Chapter 768 The Day of Revelation (Part Six)

Las Vegas, the "Cleansing Operation" command center, half an hour before the operation begins.

General Hamilton looked at the map on the command center screen and asked, "Target location?"

Observer: "500 meters south of Charles Vistella High School."

Hamilton: "Where is the Elf (B-2)?"

Observer: "Twenty-five minutes of flight time remaining to the target point."

Hamilton took a deep breath, exchanged a glance with Major Cole beside him, and then said, "God bless America."

The latter nodded: "God bless America."

The first rays of morning sunlight shone on the land of Las Vegas.

Looking around, the entire city was already engulfed in black death.

The undead parasites, like a carpet, covered the city's houses and streets, obscuring their original appearance.

The shrill sounds filled the air above the city, and occasionally a gunshot or two could be heard, but such noises became less and less frequent until they disappeared completely.

The enormous body of the Necromancer Mother slowly writhed on the street, constantly using its tentacles to seize flesh and bones from all directions.

Numerous black parasites poured out of the nest on its head, then burrowed into the ground, completely concealing themselves.

It was 6:40 a.m.

A small dot lit up in the sky north of the city.

A stealth strategic bomber with a streamlined hull slowly flew toward the location of the Necromancer Mother.

Upon reaching the Necromancer Mother, the bomber opened its bomb bay and dropped a nuclear bomb.

When the nuclear bomb was about 100 meters from the ground, a flash of light, like the sun, instantly dispelled all the darkness.

A massive shockwave swept through the entire town, uprooting trees, demolishing and blowing buildings apart, and even lifting street surfaces into the air.

A huge mushroom cloud, formed by the explosion and airflow, slowly rose.

At the same time, thunderous cheers erupted from the combat command center.

The observer shouted excitedly, "Bomb hit! Target has ceased movement!"

Hamilton pumped his fist and roared with glee, "Good!"

Observer: "In the bombing zone, 96% of the infected have completely lost their ability to move!"

Major Cole patted General Hamilton on the back and said with a smile, "Congratulations, General, that was a great success."

After the initial excitement subsided, General Hamilton asked the observer, "When will the live footage arrive?"

Observer: "The surveillance drone has taken off and is currently hovering around the nuclear blast site. The geomagnetic storm and radiation following the explosion are preventing the drone from functioning properly."

General Hamilton emphasized, "Once conditions on the ground permit, have the drones transmit the latest images from the scene immediately. I won't be at ease until I see that bastard blown to pieces with my own eyes!"

The observer nodded and said, "Yes, General!"

Seeing that General Hamilton seemed to be in a good mood, Major Cole leaned closer and said, "I have some bad news."

Hamilton was taken aback: "Bad news?"

Major Cole: "The infected have breached the defenses of Genetown and have entered California."

Hamilton turned around in shock: "Impossible! There are two regiments there, a special operations battalion, plus militia and police. How could the infected possibly get through there?!"

Major Cole: "According to reports from the front, the targets of infection are not only humans, but any organic life form can be infected."

Hamilton's eyes widened: "You mean?"

Major Cole: "What truly breached the defenses of Gene Town was not the infected humans, but a group of infected rats."

Hamilton: "A rat?!"

Major Cole: "Those rats carried the infection source and entered Gene Town through the sewers. The army and police had no way to defend against it."

Hamilton stood there, stunned, then suddenly remembered something and quickly asked, "What about the other states?"

Major Cole: "The infected have damaged underground fiber optic cables and ground base stations. There have been no reports from Arizona and Utah yet, but the situation is not optimistic."

Hamilton clenched his fists and gritted his teeth, saying, "As long as we can eliminate this behemoth in Las Vegas, we can deal with the other places later."

Major Cole nodded in agreement: "Yes, General. Once we eliminate this source of infection, we can deal with the rest by isolating and disinfecting them."

At that moment, the observer shouted, "General, the drone has entered the nuclear explosion site!"

Hamilton dashed to the screen and shouted, "Send the picture over here!"

Looking at the blurry image on the screen, Major Cole asked, "Can't we at least figure this out?"

The observer said with difficulty, "Sir, the signal interference in the nuclear blast zone is too strong."

Major Cole waved his hand, his eyes fixed on the screen, and said nothing more.

The area at the epicenter of the nuclear explosion, spanning hundreds of meters in radius, was transformed into a massive crater.

The entire scene was like a desolate wasteland in the Gobi Desert, with hardly any large rocks to be seen, let alone any undead.

Seeing all this, General Hamilton excitedly announced, "Gentlemen, we did it! That son of a bitch has finally been taken down!"

Amid cheers and applause filling the room, Major Cole carefully examined the screen and suddenly said to the observer, "Zoom in on the bottom left corner, that's the crater... Yes, zoom in a bit more."
