It was almost noon, and the barbecue from the morning had all been used up during their work. Yu Wanwan's stomach started rumbling, making her feel quite embarrassed.

Upon hearing this sound, Bai Jing quickly took out the dried fruit he had prepared: "I just made this this morning, have a taste."

Bai Jing knew that Yu Wanwan didn't like barbecue, but the dried fruit from yesterday had whetted her appetite, so he got up before dawn and went to the forest to pick fresh fruit and make dried fruit.

Bai Jing is a pure carnivorous beastman, so it's normal that he doesn't recognize plants. Yu Wanwan didn't blame him at all: "I'm fine. I just choked. Look at me, I'm perfectly okay."

Bai Jing was puzzled: "This fruit doesn't taste good. I'll find you something else."

Yu Wanwan grabbed Bai Jing's arm and rescued the fruit: "I want to use it to grill meat, shall we try it?"

"Barbecue?"

After a while, Yu Wanwan's mouth watered as she looked at the spicy grilled meat.

She had just thought that this fruit tasted both numbing and spicy, just like chili peppers, so perhaps it could be used as a chili pepper.

Bai Jing quickly ate two other types of grilled meat with different textures, and he was amazed by both.

Seeing Bai Jing's intoxicated expression, Yu Wanwan knew that this tasted right. Her mouth watered, and she couldn't wait to try it.

Bai Jing tore the roasted meat into pieces and placed them on leaves for Yu Wanwan to take.

The moment the grilled meat touched her lips, the familiar spicy flavor almost brought tears to Yu Wanwan's eyes.

I'm so touched! *sobs*

Yu Wanwan ate heartily, and Bai Jing brought out a bunch of meat to grill. The two of them ate until they were so full they kept burping.

Yu Wanwan packed up the remaining dried fruit.

She discovered that the fruit's flesh was spicy and its seeds were numbing; one could act as a chili pepper and the other as a Sichuan peppercorn.

With the seasoning, Yu Wanwan was very satisfied: "Baijing, what kind of fruit is this? Shall we go find some more tomorrow?"

"I don't know what kind of fruit this is. It grows on the shady side of the forest, and there are quite a lot of them. They're still growing in winter. I'll pick them when I come back from the elephant tribe."

Since it's an unknown fruit, Yu Wanwan decided to call it chili fruit for convenience.

Where is the Elephant Tribe located?

After a satisfying meal, the two, carrying a pile of rattan bags and dried fruit, slowly walked home.

"That's the closest herbivorous beastman tribe to the White Tiger Tribe. I plan to go there and ask if they have the plant you need, and also ask which plants are edible."

"When are you going? Can I go with you?"

Yu Wanwan was still thinking about going home and hoped to go out and find her way back.
