Chapter Fifty-Nine: An Unexpected Event

Josie blinked and smiled at him, "Yeah, you guys probably walked too fast and didn't notice me."

Fu Jinxing's gaze swept across her face, and he suddenly asked, "Xixi, are you a superhuman?"

Josie's smile froze on his face; how could he have guessed it so quickly?

Fu Jinxing smiled when he saw her expression. "I watched you grow up. Even if you deliberately didn't contact me these past few years, some little habits can't be changed."

"Then I have no privacy in front of you. You can tell what I'm thinking just by looking at me."

Fu Jinxing shook his head with a wry smile, "Really? But I can only see part of it."

"A part?" Josie asked curiously.

“Hmm,” the eyes behind the glasses stared straight at her, “For example, I can’t guess why you’re deliberately distancing yourself from me right now.”

Josh didn't expect him to say it so directly.

Just as she was thinking about how to smooth things over, Fu Jinxing smiled gently and said, "It's okay if you don't want to talk about it. I don't expect you to cling to me like before, but I hope that you will think of me when you encounter difficulties."

Her nose stung a little. If she had been more mature back then, and hadn't felt so sensitive about not being loved by everyone because her father had kicked her out of the house, perhaps she would have gone up to Fu Jinxing and questioned him.

Perhaps... she and Fu Jinxing were already together.

"I feel much more at ease knowing you have superpowers. Let's go inside and get something to eat?"

Josie, however, ignored him and simply sat beside him, eating and drinking.

Even though Fu Jinxing was constantly talking to people, he always managed to replenish her plate with the things she liked to eat.

Feeling sleepy after eating, Josie couldn't help but yawn.

Fu Jinxing noticed this and stood up. "Let's go, I'll take you home."

"Seven or eight zombies have already mutated, Professor Fu. We will escort you out of here."

Fu Jinxing never expected that zombies would appear in the safe zone.

He turned around and took Josh's hand. "Josh, let's get to a safe place first."

"Only seven or eight zombies?"

"They're still biting passersby, and there will definitely be more soon," the superhuman who went to investigate said truthfully.

"Then why don't you take advantage of the fact that there are fewer zombies now and deal with them all at once?"

Josie frowned. She had seen mountains of corpses and seas of corpses before. Seven or eight zombies would be difficult for her to handle on her own, but there were two other superhumans beside her.

If they act now, they might be able to stop more humans from turning into zombies.

Outside, everything was devastated; only here did people feel that there might still be hope for survival.

"No, our primary responsibility is to ensure Professor Fu's safety. If we go to deal with the zombies, Professor Fu will be in great danger if something goes wrong."

Behind her, three or four more zombies were lunging at her.

His eyes were bloodshot, and he ran towards her almost without hesitation.

"Professor Fu!"

Josie also caught a glimpse of this scene. As she dodged the zombie, she shouted at him, "Brother Jinxing, don't come any closer!"

The man on the ground stumbled to his feet, but instead of fleeing immediately, he shoved aside another zombie that was trying to attack Josie.

Fu Jinxing had already rushed into the horde of zombies when three zombies pounced on him at the same time.

He kicked one away, bent down to dodge another, and led the third away.

Qiao Xixiu breathed a sigh of relief when she saw this. She had forgotten that although Jinxing was a top student, he also loved boxing and extreme sports.
