In the year 2048, following the fall of a meteorite to Earth, an unknown gas was emitted. Subsequently, species globally began to mutate, and humanity was no longer at the apex of the food chain. C...
Wang Lan's situation is not good.
The piranhas' attacks were incredibly fierce. Although these little creatures were easy to kill—a punch, an umbrella, or a flying kick would suffice—the sheer number of piranhas seemed endless, making them impossible to kill completely.
Wang Lan raised the Vajra Umbrella, forcefully piercing the piranha's body with its tip. Then, the umbrella leaves opened and spun violently, cutting through the piranhas surging around like serrated teeth. When the Vajra Umbrella became heavy, it meant that piranhas had climbed up. At this point, he immediately closed the umbrella, and the force of the mechanism forced the umbrella leaves to close, crushing the piranhas inside into pieces.
In the darkness, Wang Lan could see nothing and could only repeat his attack movements, pinching wherever he felt pain while stomping his legs randomly from time to time.
So his wounds kept healing, only to be bitten again and inflicted with new ones. Then, as soon as the old wounds healed, new ones appeared, and the cycle repeated itself.
However, the damage repair effect brought by the "Bloodlust" skill gradually seemed insufficient to repair the damage caused to him by the piranhas.
But this is only the first night of the eternal night, and the level of danger is already ridiculously high. It's hard to imagine what kind of situations we'll encounter in the next few days.
Wang Lan deeply regretted it.
If he had known this would happen, he should have killed the fat man decisively. Maybe he and Sun Muchen would be hiding in the cave right now!
In this chaotic world, being kind to others is being cruel to oneself; valuing the lives of others is giving up one's own. Of course, this time it cannot be ruled out that Sun Muchen betrayed his brother.
Listening to a woman never leads to anything good.
As Wang Lan thought this, the Vajra Umbrella struck down with even greater force!
But suddenly he felt his vision slowly recover, and it was no longer pitch black. He also heard crackling sounds. He turned his head and saw flames shooting into the sky behind him.
To his surprise, he heard another thunderous boom from the other side.
Wang Lan looked over quickly and saw a figure running towards them with a torch in hand. It was Old Zhang, whom they thought was surely dead. Wang Lan was immediately filled with surprise, "You're still alive?!"
"Pah!" Old Zhang rolled his eyes at him. "You just don't want me to be happy!"
As he spoke, he drew a dagger from his waist and handed it to Wang Lan, saying, "This is the last time, keep it safe."
Wang Lan never expected that Old Zhang would actually retrieve the dagger. She knew that there were far more piranhas over there, and the dangers involved in getting the dagger back would have been far greater than what she was facing now. Seeing the dagger back in her hands, Wang Lan couldn't help but feel a surge of gratitude towards Old Zhang, and sincerely said, "Thank you!"
"You're too kind," Old Zhang shook his head and pointed to his body, saying, "I've smeared gunpowder on myself. I've noticed that these guys don't seem to like the smell of gunpowder."
As the ground temperature from the explosion gradually decreased, the piranhas slowly gathered again. Seeing that things were not going well, Old Zhang took out two grenades and threw them out. As the explosions rang out one after another, Old Zhang pointed forward and said, "Jump to the blast point and get away!"
But to everyone's surprise, Wang Lan had already jumped over first.
Old Zhang: "..."
He stomped his foot and jumped after him.
The piranhas seemed to genuinely dislike the smell of gunpowder. As Old Zhang walked past them, the piranhas actually moved aside. Wang Lan was both surprised and amazed, and couldn't help but ask, "How many bombs do you have left?"
Old Zhang, walking alongside him, chuckled upon hearing this and said, "Do you also want a layer of gunpowder?"
Wang Lan shook his head and pointed to the sea of fire ahead, "This thing of yours catches fire as soon as it touches the flames. I don't believe you can get through it alive. Just in case, I think you should give me the bomb and then go and die!"
Old Zhang slapped his forehead and looked around. He realized that although the fire was not very large, it was spreading rapidly to the surrounding areas because of the lush and dry grassland. At a glance, he could not see the two sides. As they moved forward, they got closer and closer to the fire.
Wang Lan drew out the Vajra Umbrella and drew a simple isolation zone on the ground in front of him, while Lao Zhang took off his clothes and threw them into the sea of fire. The clothes, which were covered in gunpowder, were instantly burned to ashes, with a few sparks flying.
Fatty and Sun Muchen also arrived. When they saw Wang Lan and Lao Zhang there, they were overjoyed. Sun Muchen said, "Brother, those fish are afraid of the heat. Let's hurry up and go while the temperature hasn't dropped and our vision isn't obstructed!"
Wang Lan nodded and jumped over without thinking.
Old Zhang also started taking off his pants.
Upon seeing this, the fat man exclaimed "Oh dear!" and said, "What time is it? You're still taking your pants off! Let's go!"
"You fatso, what do you know!" Old Zhang cursed again, when suddenly he heard a hissing sound from behind him.
The piranhas followed, a dense swarm, but they clearly dared not approach due to the fire.
But the saying "a great reward will surely bring forth brave men" seems to apply to any species. Faced with such fresh and delicious live meat as Wang Lan and his companions, it was undoubtedly the best reward for the piranhas.
Some piranhas, unable to resist the delicious temptation, arched their bodies and leaped towards the group with a push of their limbs.
"careful!"
Wang Lan, with his sharp eyes, noticed that the piranhas were heading towards Lao Zhang. He quickly stood behind Lao Zhang and waved his Vajra Umbrella to help him defend himself.
Moved, Old Zhang quickened his pace in taking off his pants.
Piranhas responded to the call and began to jump over one after another, but all of them died under Wang Lan's umbrella. Even so, they still fearlessly rushed forward one after another.
Old Zhang took off all his clothes, leaving only his underwear, and stepped out of the isolation zone. However, the scorching heat was unbearable for him, and he screamed in pain before shrinking back.
