Chapter 78 Land of Miracles

A land of miracles?

People began to talk about the term, some questioned the priest's statement, but some devout people firmly believed that whatever the Son Todd said must be true.

Amidst the surging of voices, a group of church catechumens carried a wooden table covered with a white cloth onto the high platform.

Todd descended from the platform and walked towards the well in the square. The crowd followed his steps, parting to form a path and then merging back together. He shook the wooden handle beside the well and, under everyone's gaze, drew half a bucket of water from it. He refused the believers' help and laboriously carried it up the platform with both hands.

He placed the bucket at his feet, grabbed the white cloth with both hands and lifted it up. On the white tablecloth was a gray earthenware pot, about twenty centimeters high, filled with soil.

“I know some of you doubt the Father’s blessing on ‘Twilight Town,’ and doubt whether piety can truly create miracles. Words are meaningless; I can prove everything to you with facts.” After saying this, Todd scooped up well water with a wooden ladle and poured it down the edge of the earthenware basin filled with soil.

Less than thirty seconds later, someone who was closer to the platform suddenly shouted behind them, "It's sprouting! The plants in the pots have sprouted!"

The astonished crowd stood up and surged toward the platform like a tidal wave.

In the earthenware pot, two tender green leaves, flanking a flower bud, emerged from the soil and grew at a speed visible to the naked eye.

Todd then poured water onto the plant in the center of the flowerpot. Pure white smoke floated from the flowerpot into the air, and the flower bud gradually bloomed, giving birth to a pale blue flower.

"The Land of Miracles!"

First came a soft whisper, then a roar of cheers, and finally the entire square erupted in celebration.

Our town of Muxi is a sacred place blessed by the Father!
