Chapter Seventy-Six: Her Choice

Qi An looked behind the car, but it wasn't actually the trunk; it was the fuel tank.

She sensed... semi-purified insect oil?

This vehicle was filled up with a tank of gas at the gas station in the military camp before setting off!

How could a gas station in a military camp have semi-purified insect oil?

Qi An was filled with doubt and uncertainty.

Was she feeling numb and having poor perception all day, and made a mistake? Or is it that the land defense forces have been using semi-purified or even unpurified insect oil all along?

Or is it that only the fuel in their car is semi-purified?

Qi An gripped the steering wheel tightly. If it was the last possibility, then... who could have gotten the semi-purified insect oil into the military camp? And why would they have given it to them?

The sun was still shining brightly, the road ahead was wide, but behind lay two lives lost and endless suspicion.

Qi An felt a deep hatred for himself!

She's too weak! She was weak once when she learned Xiang Shiyang's secret, and she's still weak now!

She's only been gone a few minutes; if she stops any longer, she'll be caught!

Under the blazing sun, the military green SUV parked on the main road looked as if it were parked on a side road at the edge of a cliff.

Qi An shifted into reverse.

She turned around and, after driving for three minutes, saw Yu Shuang and Zhuang Xiao chasing after her.

Her turning around clearly surprised the two men as well.

Qi An braked the car beside the two of them, and Yu Shuang immediately jumped onto the hood, knelt on one knee, and was only separated from Qi An by the front window!

"What exactly are you doing?" Yu Shuang stared at her and asked angrily!

But Qi An asked, "Is it possible that Liu Hui wants to kill us?"

Yu Shuang was taken aback, and Zhuang Xiao was also completely surprised when Qi An said that. She exclaimed, "Huh?"

"This car is filled with semi-purified insect oil. Is it possible that there's a bomb or something in the fuel tank?" Qi An continued to ask.

"I'll go check the other car!" Qi An said.

She got out of the car, surrounded by all sorts of gazes—surprise, doubt, and inquiry.

Qi An knew this was the price of her choice. She had made her decision and did not regret it. She simply said to everyone, "This is just a guess. I don't know if it's right or wrong, but please don't go near the two cars. I'm going to check them."

She took the keys, pulled a crowbar from the trunk of the gas car, and headed straight for the car in front.

To avoid suspicion, she even tossed the keys to the gas truck to Yu Shuang.

Yu Shuang was somewhat stunned.

Qi An climbed into the front of the vehicle. This time she was focused. Even though the vehicle was an electric car with a very small fuel tank, she could still sense the unpurified insect oil!

This absurd guess became even more credible!

Qi An exited the carriage, intending to crawl under it, but then another possibility occurred to him.

She took out the heavy rifles that the men had left in the car, threw them far away, and then dragged out a box of rifle bullets and a box of grenades from the trunk. She gestured for Tang Long to move them before crawling under the car.

She drilled in without hesitation, but Tang Long hesitated.

Qi An lied to him, and he was both angry and confused.

What exactly is going on?

Why did they suddenly say there was a bomb in the car?

Zhang Huaiqian was even more stunned, muttering, "How could such a beautiful girl be a madwoman?"

Is her pollution level too high? Is she behaving abnormally?

Of all the people, Su Qingran couldn't understand Qi An's behavior either, and Yu Shuang stepped forward to try to stop Qi An.

But Zhao Bohan's skepticism and thirst for knowledge were ingrained in his bones. After a moment of shifting gaze, he walked to the back of the oil truck and shone his flashlight on the oil plate and oil line area under the truck's chassis.

Nothing was found.

He then retrieved a sight from the toolbox of the car in front and peered along the edge of the skid plate into the bottom of the fuel tank.

A small black box was affixed to the inside of the protective panel!

Zhao Bohan immediately stepped back, shouting, "Xiao Qi, get out from under the car!"

Back at the ranch, the man with the protruding mouth who was listening in already knew the bomb had been discovered; he was just waiting for the right moment for everyone to return and check the fuel tank.

"Should we bomb them? Brother Li and the others are less than a kilometer away."

The tall man had just burst into laughter when he learned that the bomb had been discovered, and his face darkened.

He hesitated for a moment, knowing that the group was now standing very spread out!

But the existence of the bomb has been discovered. What if this is the perfect opportunity?

"Damn it, we've lost the initiative! At least we could have destroyed two truckloads of equipment!" The tall man cursed viciously and pressed the detonation button!

Zhao Bohan shouted loudly half a minute before the button was pressed!

Qi An knew he had found the bomb the moment the loud shout rang out, and she immediately rolled over and retreated!

The sensor beeped, the air was compressed, and the first shock wave came from under the fuel tank of the oil truck, tearing the fuel plate like paper!

This is specially made high explosives!

Immediately afterwards, a loud vibration came from Qi An's car.

The bomb on the car was clearly planted on the battery pack. The flying debris and the crackling sound of the battery cells breaking caused Qi An a sharp pain in his ears, which even caused him to lose his hearing!

The next second, the insect oil in the oil tanker sprayed out. This oil was not only not completely purified, but it may have also contained some kind of combustion-promoting substance. When it was ignited by a spark, it exploded again!

Zhao Bohan could have run further, but Zhuang Xiao was still confused about the situation, so he squatted down behind Zhao Bohan.

The oil tanker was overturned by the blast wave, and debris flew everywhere. Zhuang Xiao was grabbed by Zhao Bohan and knocked backward!

The explosion of the other tram was almost identical to that of the oil tanker!

Qi An knew he couldn't escape the moment he lost his hearing.

She instinctively covered her head with her hands to shield herself from debris from an explosion.

But someone rushed over, grabbed her ankle, and pulled her backward with all their might!

Tang Long was the closest, and Zhang Huaiqian was the farthest, but he was still affected by the shockwave and fell to the ground, feeling a sharp pain in his back as if something sharp had pierced his flesh!

The explosion brought the world back to complete silence after a period of extreme noise.

For several seconds, everyone was unable to hear or see anything.

Right there by the roadside, amidst lush vegetation and intense sunlight, a raging fire suddenly erupted.

Zhao Bohan snapped out of his brief, seemingly unconscious mental blank and couldn't see his teammates for a moment.

Everyone must have been injured, and probably not just slightly!

They weren't even in the car, and they were standing so far apart, yet the result was still so severe!

Without Qi An, would they all have been reduced to ashes?
