away before them."

Saladin slowly lay back in the coffin and said in a low voice, "Yes... without cause, there is no effect."

The throat bone then said: "Are the blind and the not-blind the same? Is darkness and light the same? They have set up many companions for Allah. Are those companions capable of creating all things as Allah has, so that they cannot distinguish between the two creations?"

Saladin spoke softly, but his throat couldn't hear him clearly.

The throat bone said again, “He is my Lord, and there is no one else worthy of worship but him. I trust in him alone.”

Saladin fell silent.

He looked down.

The Caliph of the Empire had closed his eyes, and a peaceful smile appeared on his face.

Saladin passed away suddenly...

Two pale blue flames flickered gently a few times in the eye sockets of the throat bone.

He closed the book and gently placed it on Saladin's chest. His Adam's apple slowly rose, and his right hand slightly raised in the air.

The heavy and enormous stone coffin lid floated into the air, slowly descended, and joined the coffin.

Throat Bone slowly walked towards the gate of the Holy White Chamber. Upon reaching the gate, he turned and bowed in the direction of the coffin, then clasped his hands together. With a creaking sound from the hinges, the two heavy doors of the Holy White Chamber were tightly closed.

Looking towards the distant palace and city, he muttered to himself softly, "It's time to hold a funeral."

"Let's start with the funerary objects..."

His throat bone spread out his hands, and countless pale blue particles overflowed from his body, instantly burrowing into the earth.

Moments later, the earth began to tremble, countless cracks appeared on the ground, vegetation withered and died instantly, and the river suddenly dried up and disappeared.

With a series of deafening roars, black parasites, resembling seawater, burst forth from the earth like fountains, instantly engulfing the heart of the empire.

Wherever the black swarm of insects went, the screams and cries of people, the sounds of buildings collapsing and crumbling, echoed further and further through this city with thousands of years of history.

Only one pure white space became the only sanctuary in this purgatory.
