Qiao Xi was reborn. Between the scumbag and upgrading her abilities, she decisively kicked the love-struck brain to the curb and chose to stick close to and become stronger!

Chapter Fifty-Nine: An Unexpected Event
Josie blinked and smiled at him, "Yeah, you guys probably walked too fast and didn't notice me."
Fu Jinxing's gaze swept across her face, and he suddenly asked, "Xixi, are you a superhuman?"
Josie's smile froze on his face; how could he have guessed it so quickly?
Fu Jinxing smiled when he saw her expression. "I watched you grow up. Even if you deliberately didn't contact me these past few years, some little habits can't be changed."
"Then I have no privacy in front of you. You can tell what I'm thinking just by looking at me."
Fu Jinxing shook his head with a wry smile, "Really? But I can only see part of it."
"A part?" Josie asked curiously.
“Hmm,” the eyes behind the glasses stared straight at her, “For example, I can’t guess why you’re deliberately distancing yourself from me right now.”
Josh didn't expect him to say it so directly.
Just as she was thinking about how to smooth things over, Fu Jinxing smiled gently and said, "It's okay if you don't want to talk about it. I don't expect you to cling to me like before, but I hope that you will think of me when you encounter difficulties."
Her nose stung a little. If she had been more mature back then, and hadn't felt so sensitive about not being loved by everyone because her father had kicked her out of the house, perhaps she would have gone up to Fu Jinxing and questioned him.
Perhaps... she and Fu Jinxing were already together.
But now, everything can't go back to the way it was.
"I feel much more at ease knowing you have superpowers. Let's go inside and get something to eat?"
Throughout the night, many people came over to chat with Fu Jinxing, since his research project focused on the direction of human evolution.
The big shots also want to become superhumans through various means.
Josie, however, ignored him and simply sat beside him, eating and drinking.
Even though Fu Jinxing was constantly talking to people, he always managed to replenish her plate with the things she liked to eat.
By the time the banquet was nearing its end, Josie was so full that she couldn't eat anything more.
Seeing her eating with such satisfaction, Fu Jinxing smiled.
Feeling sleepy after eating, Josie couldn't help but yawn.
Fu Jinxing noticed this and stood up. "Let's go, I'll take you home."
He would deliberately slow down and wait for her to walk beside him.
Stepping out the door, the night wind blew in, and Josie subconsciously touched her bare arm.
The next second, a coat still warm from her body was draped over her shoulders.
But Josie just kept her head down, clutching her clothes, and didn't say a word.
After walking in silence for a long time, I asked, "Xixi, have my actions burdened you?"
Fu Jinxing's voice was always so gentle. In the past, she would have felt that it was all other people's and her own fault.
Before Josie could answer, a scream suddenly came from the street, followed by that familiar, chilling voice.
Hehe...
"Help! There are zombies!"
"Zombies have entered the safe zone!"
Fu Jinxing almost immediately shielded Qiao Xi behind him.
One of the two superhumans protecting him went ahead to check the situation, while the other stood closely beside Fu Jinxing, vigilant about the surrounding environment.
Qiao Xi looked at Fu Jinxing's back. He hadn't even awakened any superpowers. Was he just standing in front of her feeding the zombies?
She sighed, quietly lifted her skirt, and pulled out the dagger strapped to the outside of her thigh, holding it in her palm.
Not long after, the superhuman who had gone to investigate returned looking flustered.
"Seven or eight zombies have already mutated, Professor Fu. We will escort you out of here."
Fu Jinxing never expected that zombies would appear in the safe zone.
He turned around and took Josh's hand. "Josh, let's get to a safe place first."
"Only seven or eight zombies?"
"They're still biting passersby, and there will definitely be more soon," the superhuman who went to investigate said truthfully.
"Then why don't you take advantage of the fact that there are fewer zombies now and deal with them all at once?"
Josie frowned. She had seen mountains of corpses and seas of corpses before. Seven or eight zombies would be difficult for her to handle on her own, but there were two other superhumans beside her.
If they act now, they might be able to stop more humans from turning into zombies.
Outside, everything was devastated; only here did people feel that there might still be hope for survival.
She didn't want even this last little piece of pure land to be destroyed.
"No, our primary responsibility is to ensure Professor Fu's safety. If we go to deal with the zombies, Professor Fu will be in great danger if something goes wrong."
Josie hesitated for a moment, then said, "You guys protect him, I'll go."
She'll kill as many as she can now. It might be a bit difficult for her, but she has shapeshifting abilities to protect herself. At worst, she can just wear down the zombies and slowly kill them.
No sooner had she moved than Fu Jinxing grabbed her wrist. "No, Xixi, come with me."
The zombies will eventually be cleared out by the superhumans. As for how many people the zombies will bite before that, he doesn't care. He only cares about Josie.
Having finally found her, he couldn't allow anything to happen to her in front of him.
"Brother Jinxing, you forgot that I am also a superhuman. I will be fine."
If this were her first time experiencing the apocalypse, she wouldn't dare.
Having experienced two apocalypses, these few zombies posed no psychological burden on her.
"No, come with me."
The man, usually gentle and refined, revealed his assertive side at this moment, directly leading her down a different path.
Unfortunately, the zombies had already detected the presence of humans in the area.
Nighttime is when they are most active; they are significantly faster and more ferocious than during the day.
Hehe...
They chased after them relentlessly, but still couldn't catch up with the humans.
Suddenly, several humans appeared ahead, laughing and walking back together.
Perhaps they were talking too loudly, and I didn't hear the zombies when I turned around.
"Run! There are zombies!"
Only after Josie reminded them did the men notice the zombies getting closer and closer to them.
One of the men was so agitated that he twisted his ankle and fell to the ground.
The others had already run far away and wanted to come back to rescue them, but after assessing the distance to the zombies, they had no choice but to harden their hearts and run away.
"No! I still have children to raise..."
With just that one sentence, Josie stopped in her tracks.
Fu Jinxing felt his hand go empty. When he turned around, he saw Qiao Xi standing in front of the zombie, her dagger plunged into the back of the zombie's head.
Behind her, three or four more zombies were lunging at her.
"Xixi!"
His eyes were bloodshot, and he ran towards her almost without hesitation.
"Professor Fu!"
Josie also caught a glimpse of this scene. As she dodged the zombie, she shouted at him, "Brother Jinxing, don't come any closer!"
But Fu Jinxing wouldn't listen at all; he only had one thought in his mind: he couldn't let Xixi get bitten.
Josie no longer cared about Fu Jinxing. She quickly transformed, causing the zombies to lose their target, and then immediately reappeared, stabbing another zombie in the head with her dagger.
The man on the ground stumbled to his feet, but instead of fleeing immediately, he shoved aside another zombie that was trying to attack Josie.
Fu Jinxing had already rushed into the horde of zombies when three zombies pounced on him at the same time.
He kicked one away, bent down to dodge another, and led the third away.
Qiao Xixiu breathed a sigh of relief when she saw this. She had forgotten that although Jinxing was a top student, he also loved boxing and extreme sports.
Fu Jinxing shook off the three zombies and turned around, only to see a zombie grab Qiao Xi's wrist and bite down...
